Such a great idea! 😊👍 It not only looks great, but holds in whatever mulch you use. Unfortunately I gave mine to the council compost already, but I'm very tempted to try it later on this year. Another lovely video. 😀
Thanks Joanne. Definitely give it a go later this year -- it doesn't take long to make and looks lovely too. You'll never look at pruned raspberry canes the same way again :)
Good idea! In the UK we call that type of barrier hurdles. I have just used my raspberry canes as pea sticks along with the black currant canes that I cut at the end of the summer.
Cheers Lynn :) If you watch until the end I show what I'm sharing in the next video --- how to make willow hurdles for the garden. They're much taller than these and last a very long time.
It's a little more involved but uses the same wattle weaving principles. Willow is a lot bendier and more forgiving to weave than raspberry canes though :)
Where have you been sister? We missed you! Cool video. Love this idea! I have never seen or heard of willow hurdles! They are gorgeous! Loved your prior raspberry edging video as well.
All will be clear later this year :) Trying to make videos when I can though. Hurdles are a fairly British (European?) garden feature but even here they're underused. I'm going to change that in my allotment garden!
Loving the ideas, wishing I had the material, but stuck in an apartment, but IF I'm ever blessed with a real home I will be doing this fencing, as it's totally AWEsome... Great video, thank you so much... ⭐️😘 🌹🌈💞🎵🌷🌼🌺💖😆👏👍💫🌟✌ 💛 ☘️ ☘️~"1 & all please take care of you & for others that need you through all these undesired difficult trying times"~ 😘 ~"Love, Hope, Peace, Kindness, Dreams, Inspiration, Laughter, Joy, Give, Live & Let Live"~
You have been in my thought due to the weather you have been having. Love your channel get a lot of great information that helps me even though I live in the USA IN north eastern Ohio.
Hello Just what I have been looking for. I am currently in Mauritius and was looking at turning part of my lawn, which is mostly weed into a raised bed. No raspberries, but loads of thin long bamboo, which gets pruned. Can I just use bamboo as stakes and to weave? I do not have posts but I suppose i can still go ahead with the project without them? Great video, very well explained.
With what other cuttings can we do the same? We just shred the hazelnut trimmings and some wild ones in the garden. Any suggestions. We cut our osiers and replanted them in other parts of our garden for a natural fence.
Great idea! I'm going to try my hand at growing raspberries this year. How many plants would you think I would need to get a good amount of berries for two people? 😊 I love your videos thank you for so much information !
Wattle fencing is something that is on my mind to use. I heat my home with wood and am building a food forest so tree branches are in never ending supply. I'm thinking wattle fencing is the most ecofriendly option I can do!
Great how to here Tanya. Fantastic way to reuse a waste material from the garden
Absolutely :) Will you be in London this week Tony?
So much better than a plastic edge both visually and environmentally 😊
And practically free to make :) What's not to like?

I actually love this, the colour of the canes are so nice & the naturalistic look is beautiful
Edit: can't wait to see the hurdle weaving

So practical and aesthetically pleasing too!

Great idea!!! Eco-friendly, functional, and beautiful! Thank you for sharing and I can't wait to build one!
Thank you for teaching us these practical ,and beautiful garden projects ! I look forward to each future video!
You're very welcome BobbiLynn :)
Lovely video. Have to try this when storm Jorge goes away.
He's still blowin' a Hoolie here too. The storms this winter...sigh.
Highly creative solution...!! Outstanding work, really.
Thanks Sharad :)
That is also garden friendly and good recycling. Excellent
Love this idea I need to grow more Raspberries so I can do this.I also saw another TH-cam using the pruning as snail barriers on seed beds.
Great idea. A must for next year as my canes have went a differant way -- compost 🤦♂️ A good idea to keep the mulch in as well
It does the job :)
love the edging idea. i'm gonna have to add that to the list of things to try!

Looks great! I'm going to try this once spring arrives.
It will be here soon! The light is already getting spring-like here :)
Great idea no waste gardening can't wait to give it a go!!! Thanks ❤️❤️
Lovely! Great project. I'll make sure I keep my canes at the end of this season. Thank you for sharing.
Hello from Mobile ,Alabama USA .Just found and subscribed to your channel, I love it! I have always dreamed of attending the TT !!
It was sadly cancelled this year but I bet will be huge in 2021 :)
What a clever idea! It looks so nice too!
Nice and easy weaving! Thanks for the tutorial, love it!
Glad you enjoyed it Mary :)
Great video!
I love this idea and it looks so pretty
That's what I like about it too -- both pretty and functional :)
Excellent. I can think of many ways of using that edging.
I love this and we grow tons of raspberries.
I foresee tons of raspberry cane edging in your future :)
What a GREAT idea!

Honestly, I think you can use any slightly bendy stick to make this. Hazel trimmings included :)
That is beautiful
I love this! 🤗

Great idea 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😀
Hi there, could you please clarify: can one use just cut canes or does one need to leave them for a period of time?
Thank you.
Freshly cut is perfect 👌 The older they are, the more brittle they become
Pretty!
What type of raspberries are they? Thornless?
the bird at 3:28 approves
How efficient
Nice film :-)
Genius

Fab
I need to do this with thorny ones to keep dogs&cats out of my front yard
I was thinking the same thing but it's the night Critters I'm concerned about. They decimate my tomatoes every year
Never not wicker fence.
