Hi found your channel while searching for Mondeo as I bought a Mk3 stc from ‘06. last week! Really dig your informative and to the point videoes! Respect! (Nice change from all these overenergetic selfpromoting hothead videoes that seem to be the standard these days!) I dont(!) do very much manual car repair but this is very inspiring and gives me some more confidence! Cheers from a new fan!

I bet the fuel pressure/injector faults are because of a dodgy remap. Try install the bluefin you got, see if it clears at least those 2 faults.

the purpose of the "weird clip and line" to your induction hose i think is that it returns air from the top of your engine (with bits of oil). thats why some people install a catch can, so no oil goes through your intake

Hi James, can you get live data from the rail pressure with your scan tool ?
The range performance code means that the Ecu is expecting a signal/voltage from the rail sensor in relation with the engine speed/load and it doesn’t match ... the tricky part It could be so many things from a bad pump, regulator to just a bad sensor... personally I would measure the signal from the rail sensor with the multimeter first nice and easy and check if does change it values when you accelerate, that would be a good start hence you are not having any trouble starting or stalling... good luck 👍

New subscriber here, thanks to a mate pointing out your new ST interest. Enjoying the style and content so far!
Just wanted to add a note about the Code Reader, did you know you can access a multitude of info from the instrument panel?
It's called 'Self Diagnostics Mode' and this is how to access it (it works on my ST220 and should on any Mondeo with an electronic dash) ....
1). Insert key but do not turn it on.
2). Press and hold the Trip Meter Reset Button.
3). Turn ignition until dash lights come on and continue holding the button.
4). Within 10 seconds the display should change to 'test' in the LCD and the needle will do a full sweep.
    5). Release the button.
With each new press of the button the LCD will cycle through some 17 test modes, including DTC codes and full illumination of the instrument panel.
I owned a Mondeo TDCi for 8 years before getting my ST220 last year and never knew about this. You can also enable functions such as 'Anti HiJack' feature, 'Global Opening' of windows, Turn off 'Seat Belt Reminder', 'Two Stage Unlocking' etc. There's a whole host of hidden features. Enjoy the ST pal and I'll continue to enjoy your vid's :)

After seeing the smoke from the exhaust I was going to suggest maybe a leak off test is due on the Injectors. Better to catch them early otherwise you'll end up replacing all 4. With a egr delete it really shouldn't smoke that much, I'm not pulling this from thin air as I own an St with egr delete and a remap and if I hold it full throttle with a car behind me I see no smoke in the headlights, I get a slight puff if hard accelerating from low rpm (which kills the dmf boys and girls) I've found the best way to drive these is to drive them like a petrol car, don't labour the engine too much and try use a good proportion of the rev range. As for the boost gauge if you have enough tubing then there's a good sized rubber grommet being the battery tray you could use. Oh why I think of it where did you get the boost gauge mounting plate for the vent?

Hi I’m new here, really enjoying the videos.
Can I suggest something you might want to do with the mondo, not sure if it’s video worthy tho.
Swap the bonnet key mechanism out, I couldn’t get into my focus engine bay all over Christmas. Let alone play with things under the bonnet, I couldn’t even fill the water bottle up, it’s a common fault with those type of ford locks.
    eBay have them for £15.

Those two fault codes could be down to a dodgey remap or a cheap tuning box that's already on the car.
If it was my car after changing that pipe I'd flush the fluid out anyway, that stuff looks mankey.
And one last thing, if your feeling the cold (and I don't blame you) get some of the Mechanix gloves off ebay. They are an absolute god send when working on the tools in winter. I usually wear a pair of those under a pair of power tool gloves. You can still use your fingers and feel them!

211th...James the ribs on that pipe are only on the outside and are for strengthening/rigidity(When the turbo is sucking in air the pipe doesn't collapse etc)...so there won't be much of a difference in the 'mechanics' of what those pipes do....the replacement being silicone should last longer and looks a bit better...you should maybe look at replacing any other induction pipes or at least checking them over for splits/wear especially around where they rub against jubilee clips etc...if your car was running 'rich'(too much diesel for instance/black smoke out of exhaust) it could be down to such an issue (although not always)...Like the Mondeo and it being a diesel ST all the more so...Keep up the great work..

that power steering fluid needs a change, its rather black looking and now you have drained most of it out would be worth doing. the hose you removed from the brake servo is not a breath but a vacuum line. you also dont want to supply your boost gauge with a vacuum unless you want it to work as a vacuum gauge, you need take the supply from the pressure side of the turbo.

Great video mate! *Got some suggestions for the Mondeo to make it look more classy and healthier:*
    - First, service it! (new filters and oil!)
    - Refurbish the Ford Mondeo st24 alloy wheels to bare metal look!
    - Put on a ZUNSPORT MONDEO MK3 ST STAINLESS FRONT GRILLE SET!
    - Washing it and Ebay ceramic coating it (+ review of the coating!)
    - Keep the closed airbox but a bit modified because the original one has some air restriction
    + KN filter
    - Put in an android audio unit
    - Put on a very light new window tint
    - Put on some chrome numberplates surrounds + chrome window trim

What sort off dump valve do you have? The car sounds very nice.

No dump valve mate, might have something to do with the waste gate or turbo vains on exhaust side. More noticeable due to decat and non' resonated exhaust or aftermarket back box.

Ah right. Lol. Sounds like you had a very nice dump valve fitted? Sounds very nice tho. Cheers for letting me know.

Not my video mate, just thought I'd give you a little input on the 'Choo noise from turbo as i have replaced many cartridges in my time and had a few turbo's apart, some have waste gates, and some have veins (little valve pivots) that move to adjust boost from the exhaust side hence the noise.
