- We kick off our season by spending the day as guests of Charles and Victoria on their truly superb estate in Welshpool, Wales.
Beautiful location, superb hospitality and one of the most stunning shoot lodges anywhere!

Why do you shoot top barrel first? It causes more barrel flip which must be even more of a problem shooting from a chair! Especially as your shoulder mount is often compromised. It’s good to see you enjoying yourself again. My compliments to your wife for attempting to catch the moment
Hi Stuart, thanks for watching. I've always shot top barrel first and to be honest with modern O/U's there is little barrel flip as the barrels are designed not to flex downward due to the alignment and structure of the barrels reinforcing each other. Good watch.Think chokes not really the problem and you might consider same choking in both for this type of driven shooting.
The first birds were out of range on the chokes I had in, once changed up then they were been reached. No point in having the same chokes in on a shoot where the birds start high and then drop, as the second barrel is generally too tight for the angle. Thanks for watching!

You certainly seem to have sorted out a number of shoots that suit someone with a disability.
I have a breathing problem and find that people are so helpful, providing a buggy to get me to my peg or, in extremis, my fellow guns have even swapped their peg with me.
The shooting fraternity in general, are wonderful people.

Hi Bill, thanks for your comments / questions. I was using a Beretta 687 EELL classic, one of a pair. I like to share the drives between the guns to maintain the same wear and patina's on the wood. Cartridge wise I use Eley Zenith and on this particular day they were 34/4. Thanks for watching!
