I loved the first season of Bridgerton. And it might take me countless days and nights if I were to attempt listing the reasons why. But perhaps amongst those reasons is the fact Daphne and Simon overcame their imperfections and chose to love. Simon, although seemingly confident, had latent insecurities induced upon him by his late father's traumatic upbringing. He was made to believe that he had to be perfect to be worthy of anyone’s-of Daphne's love. And in a sense, Daphne paralleled Simon's father. The late duke demanded perfection, Daphne was used to it. Daphne grew up with this rather unrealistic perception of romance. She was raised in this facade of perfection (remember the "Flawless, my dear" scene in Episode One). She was taught to play this game of pretend (remember that “Game of Pretend” scene with Eloise in Episode Two). Daphne had this perfect image of married life in mind. She wished to have a household full of laughter and love, she longed to have children. She longed to have what she thought her mother and father once shared. And in Episode Six (6), when she learned of the true reason as to why Simon could not cater to her wishes, she made this grave mistake of violating him. In Episode Eight (8), upon having talked to her mother, Daphne finally realizes that romance does not come without its trials. There is no such thing as a perfect marriage. Marriage requires a constant, conscious decision to love made by two imperfect individuals. In the same episode, the rain scene wherein Daphne stayed on the dancefloor despite the downpour, I believe echoed her finally embracing hardship. And Simon, initially trying to seek shelter echoed his insecurity and eventually deciding to stay in the rain echoed his undeniable love for Daphne. Later in that scene, Daphne tells Simon that the decision of loving her should not be up to anyone else-it can only be up to him. This is a huge contrast to what she did in Episode Six (6). This signifies how she has finally accepted the imperfection in their relationship instead of running away from it. Daphne gave Simon what he had longed for all his life, the one thing his cold and demanding father could have never afforded him: unconditional love. Daphne saw Simon for who he was and chose to love him regardless of his imperfections. And Simon, upon realizing Daphne's unconditional love, finally decided to allow himself the happiness and chose to love her. In the end, they both made the conscious decision of loving one another.
For the first time i watch the scene between the main couple again and again without getting bored. The chemistry between them, the lines, the expression are so perfect.
Phoebe and Rege has this natural organic chemistry that doesn’t require a lot of excessive professing of love & camerawork. They are beautiful together and separately. Phoebe Dynevor is so stunning & accurately acted out a virgin going through a sexual awakening for the first time. Kind of reminds me of Natalie Portman in Black Swan. The world building in season 1 was elaborate and the main plot, and even subplots, was thicker in every sense. While it’s disappointing & wrong that Daphne r-word & violates Simon consent, but I don’t believe the pairing is exclusively reduced to That moment like how many people are treating it to be. I’ll forever miss them in Bridgerton

It's funny that my parents, and I'm 49, put my onto Bridgerton. I am absolutely hooked. The way that Simon, was quite obviously, falling in love with Daphne is what I was going through when I met the love of my life, Madison Christine Dodson. I didn't go through what Simon did with his father but my hesitantcy certainly was. I am older than her but she accepted for who I am; my heart and soul. I love her in a way that I have loved no other human being. She is already my best friend and I can only pray that she will do me the honor of being wife one day. I love you, Madison ❤️

I loved the first season of Bridgerton. And it might take me countless days and nights if I were to attempt listing the reasons why. But perhaps amongst those reasons is the fact Daphne and Simon overcame their imperfections and chose to love.
Simon, although seemingly confident, had latent insecurities induced upon him by his late father's traumatic upbringing. He was made to believe that he had to be perfect to be worthy of anyone’s-of Daphne's love.
And in a sense, Daphne paralleled Simon's father. The late duke demanded perfection, Daphne was used to it. Daphne grew up with this rather unrealistic perception of romance. She was raised in this facade of perfection (remember the "Flawless, my dear" scene in Episode One). She was taught to play this game of pretend (remember that “Game of Pretend” scene with Eloise in Episode Two).
Daphne had this perfect image of married life in mind. She wished to have a household full of laughter and love, she longed to have children. She longed to have what she thought her mother and father once shared. And in Episode Six (6), when she learned of the true reason as to why Simon could not cater to her wishes, she made this grave mistake of violating him.
In Episode Eight (8), upon having talked to her mother, Daphne finally realizes that romance does not come without its trials. There is no such thing as a perfect marriage. Marriage requires a constant, conscious decision to love made by two imperfect individuals.
In the same episode, the rain scene wherein Daphne stayed on the dancefloor despite the downpour, I believe echoed her finally embracing hardship. And Simon, initially trying to seek shelter echoed his insecurity and eventually deciding to stay in the rain echoed his undeniable love for Daphne. Later in that scene, Daphne tells Simon that the decision of loving her should not be up to anyone else-it can only be up to him. This is a huge contrast to what she did in Episode Six (6). This signifies how she has finally accepted the imperfection in their relationship instead of running away from it.
Daphne gave Simon what he had longed for all his life, the one thing his cold and demanding father could have never afforded him: unconditional love. Daphne saw Simon for who he was and chose to love him regardless of his imperfections.
And Simon, upon realizing Daphne's unconditional love, finally decided to allow himself the happiness and chose to love her.
In the end, they both made the conscious decision of loving one another.
For the first time i watch the scene between the main couple again and again without getting bored. The chemistry between them, the lines, the expression are so perfect.

Phoebe and Rege has this natural organic chemistry that doesn’t require a lot of excessive professing of love & camerawork. They are beautiful together and separately. Phoebe Dynevor is so stunning & accurately acted out a virgin going through a sexual awakening for the first time. Kind of reminds me of Natalie Portman in Black Swan.
The world building in season 1 was elaborate and the main plot, and even subplots, was thicker in every sense.
While it’s disappointing & wrong that Daphne r-word & violates Simon consent, but I don’t believe the pairing is exclusively reduced to That moment like how many people are treating it to be. I’ll forever miss them in Bridgerton

Wow loved this drama and Daphne and Simon were really so good together. The love scenes were fabulous. It's a good change to come back to an English romance after watching very very modest Korean Kdramas.

It's funny that my parents, and I'm 49, put my onto Bridgerton. I am absolutely hooked. The way that Simon, was quite obviously, falling in love with Daphne is what I was going through when I met the love of my life, Madison Christine Dodson. I didn't go through what Simon did with his father but my hesitantcy certainly was. I am older than her but she accepted for who I am; my heart and soul. I love her in a way that I have loved no other human being. She is already my best friend and I can only pray that she will do me the honor of being wife one day. I love you, Madison ❤️

The touch, the hands, the words...the lil things, how they really wanna just be close to each other but something is holding them back, Daphne experiencing it for the first time, daymn. I mean all those movies claimin to be just romantic n full of nudes basically didn't have any impact, rather u feel like to criticize how bizzare the story is OR just a comedy watching with friends.
