Did you know that Veilside, the company known for making some of the CRAZIEST body kits in existence, started out as a performance tuning company? It's true! Veilside is responsible for breaking some INSANE speed and acceleration records, but that's not what they're most famous for. Today, Alex sits down to talk about how Veilside evolved from a successful performance company, to a show stopping body kit company that encompasses 90s and 00s car culture.

I think Veilside is underrated and always overlooked. Their kits and wheels only got popularized after Tokyo Drift came out. No one seems to know that they had kits available for most platforms. Shoot, they had kits for civics, integras, and eclipse too.
I'm proud to say that I've been up on Veilside since my days of living in Japan in 1997. there's so many great tuner companies and performance part stores out there.
All I had back then were magazines and databooks on most of those cars growing up

All I know about Veilside is that Han actually died in that crash when his car exploded, but nope, now he's back

I always had a thing for Veliside for the Fortune 03 Supra, even before Tokyo drift. I knew a bit about their tuning history but didn't know this is the way they started.
Thank you for doing a video about VS! They're one of my favourite tuning companies and Mr. Yokomaku's principles very much align with my own. I think their body kit designs, as well as a lot of others from that era, are a lot more interesting and intricately designed than what's popular now.

@@FitmentIndustries orly! I might just do that. Especially because I'm thinking about down sizing from the 21inch 355s to something more flexible on my r35 zilla boy. The wheels on there came with the car and are very overkill custom 21inch 355r/295f adv.1s. I needed new wheels before because I thought the rims were leaking and I just spent many money on tires. Turns out it was the valve stem. Thank you for the reply. I'm sure ill be needing something within the year and I'll hit you guys up!
@@FitmentIndustries Well I tried to buy wheels from you guys and they didn't fit even after talking with a sales rep on the phone for the soul reason of making sure the wheels I had in the cart would fit before buying them. Now you guys are literally sending me packing stuff and literally making me pack these rims and tires up to be sent back. It's 110 degrees outside here in California and I suffer from Crohn's and I am expected to stack up 4 rims with tires on them then wrap them with packing saran wrap and hope they are wrapped tight enough for the shipping person to take it. Huge waste of time and money. Lack of responsibility, terrible customer service. The lady I spoke with to get this issue resolved was rude, uninformative and unhelpful like she was robot reading from a script but with an attitude as if she was egging me on to become frustrated in the situation for entertainment when I was never rude to her and ha explained my situation very non-aggressively and with the purpose of getting the issue resolved. At one point she even laughed at me for not understanding some measurements she was referring to in the gallery as I explained to her Me: "I don't understand what that means I'm sorry." Lady: "TSKTSK throat laugh" Me: "...that's why I had come to you guys for help." Not even joking. Horrible experience.

I'd like to mention that they made a kit for the Mitsubishi 3000gt and lowered correctly with nice wheel, it is easily the best version of the car. My 94 vr4 had the kit when I bought it. I wish we could post pictures here

I had Greddy exhaust on my 94' Civic in 1994 that looked like that so I don't think Veilside invented that look. Wish I still had that Civic. Got t-boned by a E350 Ford Van.

Fellas I was looking for wheels on your website today, your search engine gave me 39 pages of wheels to choose from (on my phone). 20 of those pages were all on backorder, dafaq??? Who do I have to kiss to get all them options? Seriously, for you guys I'll go lick someone's face. This COVID thing is starting to screw with my day dreaming. On a more serious note, I'd love for you to go through the exact process on how to measure out for the proper fitment, so nothing rubs and/or rip the liners out and go to town. Also how you cut and seal fenders for flares or over fenders. The magical automotive process of not only being the wide boy, but also have the meats underneath that fit properly. The absolute sex appeal of properly stanced cars and how it's done. Power mods aside, how you can gain the most crowd rubber necking points without having to actually Mustang a crowd. I love you fellas and everything you do, please keep doing it. I watch every vod and LOVE all of them.
In general I'm not a fan of widebody kits on classic cars , but I love the 70s 80s JDM cars with the Shakotan and Yankii style S30Z , Kenmeri , Hakosuka , soarer RX4 , 510 Cressida , Mark II , soarer , KE70 .

I’m glad people on social media are calling out Veilside’s build quality. Purchased full a kit off them and the quality was horrendous. Could have purchased a kit for half the price with better fitment and finish.
I wanted all of their wheels growing up as a kid... I still do...

I really like the Veilside Combat 2 body kit on the RX7 that was in the 1st Fast and Furious movie. If I were to buy a rx7, I would buy that body kit.
