What’s the difference between both? I’m on RMC so I think I can only choose the cat as the Wolf is only RMR but just curious. I’m between one of these or a holosun 407k gr. Trynna decide
I have the wolf2-G for astigmatism and it's the only thing that isn't blurry. But it has a dot inside a big circle so if you don't like that it isn't for you.
I got the cat for my Hellcat RDP just to see what I wanted in a red dot and ended up loving it. Easily a put couple of thousand rounds on it. Got the wolf for my Echelon and have had over a thousand rounds on that and it is still going strong. Have yet to have a reason to upgrade or replace them.

Great review man!!! This is one of the best reviews I have seen on this optic. This is my first optic ever.I grew up shooting iron sights with my dad growing up.I would say I stopped shooting around 22-23,and now got back into it at 40 lol.I just wanted to see what all the hype was about with these red and green dots everyone is putting on there pistols, and drooling over.I think it is pretty cool.I am not completely sold to put them on all my handguns, but I do like them.I been having issues (user error) trying to get my Green dot zeroed.I think I am close, but what a challenge for a noob with them.I really to be honest probably would have just kept my gun the way it was,if I knew how much money, and a pain it would be,but in the long run I think I will like it.I just got to get use to it.
Thank you for the feedback I’m happy to hear it! Absolutely not for everyone in every situation so you’ll have to apply it case by case. Remember I have a sample size of 1.
13:25 Totally Agree! I can't tell you how many times I've bumped my optic on a grocery cart while shopping! So annoying when I take my gun out and placed it in the front baby seat and the optic gets bumped! Glad to know this optic won't lose zero as I'm being arrested for brandishing, but so far, nobody's ever said anything to me! Wonder why? 😂
did you try to lower the brightness at 100m? that would make the dot half of its size, I have the same red dot and no issues whatsoever if the illumination is down.
I will say trijicons and holosun are going to be better but this thing isn’t the worst. At least it’s not an airsoft red dot pretending to be a real steel red dot.
About the water claims I’ve seen other people test them by throwing it in a hot tub for a half hour and then freezing it and breaking it out after and still worked not sure if it held zero but still worked.
@@ohsnapz1897 Sorry didn't see this until now. If you still haven't purchased make sure you're looking at the WOLF 2 it only works for that specific optic.

The great part about safariland QLS is I can easily swap the holsters in a couple seconds. I like the mid ride also because my long gangly arms aren’t as cramped when drawing
Curious what your optic setup was on your Bullpup rifle? It looked like a very short LPVO or another longer Rifle Red Dot with the Cyelee as the canted Red Dot on the side.
Maybe I am confused about pistol red dots, but who would shoot a pistol at a target at 100 yards? These are made for close quarters and quick target acquisition, hence the 3 MOA reticle that is supposed to be seen at arm length distance.
For practical reasons? Not much I can think of outside of handgun hunting. But it's fun and a good way to push your abilities if you have access to the range. Shooting at 100yds will tell you really quick if you have poor trigger control or are anticipating recoil. You can get away with those when shooting at 10-15yds and still make good hits, not so much at 50+ yds.
@1312020m I understand, but a red dot on a pistol is for quick target acquisition at short distances. It is 3 MOA because the pistol is way out in front of the user as opposed to it being 2 MOA like the ones intended for rifles. Even if it were fun for shooting at 100 yards, I cant see the point of doing so since, like was already mentioned, the 3 MOA is too big to see the target at that long distance.
@@Nuthing_but_the_Truth the larger the dot the faster you tend to be able to aquire it. That's why a lot of people like running the 5MOA SRO for competition use because it's faster to pick up than the 1 or 2.5MOA versions. 3MOA really isn't coving too many targets at 100yds, its about a 3" diameter circle. Headshots at 100yds with a 3MOA dot are still easily doable. 1 gallon water jugs with food coloring are my favorite target, and the dot sits fully inside that at 100yds. You can even still see pop cans using the dot at 100yds if you don't have it turned to the max brightness and all bloomed out.
@@Nuthing_but_the_Truth on my carry guns I have Holosuns with a 2MOA dot, I normally run that at like 9 brightness and it looks more like a 5-6MOA dot unless you're in direct sunlight or using a WML. If I wanna shoot them at distance I turn it down to like 7 to make the dot shrink back to it's proper 2MOA size.
@1312020m I'm not doubting you, I was just explaining why typical pistol red dots are 3 MOA. They still aren't meant for long range, because handguns aren't either.
So it will depend on how you’re mounting the red dot. If it’s going to be directly mounted to the slide the “low” height sight will work fine. If you need to use some kind of plate that might elevate the red dot more then it might require the high sights. It also depends on how you want them co-witnessed do you want them lower 1/3 then low sights would be the go to. Do you want them dead center if the class then maybe the high sights would be best.
@purposefularmament thank you, I'm new to red dots on pistols because I have an astigmatism and this will be my first go, I have a bare bones dagger slide rmr cut for my 19

@purposefularmament ahhh.. yes. Very nice. Local Pd doesn't practice at 40 yards with pistols.. unlikely scenario they say. But for ccw compact and sub compact pistols this dot may do the job. I need 3 dots for short distance.. 25 yards and below.
