  • I went to Jordan for a week and this was what it was like. Here, have this video guide that I've designed to help me to prepare to Jordan before I visited. But obviously it was made too late for that
    0:00 - Jordan?
    3:58 - Some advice
    5:05 - Bring water
    5:31 - Weather and Temperature
    5:57 - Accommodation and getting to places
    7:02 - What is there in Jordan? (Amman, Petra and Wadi Rum)
    7:23 - Dead Sea
    10:23 - One the Border

    You get used to the mosquitoes, and heat (it's fine because there's like 0 humidity), but yiiiiikes, the brightness is awful. I really do relate to the sunglasses thing. You never get used to it. Seems your either born with being able to deal with it, or you aren't.

    Being from Jordan, this really makes me happy and I NEVER thought I would even see this. It is loud as driving there is a nightmare, people don't usually respect the lanes and use the horn more as a way to insult you. Pavements are also a nightmare. Trees are usually planted on them leaving no place for you to walk. And where I lived, there was constant stray gunfire used as a way to celebrate. This is probably unsafe, but its what we call home! Edit: The reason your skin felt " greasy" is because the mud of the dead sea is very beneficial for the skin and has many healthy nutrients for your skin. So the dead sea is good for you!

    • @asfmankey3672
      @asfmankey3672 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup, gunfire as a way to celebrate is the most unsafe and shitty way to celebrate on Earth. Where I'm from, people die because of stray bullets and a few times people in weddings died because some idiot was firing guns as a way to celebrate. Also, police have to give warnings to stop firing during celebratory days like new years (that's how bad it has become). Yes, it's culture but I still find it very unsafe and people dying because of it is unacceptable

    I have never been to Jordan but I have been to Israel many times, and it is amazing how similar not only the geography is, but the culture as well. I'm not gonna now try and write the solution for peace in the middle east in one TH-cam comment, but take this observation as you wish.

    fyi, suddle sexism in Jordan would only be experienced when you work or meet up with someone who grew up in rural places, in your video I noticed you visited mostly cultural hotspots but its pretty chill if you decide to go to the heart of the city and not just to downtown amman and shit

    A friend and I went earlier on this year, during Ramadan, and it was absolutely incredible. I'd highly recommend visiting during Ramadan, because it took the change of culture to a whole new level. I also think that your photo of the King Abdullah Mosque was taken from almost directly in front of the hotel we stayed at in Amman!
