    Hello my man, I appreciate you taking time to make this video. I just got accepted into OTS this past week and head to Maxwell sometime between Jan and Mar 2019. This helped me quite a bit and brought extra insight.
    Good luck to you!

      Congrats on your acceptance! Thanks fantastic. Thank you for the kind words, I will be making many more videos about OTS in the future. Is there anything specific you need to know so I can cover that?

    Thank you so much for this video and your channel! I’m trying to apply for COT as a flight nurse and like you mentioned in your introductory video, not a lot of info out there for officers. You got a new sub! I look forward to more videos on the officer side of the AF!

      Was it a long wait for a date after you got accepted?

    • @idhungw
      @idhungw 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Andr3wcot7 yes. I applied in mid 2017.

      Good luck! I'm still waiting which is fine since I get to train for the physical demands of OTS.

      @Andr3wco7 awesome and thank you. Im working out doing my push-ups and sit ups and running my body hurts lol. Sorry I misunderstood your earlier question. I got accepted in late June and my cot is 8/13/18 however my recruiter called me earlier this week to push my date back another month so that I can reupdate my fingerprint. Good luck to you!

    For name tapes, should I get velcro, or just ones ready to be sown on? I've given up on getting uniform items, and just got everything else you mentioned. Thanks.

    Hey I’m so glad to see your video, and it was recently published. Many of the OTS prep videos are out of date. I have my date for this June 26. I’m civilian and do not have any access to a base exchange. I was going to buy my uniforms from kellac but they ask for rank patches and I am not sure what rank insignia I should order for my ABUs. what is your tip for rank patches?

    • @theairforceofficer2663
      @theairforceofficer2663  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats on the selection! Your recruiter should be able to get you a visitor pass to get onto a base, but if that's still not possible - order 2nd Lt rank patches and have them sewn on at the end of OTS. You won't wear any rank at all that is sewn on during OTS. They will give you "Cadet Rank" that you will pin to your collar.

      I'm also heading out the 26. See you there

      So did you get your items ahead of time and have your name already sown on?

    For the ABUs, my recruiter advised me to get my Name and USAF tapes but not to worry about the AFSC badge. Is this misinformation?

    Where can you buy ABUs or OCPs and name tags?

    Very informative video! If I may ask, how does the process of actually getting to Maxwell AFB work? Do they ship you out by plane if you live quite far out? I've also heard people drive themselves there.

    • @Andr3wco7
      @Andr3wco7 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I heard that they pay for you. You can either go by car or plane (your choice). Many go by car because they also pay for your hotel rooms and you get to have a mini-road trip and do some excursion before your induction. This is what I've heard though, let's see what The Air Force Officer says about it. He's kindly active in this comment section.

    This was incredibly helpful. I leave for OTS next week and the packing list on the website was pretty vague. This cleared up some things.

      The Air Force Officer Thanks I am! I'm a bit nervous too though, I have no prior military experience

    • @theairforceofficer2663
      @theairforceofficer2663  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was also non-prior, but they try to create the flights half priors and half-non priors so the can help get you spun up on military customs and what not. Rest assured, there will be many other non-priors with you.

    Are you allowed to bring medicine like Advil or zicam for colds? Or is that a no no

    • @theairforceofficer2663
      @theairforceofficer2663  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, definitely. I'd probably advise you to bring some because a lot of my flight-mates were pretty sore and the Advil helped a lot. You will be able to keep them in your medicine cabinet.

    Why did it take you two years before going through OTS? Or did I read your bio wrong.

    Can you bring prescription medication? Do they ask for a list of prescriptions at OTS if you do bring them?

    • @theairforceofficer2663
      @theairforceofficer2663  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Case A you can, but if they are prescribed you have to let them know in case anything happens

    Hello.I'm current Air force reserve enlisted, I would like to apply air force officer. First of all How could I contact to someone.?Recruiter or Education office on base ? I really don't know how to start to be air force officer.

    • @theairforceofficer2663
      @theairforceofficer2663  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Nam - I would suggest talking with your supervisor and Flight CC first and encourage them to bring it up to your Sq CC just so they're prepared and on the same page. Visit the education office for more information but you will need to link up with an Officer Recruiter near you to get the application process started.
