Never had Filibuster but based on y'all's reactions, I would love to see it show up in some future blinds. And the $10/year rule should really only apply if the whiskey is cask strength.
I have Calumet 12 and its gr8. After this video i will be getting the 10yr. Ive had a pour of the 15 and liked it as well. Best part is they are always available by me. Im also gonna hafta find Filibuster sib . Gr8 video. Cheers
Oh, snap! Filibuster! My local boys! Their BiB won best non-Kentucky small batch bourbon in the 2023 World Whiskies Awards. The Single Barrel Single Estates can be fantastic, but the local grain source seems to be key (they source from two local farms).
Ahhh the 111.10° - I just finished one of those. There was a 114° 3-grain back when they had handwritten details on the bottle that was out of this world. I bought two at $39.99. Truly one of my favorite purchases.
Filibuster really does make great whiskey. Their history hurts them but they have changed bad practices and I'm shocked how good their single barrel and Bottle in Bond are fantastic.
As I recall, you guys did not like the Filibuster store pick that I put in the blind I sent you. It was a four grain. But I'm probably wrong. I'd have to rewatch the video. None of them excite me.
I highly recommend the Filibuster BiB. It’s my favorite Virginia bourbon. Delicious, delicious pour. (Not counting John J Bowman SB for consideration)

I've been seeing and hearing good things about Calumet. May need to look into getting a bottle. Maybe look for the Filibuster as well 🥃
For an extra $20 buy the Calumet 15 or 16 and upgrade to a real hitter. 14 isn't worth the extra.
Cal 16 is $160 around here
@@davidteller7681 $99 for 15 and $110 for 16 in NJ. 16 is almost gone. Dozens of bottles of 15 everywhere.

The $10 per year is only for barrel strength. Not for watered down.
Glad we never had to pay that for ECBP 12-yr!

Ehhh... if you hear the backstory behind that, there's a bit of context that exonerates them. It become more public before long.

I did like your flavor notes on it though. th-cam.com/video/Dw4zFd6H1Q0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EMTC49c6kp4zmJV1
