Since the pink hat is superwash, you’ll be able to stretch the heck out of it in blocking. Hopefully that’ll help. Mine have grown more than an inch on some!
If you steam your fiber it should open it up and make it easier to redraft.

You might like the new Cozy Slouchy Socks by Lauryl Fine (aka West Maven and Knit All the Things) which use up scraps of mohair and are really lovely. I test knit them and I love mine.

Hmm... With the armhole steeks, without having access to the pattern, I think it's to avoid knitting back/front with the colourwork and just continue in the round? When I converted a colourwork pattern from flat to steek/in the round, steeking at the armhole meant the increasing/decreasing was tidier than binding off to decrease if it was worked flat. When you cut steeks it's always cut straight and not at an angle. Again, not sure how your pattern is, but if you give yourself enough allowance at the underarm, you might be able to steek then pick up underarm stitches to knit the sleeves? Then it's slightly less fabric than if you were to sew in set-in sleeves.

I don't have the pattern, but for the Coverlet pattern, could it be it's steeked because of the motifs not fitting in nearly into a repeat in the yoke and it meant the designer would have had to chart out a lot more? I know space is at a premium in a magazine...

For the fiber- try fluffing it out (to make it wider) before drafting. And sometimes, it has a direction so try drafting from the other end just in case. Hope it gets a little easier, felted fiber isn't fun to work with!

I think the steeking is so you don’t disrupt the colour work chart. I think it’s possible to modify but waiting for someone else to do it is way easier

Thank you for your comment! I didn't follow a pattern, but I did check a couple DK weight sock patterns first to decide my cast on amount. I went with 48 stitches (pretty standard for DK weight), 2x2 rib cuff, all stockinette sock and a traditional slip stitch heel and wedge toe. Hope that helps!
Hi, I am currently on the storm sweater on the body section. I was wondering if I have to join both sides and then start the spotters section on page 15? I have joined both sides and am in the round by lut not sure how I’ll follow the chart? If anyone could help me please🙏🏼 I am also using a cash merino yarn in a basil colour and the diamonds and slanted lines section doesn’t seem to pop out like the lighter colours do you think it’s just because of the colour of the yarn?
I'm not great at online pattern support, but yes you start working the chart of pg 15 and always go from right to left as you read. I recommend looking up online for some resources on how to knit charts in the round, they might help :) good luck!
