I'm surprised he didn't mention lethal company because it was a suprise great game from a small pebble that made a huge impact when it came out because of the funny moments and such maybe he'll make a video about it someday

Goes to show that 2023 had so many games released that not all were mentioned in the video. In terms of how good the game was, it’s my second favorite game of 2023 right below TOTK.
So far as the Hogwarts Legacy boycott goes, my take hasn't changed since the start. If you want to boycott the game, that is entirely valid and no one should give you shit for it. If you don't want to boycott the game, that is entirely valid and no one should give you shit for it. As long as you aren't slinging hate, you're fine.

Myself, I never liked Harry Potter even before it was outed that JK Rowling is an awful person. So, for me it wasn't a boycott, it was staying the course of continuing not to give a rat's ass about harry potter in any form.

Alan Wake 2 was good, despite some bug and a few scenes that could been written better on Saga’s side of the story though it could be result of epic games taking control of different parts of the story possibly hard to say, but overall kept a lot of the charm despite the differences to the previous.
Really have to wonder what was going on behind the scenes of “The day before” developers to do all this when it became apparent they wouldn’t get what they wanted in return. It definitely was a scam from the start, but I think they clearly underestimated how many liabilities they would have that would require them to release the product after a while and if you ask me they got tired of stringing people along in the scam they reasoned it wouldn’t be profitable and just released it too avoid some kind of legal consequences they may have had.
I enjoyed alan wake 2 just as much as the first but I do agree with others that the image flashes got super obnoxious by the end. I tried to write it off as horror trope like the other stuff in it. If they had done 2 for each part then it would've worked better because I loved the visual but it was too much. Like one as an introduction and one before the big moment I think would've been good. I don't know, that's just my opinion. Still enjoyed it and hoping for dlc.

20:56 Girlfriend Reviews actually made a video about Hogwarts Legacy, clarifying that she didn't cry she just got a bit "Verklempt" (She's Jewish) and doesn't like that her clip was being used by defenders of the Game to shut down criticism as she says in her "Review" that Hogwarts Legacy is "Mid".
I saw that clip. Honestly, I am critical of the game on multiple fronts. But, it doesn't excuse the dregs from pulling that kind of crap.

Honestly I think the only new games from 2023 I played were Jedi: Survivor and FF16. Both were pretty damn good. Especially FF16.

I gotta say it: after brothers in arms hells highway left us on cliffhanger anticipated the battle of the bulge no one has picked it up to finish the story arc😞.

I got Jedi Survivor for Christmas (on Xbox Series X) and so far I’m loving it. I think it blows the first one out of the water, and I loved Fallen Order.
Nintendo might be behind hardware wise, but they know how to make portable systems and how to make fun games.
I wish he mentioned Lies of P which was my personal Goty. I played the holy hell out of that game. Basically Souls-Pinochio. Its one of those games thats so good, if you handed it to me and didnt tell me the developer, i would've believed Fromsoft made it. Its THAT good. To the point where its not a souls-like, its a straight up souls game period. So thats my recommendation if anyone wants to check it out

DUDE i wasnt expecting Nic to mention trepang²! That is definitely my game of the year. The soundtrack, the visceral combat, the scared shitless ai dialogue. everything about it was great. I highly recommend trying it. Also of course as with most indie games, Gianni Matragrano does some voices and even shitposted with it on his channel with the "they come into OUR home, suck OUR dicks and desecrate OUR holy ground! Brothers, LUBRICATE THE TRESPASSERS". He's a weird dude but funny as hell.
Also he made a big mistake here, Armored Core VI has an amazing story

From my understanding, the Zelda movie is gonna be entirely mo-cap, ala Avatar. So we get a combination of live-action and 3d animation. That'll be interesting to see.

One game worth mentioning is F-ZERO 99. A complete blast, IMHO.
I feel another game that deserves a mention is Henry Stickman, it was a really silly game, but a fun one I enjoyed watching on youtube. Honestly, I wish I could have played it.
Luminous Productions shutting down is kinda sad. They were the Final Fantasy XV developers, and I ended up liking that game.

I wouldn't get too excited for bloodline 2 i was you it also has known development problems. In 2020 the narrative lead and Creative Director was let go then in october 2020 the lead writer left the studio and In February 2021, Paradox Interactive announced that Hardsuit Labs was no longer working on the game and was replace with the studio The Chinese Room.
Dont get your hope up too much but stranger things have happened.

I liked Starfield to some extent, but it's definitely the Bethesda game I've invested the shortest amount of time in and will revisit the least. Every good or even great bit was weighed down by some other stupid or outdated design decision.
i didn´t think that the studio itself or the makers of Hogwarts legacy shared JKR´s views on trans ppl by default- what i did think; was that the royalty money from the sale of the game, would likely end up in the pockets of anti-trans groups.

Square Enix threw Luminous under the bus to buy them time for the new Final Fantasy. Square Enix only cares about there poster child. Don't get me wrong I love what Sqenix has been doing with Final Fantasy but the other devs they publish are just a 2nd thought to them.

There's only one King Kong game in my mind and that's Peter Jackson's King Kong. Mainly for that atmosphere in Jack's segments.
I have a lot of critiques for Hogwarts legacy but I give them a pass for all of it cause it's their first attempt at a game like this. I can't wait for the sequel. It does get repetitive after a while but it's a game I'll still have fun coming back to after I take a break from it.

2:55 incorrect Nate. I enjoy starfield but I know it’s not perfect. It’s extremely open so there’s long spans where you do nothing but that’s just space in general. I’m not deluded but I feel that people badmouth starfield too much and give it a worse rap than it deserves. I agree that it’s middle of the range not horrible but not amazing. It’s fun to me. I do however love the ship building. The game needs more creatures on planets and more to do on moons or inhospitable planets like rogue robots or roving terror morphs. It just needs more to do that’s what I feel but do I think it’s horrible far from it.
It might reflect how space is in real life with LLOOOOOOONNNNGGG spans of nothing. But Starfield is a Video Game, not an exploration Space Simulator. A video game is meant to be Fun, Exciting, and make you want to keep playing and come back for more. The only thing I’m interested in Starfield is to rebuild ships from sci-fi games I love like Mass Effect and HALO.

I agree it’s labeled as an open world space exploration game. Which it fits into all categories. But I agree that it needs more. It needs more interactive items on planets like NMS as an example. I need more to do other than fly around in space and land at multiple places. To be honest I think there needed to be more friendly areas to explore and that the factions needed to be expanded upon. For example take Fallout new Vegas as a good example to this. You piss a faction off and you have a kill squad sent to warn you ‘keep messing around your gonna find out.’ Why not have hunters be sent after you by the pirate faction? Or why not make the ecliptic mercenaries a faction themselves? Why not allow me to join the Va’ruun zealots and hunt other factions as a zealot? Give me more to do, make the worlds feel more alive with reasons to explore and maybe it would live up to the hype. At the moment it feels more like a realistic type of space which personally I can handle for others I can understand is disappointing. But I will say the parts that are engaging make me smile the parts where I am doing long story quests I enjoy. The ship building itself is great and hope to see it used in more games. But it needs more.

i wanted to buy hogwarts legacy but it released 1 or 2 months after initial game release in the NL here. i also didnt buy it when it released here, cause i was getting bored about it ( not hating game bur looking up stuff is what i DIDNT want so i could create my own wizard, ,and then i looked up videos) also hogwards legacy is a new IP. jk rowling wasnt even part of the game

If they can fix the what people didn't like and improve upon what they liked, I think theirs great potential. They already got a good foundation to build off of.
