Also, during the Stormblood MSQ you could technically offer to pay for un-pawning Gosetsu's sword, but Alphi insisted on having it come out of the scion's coffers.
I went with the first option because it felt most true to my character. One million isn't really that much when you're sitting on a few hundred million and you know you can easily earn it back. I knew they wouldn't take it anyway, but it was still the most appropriate answer.
@@Theghostatthewindow Flipping things on the marketboard and making a lot of the top end stuff people need and buy regularly, for the most part. I spend a decent amount of time crafting and selling. There's a lot of money there. I used to spend what I earned on mounts, pets and orchestrion rolls, but now that I have most of the ones I want, I really just do it out of habit to keep up with the game, so my spending habits have severely reduced. When you earn a lot but spend almost none of it, it piles up really quickly.
@@Chisien That's very normal. You're occupied with your job quests and doing the story and haven't focused on making money yet. You'll get there (if you want to, ofc) once you're done with the story. In the meantime, just enjoy the cutscenes and see if you keep liking the game. You can still do all the other stuff it has to offer after.

So. I genuinely thought that this scene actually had tracked what your most expensive MB purchase was. Back in 5.4 I purchased Return to Oblivion for about 3.4Mil. Since then I go to great lengths to avoid the MB, something is VERY wrong if I purchase something that costs more than 20k on the MB. Then I learned that, no, no it did not track your purchases on the MB, just that the option Literally Specifies Return to Oblivion, an Orchestrion Roll from The First. Who the fuck at Square Enix is following my every move. (Of course now my Coffers Overfloweth, the power of having a Solo FC with Submersibles, Quick Ventures, and Materia).
See, I thought this was tailored to me, because I literally just blew my last 3mil I had on "Return to Oblivion" the same day I did this quest. Now I don't know if I'm happy that it wasn't shaming me personally or upset that I'm so easily predictable.

I didn't like any of the options as it was clearly a scam in the first place. There is no issue paying up if it's worth the price and but it wasn't and also lvl90 botanist should know better. Doesn't matter how much money i have, never give in to scams as you're empowering them to scam others.
