Oh my gosh!!! The octopus reference has been my phrase for many years! I say I wish I were an octopus so I could knit, cook, crochet , sew all at the same time!! Or knit 4 pair of socks at once!

I know the feeling so much in my head I want to do but I too only have 2 arms!
First of all, that bright blue is your color! You look stunning in it. Your hair and glasses go so well with it. I love those frames. Ok…now…you have always been my inspiration! When I found you a few years ago, I devoured your tutorials, ordered the “ color wok needles” and bought most of your patterns. ( couldn’t buy everyone because I wanted all of the yarn, as well). Anyway…I’ve yet to do one pair of color work socks! 😂😂. But this is it! My goal is to complete my socks I’m knitting now and then give the color work a whirl! I have some oral surgery coming up, and if I am able to concentrate, I will begin the pair then. I may even be able to send you a photo on IG. Btw, I wanted to add that it is so nice to see you knit English rather than continental. You are a fast knitter, too. I always felt badly that continental is just not that comfortable for me ( which is funny since I’m left handed). Thank you so much for your time, talent, and creativity. You certainly are “da bomb”. ❤❤❤.

Hi Summer, I have really been enjoying your videos!!! I love knitted socks but tend to feel bogged down while knitting them, so you have really inspired me to enjoy knitting my socks more and to have fun with colors. As I have been watching your past few videos I have been knitting myself some Regia self-striping socks in a coral, lime green, rosy brown and light gray colorway that I love for Spring. Also your house and your porch are beautiful!
An idea to save the label, when you are cakeing the yarn, put the label in the middle of the cake
I loved the quote about taking on too much. You should just wait until we all knit all of your socks to see it in many different palettes. 🎨 do you provide hashtags?
I haven’t tried colorwork in socks yet, although I’ve knit colorwork sweaters. I’m going to try it with this sock. I didn’t see it when you first showed the colors, but you nailed it. I’m really enjoying your podcast! Thanks for sharing your process.

I enjoyed that so much! Your socks are amazing. I just love your house. We don’t really have houses with front porches here in Scotland, at least not where I live, but I did live in Australia for a number of years and I can see similarities in house styles. I would love a front porch to sit and knit in, but the reality is it would probably be too wet or windy or freezing for most of the year. I suppose we can’t have it all. 🤷♀️ You did a great job sprucing up your porch, although I really didn’t think it was too bad to begin with! 👍💕

I am so excited my copy of your book will be here tomorrow just in time for my week long staycation! I’m a fairly experienced with knitting basic socks but I’m so excited to finally give colorwork socks a try!
When you cake up your yarn skeins you can wrap the label around the outside of the cake and secure it with a piece of tape. This is assuming you like to pull the working yarn from the middle. I used to fold up the label and tuck it into the center of the cake but that was super annoying when knitting. The label around the outside works like a charm! 15:49
My mom loves Vampire Diaries she has all the DVDs I read the book in high school and just couldn't get into the show maybe I'll give it a try again. I'll start once I finish Queen Charlotte on Netflix. I love watching you create your socks. My book will finally be here next week I did get the ebook too because I couldn't wait.

So glad I found your channel last fall. Im upping my sock game. Wouldn’t you know , something is happening in my wrist…. Not carpal tunnel. Been there done that. I’m seeing the hand Dr next week. I’m knitting anyway and taking otc pain meds and resting it. I tried last spring to up my sock game and something interfered with my knitting. I’m bound and determined that 2024 I will knit more than 2 pairs of socks🧦🧶🧦. Love watching you knit and love all your color combinations

I stumbled upon your channel earlier in the week, I watched last week’s episode and immediately bought your book, which I absolutely LOVE! I’ve been knitting socks for years, and I always have a pair on my needles, they make fantastic take along projects and I wear my wool socks every day, unless it’s over 75 degrees, but if I’m hiking and it’s 80+, I’m wearing wool socks. I’m looking forward to knitting your patterns and trying your tips.
BTW, I can’t remember ever laughing and smiling so much, as I do when watching your videos; I’m making my way through your other videos and they’re so much fun and you’re projects are so inspiring. Thank you!

I like to save the labels of all the socks I knit each year. I put them into a ziplock bag and write the name of the person I knitted the socks for on the label. This practice helps me remember what I knitted for each person, and it also includes the care instructions in case they forget. Gosh, I just love your videos.

Beautiful socks! I love color knitting, and have knit many, many different color work hats. I am ready to expand into socks, and your episode was an inspiration. I love the porch-so peaceful. I hear you with the refinery odors. I grew up in a town near a paper mill and when the inversion sent those lovely odors of rotten eggs into our valley-it was NOT delightful. We also had many lumber mills with teepee burners in town, so lovely odors were plentiful.

I use Google sheets for pattern planning - almost same idea as using excel. Then, I can export or share so easily from there.

I also wanted to thank you for a colorwork sock that has a heel flap and gusset construction. That is my preferred method, those patterns are rare and I hope we might see more of them someday. Thanks for sharing you process for color choices in so many of your videos. Color is a hard part of knitting for me. I just got your book so I hope to learn more about color. Was that a Blue Heeler in the back ground I saw. I have such a dog in my family. On second look I believe your friend in the background is a husky.
Love your socks and your porch! You will get used to the braces. I had them as an adult actually same type of hardware you have. Most of my adult friends that got braces after me did Invisalign. Interestingly, they all ended up doing the hardware thing for various reasons.
I thought it was a wig on the couch next to you but it was a doggo 😆
