Good question. Faith is worked in our hearts through the Holy Spirit. We can't earn faith. We also cannot do good things to earn salvation. James 2:22 ("You see that his [Abraham] faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.") is talking about how faith and works go hand-in-hand. If you have faith in Jesus as your Savior, you will want to do good things to show others how much God loves you. Our good works aren't meant to earn anything but rather as a way to show our love for God by caring for others as he cares for us.

Thank you Jesus for all of you!

Thank you! God bless you
You are so welcome
So does this mean we have to work toward faith not towards salvation? This is what James meant in James 2:22 and so on.
