Definitely looks useful.. I (mostly) only work on my "hobby" stuff during the winter months so my paints sit for 3-6 months between uses.. And I have $100's of dollars worth of airbrush paint, Testors model paints, craft paints, Ceracote etc.. This seems like an easy way to grab a bottle/ jar and get mixed while prepping everything else.. PS, I put a BB in each bottle of paint..
I paint wargaming minis and have joint issues in my wrists. I bought a Four E's vortex mixer (about 80 GBP) for general mixing while painting and this one to use on paints that have sat for a while and settled. Having this one means I can leave it running on a settled paint without the pain. To solve the problem of keeping it still; I removed the utterly useless suckers from the bottom (it doesn't help that they fit so loosely into the mixer itself) and used some 3M velcro tape to hold it down on my A2 size Redgrass Games cutting mat (The velcro patch was basically sized to fit just inside the four holes left by the suckers). This way it's nice and secure when I'm using it but I can also take it off and put it in the drawer when not.
Nice review. You mixed by hand for 30 seconds. I’m certain I don’t shake my bottles 30 seconds so the power mixer would very likely do much better. I use quite a few pearls and metallics so it will definitely be useful. I’m going to order one of these tomorrow. Thx for sharing your knowledge
If you already have a sawzall, rubber band the paint to it and go to town. With a larger blade you can do larger ones like spray paint cans which is super useful.
What size tip are you spraying the metallics out of ? Im having trouble getting a even coat with the createx metallics. It suggests a .5, but my brush is a .3, I really didnt want to spend the money on a whole new brush just to spray a metallic. Any advise would be much appreciated.
Just get a vigiart brush if you're looking for something cheap and of relatively high quality. They're like 30 dollars Canadian. About the cost of a needle for my professional airbrush. Probably best bang for your buck on the market all things considered.
I have severe Osteoarthritis and shaking bottles either Paint or Vape Juice really hurts my wrists, elbows and shoulders which have already been replaced. A paint agitator would be SOOOOOOO handy. To help mix my paints I add STAINLESS STEEL NUTS.
Don't get this one, get a vortex mixer, the $90 one. This is actual trash. I ordered it last week and already returned it. If the paint you're using has settled, this thing is completely useless, will not mix up the paint
that shade of green is the same shade that hospitals painted all the walls with back in the 70s. And it's very close to the lime greens that army females wore in the 80s
@@BakerBuilds Yeh I'm sure you could probably get a year out it but when it does eventually break down, I would suggest a Vortex Paint Mixer. You can pick these up second hand at a reason price and they work much better at mixing your paints. Here a link to what I'm suggesting - th-cam.com/video/WdH8t2dBL4o/w-d-xo.html
I'm just lazy, don't wanna shake my paints, reason enough to have one. I usually put 2 steel bearings in all my paints no matter which kind of paint. (the steel balls are super easy to clean to be used again). I have one of those tit shaped shakers, and 20 secs on that all my paints are ready for use. And it's a gadget right, gadgets are fun :)
To be honest i haven’t had a ton of work time in the shop lately so it hasn’t been getting used much. However i did get a chance the other night to paint and it’s still going strong haha
This thing is absolute trash. Another YT'er recommended this as opposed to the $90+ vortex mixers. This one does absolutely nothing. I use Acrylic paints, and am currently using Tamiya paints. left a bottle on this for over a minute and nothing. None of the metallic mixed in. Don't waist your money and spend a little more on the vortex mixer, the pricier one, the cheaper one is just as bad as this one is. Seriously don't waste your money on this PoS

I really like that shaker! And yes I seen a difference for sure
I have been looking to get a shaker, but until recently I was seen ones for $100 and up. This is a viable option if it lasts. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for sharing! I wondered how well that product would work and would it hold a Createx bottle. I just ordered one.
Right on!
I think im going to buy this.
I like mine so far! Pretty handy to let it shake while I’m getting ready for the next color

Facts 🤣👍
I use a Vortex mixer. It seems to help.
Looks pretty good. I just tape them to a sawmill blade, shakes them real good.
Haha I bet!
oops. I meant sawmill.@@BakerBuilds
sawzall. dam spell check
Just found this review. Wondering how it's holding up after a couple of months use. Nice review by the way.
Yep! Still shaking haha
Do you think it helps to put small stainless ball it bottles for better mixing
I think it does! Something to move around inside.
A good way to source shakers like this for cheap is through tattoo supply stores. You can get a shaker for about 20-25 leafbucks
perhaps velcro could hold it in place?
Got a link for that empty bottle you mixed the paint in?
I’ll put the link below, however I might look at some different ones. These don’t close very well. a.co/d/jbGUCXo

Have you tried thinning the createx metallic paints with 4011 reducer?

It might be good for thinning acrylic paint for spraying.
For sure! More confident in the paint actually being mixed with this 👍
I just do the pvc and drill thing.. cost a few cents and a few minutes. Chang out the pvc size and i shake rattle cans too.

Its been 6 months. Is it still a good product?
I wish they had this for a spray paint can
They do it costs about 38usd in amazon

Use a piece of PVC pipe and hook it to your drill and spin it. Works wonders.
throw some ball bearings in the bottle also 👍
You mixed with your hands for 30 seconds and then put it into the machine to mix, what’s the point? if everything is already mixed by hand
It’s only been a couple weeks. But are you still happy with your little paint shaker?
So far yes! I have been using it every time I paint.
Still working out for you?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the stick 🤣🤣🤣
Better to be safe then sorry 😂😂
@@BakerBuilds yeah, you got that right
These shakers have a known habit of the electric motor burning out.
If I can get a few months out of it then I’ll be happy haha

I’m gonna be that guy….. how is it 6 months later….???
