  • In this North Park Lake fishing outing, I got out in the kayak to try and catch some largemouth bass. Casting the Berkley Flicker Shad resulted in my first bass of the year. After that the trout bite was on! I definitely wasn’t expecting the trout to love this crankbait so much, but they simply couldn’t resist!

Will the flicker shad work for spillways?

Have you tried trolling this lake with the flicker Shad?

Thanks! I’ve been wanting to fish Glade but I guess I’ll have to wait for this cold front to move out. Good luck!

Nice work! I use flickers for walleye, what size are you using?

I love using them for walleye too! I usually stick with the 2” size

Nice fishing 👍 I got a 3 pack of these with a rod combo. I never use them , so it cool to see you nail them. I think that rod will be a dedicated, Flickr shad rod. We can only using single barbless hooks. Where do you recommend hook placement, front or back

Sounds great, you’ll have to let me know what you catch on them! If you’re going to replace the trebles with single hooks, I’d definitely recommend that you replace them with a single hook at each split ring. If you can only add one hook, I’d replace the back hook. Most trout seemed to get hooked on the back hook, and this would also decrease the chances of getting snagged or caught in weeds. I hope this helped!

Thanks, that’s fantastic! NP can definitely be tricky if you don’t figure out the right patterns. Tight lines!🎣

Trying to figure out where those brook trout came from, they aren't supposed to be stocking them there (or anywhere in Allegheny County that I see).

Interesting, I just looked up the stocking schedule for North Park and you’re right! Maybe they just threw a few buckets in there for the heck of it? There seemed to be a decent population in there though.

Thanks for checking out my channel! The 2” in 3/16oz and 2 3/4” in 5/16oz slayed the walleye last year. I mainly used the black/gold and black/silver colors
