The clock was broken to point of ticking back and forth, not progressing further, taking literally forever to show the proper passage a second. Talk about exceptional symbolism.
Why would the pandemic prevent you of pursuing your passion of any instrument or anything at all? Does this plandemic prevent us from grocery shopping, drinking alcohol, taking a dump? No sir. Thanks I’ll be here all night.
This is perhaps the most brilliant compression of a story. Ironically, it takes place in the course of one minute and yet somehow doesn't feel rushed in the slightest. Additionally, juxtaposing the wait for the gig with the wait for the food in the microwave is a magnificent demonstration of temporal relativity. Time passes differently in our perspectives depending on what we are doing. The nuanced contrast between the digital timer on the microwave and the analog clock on the wall reflects the subtle difference between time and timing, or the passage of time. Mark Slouka, one of my favorite authors, said it best: "A story is something large seen through a small window. A shard that suggests not only the shape of the pot from which it came, but the mind of the potter on the day that he made it." This film is such a shard in that respect. It's safe to say that more thought went into this 1 minute short than most major motion pictures that are made today. Bravo!
The concept, of 'second-arm being stuck', when he was JUST WAITING N WASTING TIME, being passive to Time n Life, was so triggering a TAKE OFF moment! And Later how he 'lived' that minute, was his flight of Creativity! Wow! Great conception .
This makes me think of the waiting that we all engage in - waiting for better, for tomorrow, to feel free, to have more money, for someone to love us, to be ready, to heal etc. All various excuses to push life away and avoid the vulnerability of being fully human being, living and fully open to the possibility of pain which is a part of being human. Where does that come from? Why do we do it? What part of us does it? What pattern or loop may we be perpetuating?
If you guys haven't noticed ,the youtube red bar that starts right when you start the video is in exact sync with clock's ticking and perfect sync with drum's tempo. Just so satisfying.

This is too good for a one minute piece, such an amazing achievement!
Do not let people kill your passion...as long as you love what you do you will be out of time out of space out of responsibilities out of choice out of this world whatever happens do not bother you
I was very blessed during the pandemic...as an artist, I threw myself into painting 🎨 with a passion. No disturbances or drop in guests and completed 40 paintings in a year and a half. 😅😅😅❤❤❤❤
Still so great. I interpret it as being about how we are set free and can be most creative in those small moments where our mind isn’t preoccupied with something, but those moments are very sparing. I love it, so well done!
Have been using short films on TH-cam for analysis lessons as part of English language tutelage, and I can only think of one other short that comes even close to it (I think I've exhausted TH-cam). Excellent concept and execution. There is so much to discuss with students given the short time; really fantastic writing and a wonderful production. Thank you!
What kind of questions do you ask your students? I was thinking of doing a narration type lesson where to improve speech and thinking on the spot, but analysis also sounds like an excelent idea! :D
@@paulasuzettebravo8597 It sounds nice! I guess it's all about tailoring it to your students. Well the premise of what I do is to pick a film which is entirely visual; no spoken word, which means the student has to work a harder. I ask them first of all if they enjoyed the film, and why, and then how it made them feel. I then ask them to describe what actually happens, what they noticed in particular and what they think the meaning behind the film is. If I feel they have missed something important or if there is some interesting details that invite deeper discussion, I ask more specific and probing questions. Depending on the student and how useful it is to them, I may also ask them to comment on the production values themselves, for example. I then ask them to question me in the same way I have questioned them and get as much information from me as possible. This way they get to experience both sides of the interaction and also gain examples of the same roles they have taken as 'played' by a native speaker.
You guys are easily entertained and are the same people who comment that every video they watch is "amazing" and the "greatest ever." Get out of the house more....this was a guy waiting to play the drums after the pandemic...wow...breathtaking...mind blowing...earth shattering.
Just watched the winners announcement video and wanted to see what the competition was like. Damn good one right here! Gotta give props to anyone else who tried to win with some original music 👍
Great message. It’s important to have a goal to make waiting through any obstacle - pandemic or anything else, - not seems like a worthless waste of time. Motivating yourself puts obstacles into better perspective.
this was pretty cool. Sometimes a short wait can feel like an eternity and our minds begin to race and or daydream. He missed playing with drums. I'm glad he didn't get on his phone. Good job.

That’s the consequences of the pandemic, we have no choice but to delay our plans, wait for the opportunity to come so that we can pursue things we want to do after the lockdown. It’s so brilliant, the way this short movie delivered its message in one minute. Be safe, it’s not our pleasure or choice to stay at home, but it’s our duty. Let’s your imagination entertains your soul. That’s all, peace.
Perfect! I had a roommate whose passion was music and drumming. He never drove a car without tenderizing the steering wheel. Stop light? Just gave the wheel a drum roll and when the light turned green? Top hat and snares. Thank you for the memory!
Check out my new horror film! th-cam.com/video/8ACTI04Iikc/w-d-xo.html
The message is that rather than waiting you can choose to do anything you like, because when you do something you like time will pass, so much faster
The problem is that some people like to do bad things to pass the time. Illegal things.
The clock was broken to point of ticking back and forth, not progressing further, taking literally forever to show the proper passage a second. Talk about exceptional symbolism.
Awesome! Thank you!
Atleast he didn't check his phone. He was creative in his mind
And does that make it different ??
You should see what this cat can do while he is waiting for the toaster to pop or the kettle to boil.
