Hello, aspiring pirate here and pretty new to the game. So you basically built a small scooter, cheap I'm assuming, to sneak up on bigger ships and steal bigger ships, right? How do you profit from the bigger ships afterwards? Like, where do you take them to make money?
The game is unfortunately still lacking in ways to efficiently profit from salvage. You can dismantle an entire ship piece by piece, and then either re-use (unbolting and using on fresh ship prints) or recycle (using the hand recycler tool to turn them back into ore) its parts, but that remains a very labor intensive process. Since I'm not hurting for money, I thus limit myself to dismantling parts with higher ore volume per piece, so essentially only large generators/plasma thrusters/mining lasers, or ship weapons, and stash the rest of the ships for when/if SB eventually adds alternatives. Mining remains by far the most profitable activity for wealth, so PVP is better done for its own sake. That being said, if you're just starting out or discovering the game, things like T3 thrusters and ore crates can still be a decent source of income to fund inexpensive small ships. And while I do very often use a tiny unarmed stealth scooter, its primary use is to be a cheap disposable way to move around fast. It just so happens that I'm often on it when scouting and happen to find others.
@@ScipionSB Thank you so much for the in-depth explanation! It makes so much sense, and I do hope they do implement a way to salvage scrap. Makes sense!
It's funny to see so many focus on that when the ores were worth 5 mil and the plasma rings add up to 20 mil. In the heat of the moment, you can't predict if he's coming back with a heavy fighter to deny you the ship, and you never know how competent people actually are (his cap being a few KM away, he could've towed the wreck back before I'd have found him again). Still, in retrospect that Vokarium would've been nice :) could've edited that moment out of the video but felt like it added some more flavor and context.
you deleting the ore is one of the very many reasons they need to rework the combat in this game. the owner of the ship should be the only person who can delete ore.
I was on his capital ship at the time he asked me to help and i got on the ship to help him but we couldent find you
Very nice video, thanks !
Nice event Scipion :)

Shouldn't have deleted the ores, I guess ;)

Yeah, I'm not complaining, you did the right thing keeping it in.
@@ScipionSB It would be cool if the ores could be ejected into space, and not deleted.

deleting ore is usful for getting rid of outer asteroid material but there should be restrictions to prevent straight up griefing
Нормально
deleting the ores is a scumbag move
shameful
otherwise a interesting vid
No its not, he's just giving a better chance of escape if alkash comes back to take his ship back. Ship costs more than the ores anyways.
The plasma thruster alone is probably worth 5-6x the cargo
man go back to your safe zone
