A shortened version of the speech from Emet in the Shadowbringer's MSQ, for Patreon supporter: Bijou ♥ I haven't watched the original cutscene in a very long time and I thought I would challenge myself by adapting it from memory. Needless to say, this was really fun to do, and I clearly put more effort into animating Emet than anyone else here because, let's be fair, he always steals the show 😎 If you're interested in an animation request, please check out our Patreon page! www.patreon.com/ureshiiiiii
Emet really does. He's such a beautifully tragic "villain". Expertly written in almost every way in the Shadowbringers and on expansions. His character will forever spoil me for what a "good villain" is in videogames.
Hi i found and like your very nice vids, i love your artstyle, its so beautiful, ..and i would like to kindly ask: is it allowed to use your miku/anime-shader video material for "video remixes" (not the final fantasy ones) and show it online as well (by giving credits). Of course with completely different music, because that would be the purpose. Music mainly from Europe and America, and of course the scenes were completely shifted. Its like the ones of the Channel "T WORD REMIX" (if you remember him), .. and Of course i would mention you in the channel (Credits and Linking). Even with Splash-Screen in the "Target Video". .. Examples you can see on my Channel. It's just a private hobby and i dont have the CPU power to render my own MMDs, and i doesn't make any money from youtube channel. Due to TH-cams copyright policy this is impossible anyway :-). there would be no harm to you. Pls write me here, or just comment your permission wording in one of my videos. even if you are against it, please write me briefly. At least that way I know that the message was sent correctly by the server. Kind regards, Much Love
How do you create your animations? I currently only work with Blender for my animations, however I was wondering if there's something with a better workflow for FFXIV specifically. Looks like a pain in the butt to pull models and textures from ffxiv.
This is fantastic. So much added powerful emotion within the micro-expressions. If the ingame cutscenes were physically as good as the already amazing voice acting, good grief, FFXIV would be unstoppable.
They were in 1.x but the cutscenes had two major flaws, anytime a player was viewing a cutscene it was basically loaded for all currently online players or something like that and they were pretty much too good. Fully animated and all cutscenes had voice acting as well if i remember correctly(probably not)
@@rinnnnnnnnnnrinRinOnishi I don't know about the technical load, but the issue with how they were made is they took too many resources. Using motion capture instead of more general animations took a lot if resources so few cutscenes.
@@player554 I think what they mean is that the cutscene animations themselves would be more akin to what we’re used to seeing from Final Fantasy, and a lot of the numbered games after 11 have *phenomenal* cutscenes
Emet Selch is probably one of the most memorable RPG villains of all time. Not because he has a grand plan, and can calculate every possibility. Not because he's insanely powerful. And not even because he's an effectively an immortal evil bent on world destruction. It's just that in the end, he's reasonable. He and the Ascians are ultimately what the Scions would be if the world were ended, and they were given only one possible option to bring it back to what it once was. And in the end that he was once a heroic individual whose deeds were very similar to the Warrior of Light's. The ultimate difference is he watched his world end, and sees a shadow of what could be. There are plenty of 'final boss battles' in RPGs. Most are meant to ultimately feel like a great triumph over an evil that threatened everything. But when you take down Emet Selch, and he begins fading away... it's a hollow victory. There is no sense of triumph. No sense of you've done the heroic thing by taking down a great evil. Just a longing for another way, and his final words.
Literally my favorite character and I feel with his lost memories he is a completely different person. Calculated and dedicated to what is presented. We need him brought back.
Because every villian in ff14 has a reason and its anchored in emotional reality that allows you to understand where they were coming from in the beginning, and the bitter end. This is it, the bitter, bitter end... - Dagoth Ur
Ascians are by no means reasonable. In ancient times, they were communists. Following that at the first sign of trouble, they all decided to collectively kill themselves instead of moving to another planet. Those who didn't did things like shatter reality and plunge everything they could touch into anarchy whenever possible.
I refused so badly fighting him, I did not want to fight him at all, hoping that we will meet in the middle somehow. I relatated to him on such a deep personal level, I was crying when he was fading away. After learning everything during Shadowbringers, I just couldn't see him as a villan anymore. It has made me only so much more happier and appreciative of his appearance later on in patches and Endwalker.
I seriously wish the scene actually played out like this with full animations, not just emotes strung together. Even the beats and timing of the angels, the perspectives and the live reactions of the scions made it all feel such more... real. Freaking good ass job!

I'm in love
This is bloody amazing. Thank you.
With how good this looks imagine how theyd do the part of this speech when emet asks if half of etherys, as it is now, would sacrifice themselves to save the other half.
God damn this is incredibly cool!!!!
One of my favorite villains of all time
"you cannot be entrusted with our legacy." "i trust you with our legacy" HERE I AM CRYING AT 9 IN THE MORNING
Amazing!!
Emet perfectly summed up my feelings for the new XIV fanbase and its drastic departure from why I played the game for 11 years from 2010-2021.
SE needs to hire you, stat
I think XIV is moving closer to this. 7.0 is the graphics update, and they're starting to upgrade the server tech, starting with NA in a few days.
You know what? He's right.
Excellent work!
Goodness this is amazing!
This is great!
This just proves that Square really can and should up their cinematics game.
God, what would I do if we just had some voice lines for OUR character saying our brief moments worth. The confines that are the limitations of data.
Powerful stuff.
Looking back, it seems like his argument here really implies that after the sundering, he REALLY attempted, despite his tempering to Zodiark, to see things Venat's way, to try to understand to what end result she split their world into pieces for, and in every measurement of competence, unto today, he has been unable to accept your claim to the world, and he genuinely views it as an unjust claim compared to the friends and brothers he lost, and as such will fight to stick to the original plan and wind it back as much as he can
AMAZING
The world belongs to us and us Alone
