The Yagya for an Heir conducted by Dashrath was Putrakameshti yagya and not Ashwamedha Yagya. Ashwamedha Yagya is performed for the explicit purpose of expanding the boundaries of your kingdom.

He performed Ashwamed Yagya on advice by Rishyashringa After performing Ashwamedh yagya, he performed Putra Kamesti yagya. Then after completion of yagya, a vishnudut appeared with a bowl of sweet made from rice and milk and asked Dashrath to feed it to his queens.

Lord Vishnu's promise to the Devas -
“O Devas, fear no more, peace be with you. For your sake, I will destroy Ravana, together with his sons, grandsons, counsellors, friends and relatives. Having slain that cruel and wicked asura, the cause of fear to the divine sages, I will rule in the world of mortals for eleven thousand years.”

Did Dashrath do the Ashvamedha or the Putrakameshti yagya?
Valmiki has actually mentioned both these yagyas.
This is the 2nd shloka of the 8th Sarga of Balkand -
      चिन्तयानस्य तस्यैवं बुद्धिरासीन्महात्मन: ।
      सुतार्थं हयमेधेन किमर्थं न यजाम्यहम्।।
While reflecting over the matter, a thought struck the great king (Dashrath), “Should I consider performing the Ashvamedha yagya for a son.”
And then he discussed the matter Sumantra, Vasishtha and others.
Later, Valmiki has described in detail how Dashrath first did the Ashvamedha yagya (14th sarga) and then the Putrakameshti or Putreshti yagya (15th sarga) right afterwards.

The order was Ram lakshman bharatha and shatrugna..The porridge was also given in same order to their mothers..Their marriages too happened in the same order..Bharatha also refers lakshmana as ayya(elder one)...So it's lakshmana who was born before bharatha..Btw you are doing great job🙏🙏

      @anushkkundar2120 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@titlydebnath2465 I don't think there's any specific reference for age difference in valmiki ramayan..But still we can infer about the orders of their birth:
1.Dasharath gave 1/2 of the porridge to kausalya first..Then he gave 1/2 of the remaining half to sumithre(1/4)..Then he gave 1/2 of remaining half to kaykeyi(1/8) and again to sumithre(1/8)
(Dashrath didn't want kaykeyi to have a child because of the promise..so he gave 1/8 only i think..like under dosage maybe)
2.Ram married first..then lakshman..then bharath and lastly shatrugna.
3.When the 3 of them returned from exile after 14 years Bharath first prostrated down to ram and then prostrated down to lakshman(Bharatoham abhivadayet)..if bharat was elder then why would he throw himself before lakshman.
4.Bharat while requesting ram to return to ayodhya said that if he didn't return then he would stay there just like elderly lakshman(aryathah lakshmanet)
5.Ram was born in chaithra maas punarvasu nakshatra..Lakshman in shravan maas ashlesha nakshatr..bharat in pushya maas pushya nakshatr(on fullmoon day)..and shatrugn on next shravan maas ashlesha nakshatra
PS:The last point that i wrote here was which bannanje govindacharya quoted but still the above 4 is enough to infer that Lakshman was elder than bharath
