I still have the box I purchased back when this released. I played not he private server for a bit and need to go back and check it out again. I really like this game as well
Played the original release very heavily and did check out a private server a while back, will check it out again if there are more people. I loved the original's pvp, but once the servers got unbalanced and ea stopped caring.
its averages about 400 players at any given time. Around 300ish on lows. The biggest issue the server has is the hardcores have accounts and toons on both sides to manipulate the sway of the zone wars. To elaborate on then swaying the PvP. A good handful of the end game players do not want throne cities to be captured and would rather have it stay in certain zones to keep the combat going and keeping the renown flowing (PvP experience)
The other problem is I can see veteran players playing low level characters, but it's obvious that they're experienced and the group is coordinated. Not really fair to newcomers. But overall, its been great.
@@pvprangergod4024 Ranks 1-39 was fine for me, there were some premades and experienced groups, but mostly OK. Rank 40 was brutal at first, as a melee class, made me want to quit. I had to change everything around and focus on defense and support for now. But overall it's still OK, still playing.
@@MakeYouFeelBetterNow yeah i played it for a long time before quitting fully. its just so grindy, alot of people quit long before they get fully geared. which is sad.

I just started Warhammer Online last week and it's been great. Love it so much, I'm level 22 already. That it's free is even better. If you like reading quests, it's well written, but if you just accept quests and don't read, I wouldn't bother. The public quests can vary, most are only OK, some are great, but PVE is not the focus. They made changes to make it more overall fun, there's lots of action, lots going on.
Oh man, Warhammer Online. I still have my fancy Collector's Edition box stashed away somewhere. (I should probably paint the special mini that came with it someday.) The game deserved much more than what it got from EA, bless the server emulation community for giving it a new lifeline - and not just recreating but improving the game from what it was in retail. For example, I remember the Bright Wizard being quite busted back then. I feel like the RoR team did some extra class balancing - a good BW can still chunk you hard, but it's no longer the instant-death nuke I dreaded coming across in Norsca battlegrounds back in retail.
Played this when it came out. I was able to be the first chaos player on my server to max renown. I played it a lot for 10 months or so. Lots of innovative ideas that other mmos have copied. Big battles just didn’t work.
WO is awesome, actually I didn't even know such a game existed :D I'm a relatively "young" warhammer fan. Personally, I didn't last long in WO because I simply don't enjoy PvP and there is no other content in the game or it is not played. Anyway, every warhammer fan should try this game, it's free and the server is maintained by passionate fans. Going through some of the scenery is definitely fun.
Loved the game so much when it came out, but the endgame of sieging a fort and running to another fort was not to my liking. But the PVP was awesome, because at the time (and till this day) it was the only mmo that allows you to resurrect players on the fly (no 10sec casting time). The pvp (not open world) matches even allowed resurrecting and every healer class did damage as a way to recharge it's healing resource. They had the best "formula" for a pvp healer. And yeah, they invented the whole "public quest/event" thing. The main reason it struggled, was it released ONE MONTH after Wrath of the Lich King and lots of mmo player couldn't play two subscription games at the same time. But most people playing it were friendly adults and the Warhammer world wasn't as known as much as it is today. Also Warhammer online gave you a title reward if you blocked a certain number of players :D
I agree about the best formula for PvP healers (an energy like system is such a better solution and the ability to cast certain spells on the move feels really nice). I think the biggest blow up compared to other popular MMORPGs are just how good tanks are in this game! They have an actual role and are extremely important and impactful. Maybe there's a game I haven't played, but I haven't seen a better formula for PvP tanks than in this game, and it's not even close.
I had no idea this game was brought back from the trash heap of obsolete MMOs. I loved playong when it came out, but the server population quickly died off. I look forward to giving it another shot this weekend.
This is a totally PvP game. It's all about the WAR. You even should do as little quest as it is possible, and focus your entire leveling on PvP to reach the highest level with as much PvP renown as it is possible, to be able to buy and wear the best possible PvP endgame gear the moment you hit the endgame. Entire endgame of this game is PvP. And it's the best PvP experience ever.
