People say that Mariah is done after 1996. Well this video just proved them wrong. Bow down to Mariah's second vocal peak.
That's so far from the truth. So many great vocal eras after that. They are just all different but I appreciate all of her vocal approaches
But charmbracelet is almost a daydream like era with better whistles. Her live performances are also great in this specific era.
And then a third in 2010-2013!
No I don’t think she was ever done I just think that her vocal range may have gotten a little bit smaller in the past 5 years but she will never be done she is queen💖💕
Ariana Grande the only thing that’s really changed is her ability to belt high today the limit is around E5 amazing for 30 years singing. Lows are easier head voice and falsetto easy too and whistle.

I think Charmbracelet was better than Butterfly because her belts were solid and without strain but had the same range. The ONLY thing Butterfly Era had on CB was agility.
dario V.C.M. I guess I can agree. 1991 and especially 1992 is where you found a solid mixture of 1995 and 1990 in terms of strength and ease. I feel like she just really mixed more in 1995.
dario V.C.M. the emotions era was great. not only was it her most consistent era in terms of live vocals, but it also produced some of her greatest performances. she had that thicker, mature tone of her debut era, just with a little lighter quality to it and some better mixing on her belts

Perfect blend of her beautiful voice, soulfulness, great lyrics, great harmony, her strength after going through so much. This is some of Mariah's greatest work during this era but the media in America didn't promote her and treated her work during this time like a flop.

It’s just something Mariah has done since Daydream. It’s a signature style for her. She had amazing E5-A5 belts on Charmbraclet. Have you heard the Climax of Through the Rain, My Saving Grace, Clown and Subtle Invitation?

Wow she had AMAZING AND VERY HUSKY in this era! And her upper chest register had the same quality when she was in her 20's.. Her voice matured beautyfily .. Her head voice is pretty nice in this era.. And her whistle register in this era is piercing and airy , it's very nice for ears.. Btw at 11:11 F#5 peaksat G5

Eddy6159 Let's be honest here. Mariah had many inconsistencies in Daydream era(some of her G5's were sung in high larynx ex. Hero G5 Paris) and she was quite pitchy. Though it's still considered Mariah's prime because her belts showed much more freedom and she doesn't squeeze the note unlike debut era. Her runs are legendary too.
Charmbracelet is her most amazing studio album vocally. The belts and vocal runs are insane. Some might disagree but as far as live performances are concerned I don't think this is her second prime. I believe she sounds better nowadays than she does in this video. Some of the sustained belts in the video are not live, wheres nowadays she excels at doing sustained belts. On top of that her belts sound raspier in this video than she does nowadays somehow.
dasMediaMedium MC today will never be able to do what she did on that Joy To The World performance. All the notes here are live
Eh. Mariah's midbelts are definitely her strongest point now but her chest voice overall is weaker/more fragile. She was a lot more consistent with belts this era up to F5 and better lows too. She was able to sustain up to E5. Charmriah falls short on agility though. 2013 was a moment

I always loved this era. Her hair was so long, her vocal texture was pure but still smokey. Plus those fucking low notes...come on!

I think she cut it after this era because she probably wanted to straighten it more often, and with how long it was CURLY think of how long it was STRAIGHT (Curly, it was already down to her butt). It was probably heavy as hell. All that hair is pretty but Mariah was probably like "This is more work than it's worth" and proceeded to chop some of that curl off.
I wonder if Mariah will ever try short hair. She is a girly woman but still...I think she would look amazing with short hair.

musicbox - most resonate era with soild belts, great tone, amazing vibrato, breathe support, agility(although slightly less than daydream) nd the most consistent whistles
emotions - great resonance, breathe support, agility, power, tone, whistles nd consistency overall(some of her top performances out of this era)
mariah carey - agility, strength, vibrato, breathe support, power, consistent whistles, resonance, creativity(this era had too much potential; her voice in this era was so big it seemed hard to control, but she did a great job with it)
daydream - ease, best agility(inarguably the most agile voice era in this era), whistles, girly tone, upper belts(1995 was almost perfect but the problem i have with this era is her tour: her placement nd breathe control was all over the place nd she really didn't reach her potential believe it or not)
butterfly - airy tone, agility, soul, power, creativity
charmbracelet - resonance, whistles, breathe support, creativity, control, low notes(i was gonna put it before butterfly, but i was too lazy to change it)

First of all I would like to thank you for making this video. So happy to see this. I would say this is my favorite live Era of Mariah Carey. Of course Daydream Era is her best prime in her entire career when it comes to vocal agility especially her stunning and outstanding belting notes. But if we compare it vocally as whole, during Charmbracelet Era Mariah has everything on hand. The low notes, the belting notes and the incredible whistle notes that were all on point. Not to critic that her whistle register is bad during Daydream Era, but she did skipped some whistle notes during that era. But during Charmbracelet Era she drove those whistle notes on fire and everyone was slayed. Especially while she was doing the band intro in her tour. So I would say Charmbracelet Era is always my favorite live era.

I think this was her best era, period. I know you think I'm reaching but just because she wasn't belting F5-G5s like Daydream (though this was the last era where she was belting F#5s and F5s regularly) and she wasn't very agile (obviously there were exceptions), she had the best balance of belts and whistles (Emotions' whistles were weak above F#6 minus mtv awards) and this was by far her best era in terms of lows (I believe she supported a B2 and multiple C3s in You and I). She didn't lose range, it just lowered down a bit.

@@Fishriah_Ari even though I have grown out of my delusional standing for CB, the Emotions whistles were still pretty inconsistent. Even the ones that were good in pitch we pretty screechy and scratchy sounding.

Just get it she had only one prime and it was 1990-2005 97-00 only was her mature voice transition every singer had issues while their voice are maturing for exp Beyonce, Whitney Houston. 2005and later was very incpnsistant so thats where her prime Ends

@@touka7317 she had like 3-4 performance on the 97 and glitter again had like 2-3 shows so there's obviously not much left but charmbracelet tour so yes and 2005 overall was a great vocal year for her and nodules and maturing 97-00 she was really raspy when you compare to the 96' which she had no rasp it was clear even at g5 belts so yea 97-98 was consistent but very raspy after eb5 99-00 she was so tired and it wasn't raspy it was literally hoarse. And that's why I said 97-00 was maturing process bc after that she got consistent and hit the notes she didnt hit in 98-00

Hmmm.. very interesting, I’m not sure if some of these notes are actually what they say they are. Not trying to be rude. I just have a violin, piano, and flute with me here and I’m playing each song.
