The best show in watches. Thanks Tim. I’m so glad that you’re making videos for us. Incredibly intelligent and a very nice person to listen to. Thanks for everything you do!
The difference between watches in the 1990s and now is startling. Thanks for a great show and for giving me 3 straight weeks with my watch making the show!
Great show Tim. Second hand and out of context is why people still think you lose 80% of your heat through your head. Step back, go to the source and think for yourself.
Amazing show as usual, thank you Tim and crew. I used to collect vintage watches, I decided to sell most of my vintage watches as the service costs was getting out of hand. I still keep a couple of vintage watches as they were either heirloom watches, or watches that I think I will not be able to buy one again like the Tudor Submariner.
Service costs are the worst part of owning luxury watches. But add the need for potentially unavailable or exorbitantly expensive vintage hands, dials, crowns, etc., and this hobby becomes impossible. I'm into the idea of keeping just one or two good vintage watches. Best, Tim
agree on books as excellent ressources, unfortunately some demand prices I could get a watch for...I understand lederbounds, limited or special editions and yeah I would also pay more for an especially well made one for the coffee table etc., but for research purposes and satisfying curiosity I wish they were available as simple paperback prints
Loved the in-depth coverage in this one, Tim! In my opinion, the term 'new vintage' is one that I don't like, because it can create confusion. Here you use it to describe the youngest vintage watches i.e. the most recently produced. However, some people use it to describe new old stock watches of any age. I think the term 'recent vintage' is better for the meaning you are using in this video. One more point I would make is that the cut-off between 'pre-owned' and 'vintage' is never clear. At the end of the day, who cares where we draw the line?
It only matters in cases where a watch is being marketed as vintage. Part of getting to know a watch and a brand before purchase is getting a sense of where the "vintage" range starts. A new-old-stock GP Laureato Evo from 2003 is just an unsold watch that desperately needs a service. A tritium dial PAM 087 has a better case to make for vintage from that period. A brass movement Journe Resonance definitely does. Best, Tim
At the very least, when you trace a claim to its origin, you can evaluate its validity. Hearsay and general mythology that floats around without a beginning or end can be tough to judge. Best, Tim
I don’t know if the live comments say it (sorry I missed it!) but a Snowdrop is a flowering plant, typically the first plant to grow at the end of winter in the UK and Europe! If you see it you basically know winter is drawing to a close and spring is on the way!
I just caught up on the last 2 episodes & I gotta say…losing Tim from the TH-cam watch community would be a HUGE body blow for me. I was recently in the midst of wasting my time watching another Watch TH-camr(I think it’s an insult to Tim to use “TH-camr” to describe both…but 🤷🏻♂️)implode in real-time I commented …”…is @TimMosso the only Watch TH-camr that ISNT a complete Douche?…” & I meant it. There are still a handful that I feel still have credibility and aren’t either bad people or criminals. However the number seems to be shrinking…FAST. Obviously I hope Tim does what gives him the fulfillment he craves but it would be a sad day for Watch geeks like me
Wow, I'm glad not to be that guy. Hopefully, I can make it through years on TH-cam with my dignity and decency intact. Thanks for supporting the show. Best, Tim

Thank you, Spooky! I'm grateful for having an audience that never requires censorship, policing, or restrictions.

Super bummed I missed this week's stream. We had some bad storms where I'm at, and major power outages. Great show, though as always, Tim!
Thanks for supporting the show any way you can!

Having the memory before sending it off... brilliant!
It worked for me - and not just once.

I love that oyster cult story. So tim to be strategic about emotional attachment 🤙🏽

One should always seek out original sources for pertinent information.
This applies to any subject and will move you along your quest to "foolproof".

@@the1916companywatchreviews you've done very well so far
What happened to WatchBox??!
Where have you been? There was a merger and here we are. Read up on the 1916 company and see how merged.
WatcBox is now the 1916 company.
It's in the bin!
Went down the drain together with the last roll of WatchPapers 😂
So cool
Thanks for watching!