I played this game starting with early closed beta until about a year or so after it released. The game's PvP was incredibly fun in Tier 1, 2, and 3. But when you got to the end game, Tier 4, that was when it all broke down and fell apart, and is ultimately why the game died. The reason the first three tiers were fun was because the zones were small and fights were encouraged. in Tier 4, the zones were very spread out and fighting the other side was actually discouraged because you wanted to take keeps when the enemy wasn't around for the rewards. Trying to take the keeps when there was an active defense force was incredibly difficult so people did everything they could to avoid it. Practically every day each side swapped which one got to fight the other's capital. It just got old fast. As for the PvE, it's nothing special, forgettable, and is not the reason anyone played it.
I want to play this again so bad but as someone who lives in Texas the latency was terrible and made the game less responsive while putting me at a bad disadvantage even while just questing.
I’m seeing a lot of those vids lately and I guess it’s good for the server. But BUT devs have a gem 💎 in their hand and they still find a way to messing most of the things badly. The game should be max pop everyday all day; But it’s not.
A company should remaster this because it is an absolute gem and i think now it would be amazing as opposed to before when it competed with WoW in its peak is what caused issues
the ROR private server GMs are garbage and power tripping constantly. they have serious mental issues, everyone in the community hates them. to the point many people have quit. its quite dead game now.
Whens the Dark Age of Camelot play through? Played Warhammer at launch and few times on the private servers. PvP is so fun. Love how tanks are actually useful in pvp as well. The game could of been great is EA didn't rush launch to compete with WoW. Was missing a good chunk of content. Balance was horrible for long time.
when i startet working on the server we hat 12 players ^^ and basicly nothing worked its come a long way curently 900 players online the more ppl report on it make vids specaly content creators he more pop you will have max i thing we had was over 3000 players online
I loved this game so much, huge fan of the Warhammer Fantasy IP (Old World... hate AoS now, tho.. ugh) played until the last minute it went offline... mostly a Knight of the Blazing Sun ( really liked the aura twisting mechanic) and Engineer, but also liked the White Lion and Warrior Priest... and their Destr. counterparts (Chosen, Magus, Disciple of Khaine and Marauder) had so much fun in RvR... not enough PvE dungeons tho... BTW I think it's pretty obvious that GW2 'got inspiration' from some stuff WAR did very good (Public Quests, all the info gathered in the Tome of Knowledge, RvR, well RvRvR is from DAoC but same developer). Too bad when EA bought Mythic made them rush the game, they thought they had the 'wow killer', =/ , didn't even had all careers when it went live. Regardless I loved every minute of it.

Unfortunately when they released the first expansion pack it killed it for me and most of my friends the performance issues and bugs got worse and things from the base game never got fixed. Death of a game did a pretty good video about the game failing and why. Thanks for the video it still makes me smile whenever a WO video drops in my feed
I started playing with my brother recently and ive never been one for healing in mmos, but healing in this game is actually fun. Archmage and shaman are my favorite classes.
I still have a sealed box of this game sitting on my display shelf with my other treasured collectibles...
I'm super hyped to play now Cant wait to start up again I did play when it originally was released so it will be really cool.
Brother make more videos we are back the Reckoning is here and forever! enjoining this game like so much more than i love steak touching real grass or eating a steak the people online are amazing!!!
I still have the box I purchased back when this released. I played not he private server for a bit and need to go back and check it out again. I really like this game as well
This video unlocked a core memory for me. I totally forgot that I had even played this game 🥴
One of the few mmo where you can play 30min and still get alot of fun and still get progression. Without grinding boring stuff
Pantheon is live , for $50 you can try it out early, then get access to beta for free. Only for people who want a challenging old school mmo though
whys it $50 for a oldschool mmo. should be free2play. nobody is gonna pay.
