Absolutely. His exclusion is a black eye on the HOF. Larry Brown, Gary Clark, Don Warren (best blocking tight end in league history hands down) and Dave Butz as well. Butz and Warren seem like outlandish choices to some and will never get even a marginal glance from that committee but they were HUGE pieces of the success those great teams enjoyed and as dominant in their own quiet way as any players of that time.

This was the best Redskin team that they ever had. The 1991 Redskins just rolled over anyone in the first few home games shutting out the Lions, Cardinals, and then Eagles here at home. It got so bad that Kotite got Pat Ryan out of retirement just so he could play that season. The Redskins played their best and that would really be the last of the Redskins being that good. Yes, the next season they went 9-7 and won a wildcard, but after that they would not make the playoffs until 1999.

the first crack in the redskins foundation was when Bobby Beatheard left the team in 1988. He was responsible for building that era. Gibbs coached it, but Beathard built it. Casserly took over the draft in 1990 and they had bad draft after bad draft. 1992, following this title, they had the 6th pick in the draft, traded up and took Desmond Howard - a disaster pick. 2 years later another disaster in 1994 with Heath Shuler. Beatherd leaving, Desmond Howard and Heath Shuler is what led them downhill

The 1991 Redskins are the best football team I ever saw. They had no weaknesses and no egos. Just a perfect storm of young and old talent, harnessed by arguably the greatest coach of all time in Joe Gibbs. They could beat you any number of ways. Don’t get me wrong, the 89 Niners, 78 Steelers, 85 Bears and 73 dolphins belong in that conversation too. But I think if any of those teams play the 91 Redskins seven times the Redskins win 4.

What a stupid comment. There's always one contrartian jackass in every comment section. The whole notion of speculating on how "great teams" would do against each other based on stats is also idiotic.

If eagles had RC would have won the super bowl that year. That D was incredible. Skins got lucky

Their D was just as good in 1990.

Another stupid comment. How many NFC championships did Cunningham ever win, much less Super Bowls? I'm beginning to believe Eagles fans are almost as dumb as Cowboy fans.

Yeah, whatever, a "lucky" 14-2 regular season. 🙄

    83 and 91 Redskins teams should've been 19-0
