Street Food at Kyoto’s Famous Arashiyama

Arashiyama is one of my favorite areas in Kyoto. It has everything. Beautiful views, temples, street food and shopping. I’m trying out some colorful Dango and raindrop cakes I found on my walk.

I missed watching your videos over the summer and am glad you are back to making new ones. Arashiyama seems like a peaceful and serene place. As for the food, I liked much of the food you tried. Honestly, though, I am not a fan of matcha, and pairing it with sweet beans would not be an improvement. I know it was a cooling treat for you, but I would have preferred the shaved ice alone or with a fruity topping. Thanks for sharing.

Our shaved ice is not as nice. It’s just frozen ice with sugary flavor squirted on. Yours looks much yummier. Glad to have you back.

We had a ryokan booked there but had to cancel our trip to Japan due to that that shall not be named. Of all the experiences we missed out on that was the one that disappointed me the most. Thanks for taking me there !

I love raindrop cake. I got one from Bokksu and have dreams of trying it again someday. It's a simple and lite dessert but packs a punch of flavor from the black sugar syrup and soybean powder.

Thank you for this video! It really took me back to when I visited in 2016. Such great memories of a beautiful place. If you have the opportunity, I’d recommend visiting the Daihikaku Senkōji Temple. It’s a bit of a hike, but absolutely stunning views, especially when the leaves begin to change! 😊

I went there last month. I was not prepared for how strenuous the climb to the monkey park would be in the height of summer! Definitely need the cooling food and drink.

I tried to get into the rain drop type jelly but I didn’t like the texture. Idk maybe it is because it was from a subscription box and not fresh. I will try it if I ever go to Japan.