As a fellow caffeinated dad i approve this video. Also been getting back into return of reckoning and its lively for how long its been running
Fun fact about Warhammer Fantasy. It was the first to give us green orcs.
I'm currently addicted to Ultima Online Outlands, another great game brought to life by some dedicated people in the UO community!
Played the original release very heavily and did check out a private server a while back, will check it out again if there are more people. I loved the original's pvp, but once the servers got unbalanced and ea stopped caring.
Ive been playing these last 2 weeks. Its amazing, play it now
its averages about 400 players at any given time.
@@MakeYouFeelBetterNow yeah you just get owned until you get max level and max gear.
@@pvprangergod4024 For now, the server is kicking and alive. Yeah, you get tired of anything after awhile, it will be the same with this, but for now, it's really fun.
I was there when it was first day live, shame the official servers were shut down
I just started Warhammer Online last week and it's been great.
(I should probably paint the special mini that came with it someday.)
The game deserved much more than what it got from EA, bless the server emulation community for giving it a new lifeline - and not just recreating but improving the game from what it was in retail.
The game has alot going for it tbh
Best part is that even that it is a PvP game you can only PvP in the PvP zones and also can just reach max lvl by playing PvP
I just want a 40K version of this. Want to play as a Chaos Space Marine and just destroy everything.
Lost a chunk of my life to this game back in 2009. If I was awake, and not at work, I was playing. Awesome game! Warrior Priest!!!!
On release, I had a good time playing a goblin shaman.
Renown applies to everything about your character, regardless of what you're doing
I had no idea this game was brought back from the trash heap of obsolete MMOs. I loved playong when it came out, but the server population quickly died off. I look forward to giving it another shot this weekend.
This game is so great, and the community is like none other! Please check this game out. it's free and so worth a try!
Loved me some WHO back in the day, didn't realize it was still a thing.
I only wish it had better PvE. Nothing else.
edit: I am a non-PvP player who enjoyed WAR greatly. Maybe I write about it.
This game has the best RvR Open PvP since DAOC.
I’m gonna give it a try with my homie soon I usually play wow and have played guild wars and eso and swotor
Public quests are the best in any MMO
I've actually really enjoyed them tbh!
They need to officially bring this and Tera back both were incredibly fun but out of the 2 i think tera would thrive now
I really wish someone would revive Rift already.
One of the best MMO’s ever. No question
Its basically the one of, if not the best pvp game ever made
A company should remaster this because it is an absolute gem and i think now it would be amazing as opposed to before when it competed with WoW in its peak is what caused issues
can't because its all copyrighted
@pvprangergod4024 sad 😔
The more I learn about Warhammer Online, the more it seems like it was just ahead of it's time as well as being a bit rushed for the launch.
the ROR private server GMs are garbage and power tripping constantly. they have serious mental issues, everyone in the community hates them. to the point many people have quit. its quite dead game now.
I still have my collectors edition box of this
Awesome! ❤
Please come play if you read this comment. Destruction needs you on the frontlines
I haven't been able to find much or any pvp in the past 2 weeks. When are the prime time hours for pvp in this game?
population used to be around 3K, now is more like 300...
when i startet working on the server we hat 12 players ^^ and basicly nothing worked its come a long way curently 900 players online the more ppl report on it make vids specaly content creators he more pop you will have max i thing we had was over 3000 players online
The pop that plays it are very dedicated.
It's really good fun!
Ahhhh sometimes i miss my black ork.😊😊😊
This is still getting played?
Im jumping back in today. I haven't played in about a year or so
I loved this game so much, huge fan of the Warhammer Fantasy IP (Old World... hate AoS now, tho.. ugh) played until the last minute it went offline... mostly a Knight of the Blazing Sun ( really liked the aura twisting mechanic) and Engineer, but also liked the White Lion and Warrior Priest... and their Destr. counterparts (Chosen, Magus, Disciple of Khaine and Marauder) had so much fun in RvR... not enough PvE dungeons tho...
Give New World a shot, its a blast since the new release
