- We're back with our third Mitski reaction! Today we go back to her debut, LUSH. I sure hope this album doesn't make me too sad!

her first two albums were self released as university projects so she could graduate, and there were no EPs or songs prior. Lush was released all at once and Retired from Sad had a few singles prior and visuals for every song.
I agree on the point that she flexes her vocals more and used to experiment with stuff and it sounds better vocally than the other albums. It just fits her better and it's so good. Lush is my top album for Mitski and I'm someone who listen to everything Mitski
she definitely still experiments a lot with stuff. her production and compositions still break rules even if she uses more synth now. as for vocals, it may in part be because it's easier to get away with that kind of strain on the voice when youre younger. it's also important to remember that she had access to her university's orchestra for this album (which i'm sure would be much more expensive to have a full professional orchestra backing you in studio)

she didn't drop any EPs before Lush. She dropped the whole thing at once. It was self-released.

If you like lush youll really like her other early work Retired from Sad, New career in business!!!
If you like a capella listen to medulla by björk the whole album is just human voice and yes it goes to strange places but I love it
You guys need to add "Boys For Pele" by Tori Amos to the wheel ! It's a great record, her magnum opus
