They were brave but they were on evil side. That is why soldiers are usually not prosecuted, but their commanders are.

Putin is using the same tactics his old bosses taught him. The Russians denied they were fighting in Afghanistan, but it became clear, now they are using better and modernized tactics but the old saying applies for Mr. Putin.
"Ujku qimen e ndërron, por zakonin s'e harron." which means in English "The wolf may grow new fur, but he never forgets his habits."
Just like Putin, he may have changed his suit and the way Russian people see him, but deep down he is still a KGB operative.

This is for all the Russian patriots and die hard Putin supporters in this comment section. How did these soldiers die? In a training accident? I didn't know the Russian army or any for that matter used live anti-personnel mines during training mission. Seems a little overkill doesn't it? Also why is there place of death listed as a temporary deployment? Aren't all army units posted somewhere? Also if they died in a training accident in Russia then why did they need official documents allowing the body to be transported back to Russia? Was there place of deployment outside of Russia? Last I checked Russia hasn't officially declared war against any other country. Could this mysterious place of temporary assignment be eastern Ukraine? These are all legitimate questions. Wake up before its too late. This isn't Russia's war. Like Afghanistan wasn't Russia's war, like Iraq wasn't America's war. Before you thousands of more young men die for nothing except Putin's b.s. geopolitical aspirations. And before you make some asinine comment in response remember these same soldiers returning in body bags could one day be your friends or family members.

As a person from the portion of Donetsk region occupied by the RUSSIAN ARMY (not leaving it for a single day) I'll figure this insanity out:
    1. People actially voted for joining the Russian Federation (referendum for it was promised by Russian-controlled separatists on 18.05.2014)! People in Donetsk WERE SURE THAT RUSSIA WOULD ANNEX OUR REGIONS LIKE THEY DID IN CRIMEA. PEOPLE WANTED NEW PENSIONS AND PAYMENTS AS HIGH AS IN RUSSIA AND CRIMEA (in reality, standard of living in RF doesn't differ much from Ukrainian.)
    2. Being manipulated by Russian propaganda people cried out a year ago while voting on referendum "STOP FEEDING UKRAINE!! LET'S BLOCK SUPPLIES FROM OUR REGIONS FOR KYIV AND LEAVE ALL INCOMES HERE "
    3. The number of locals fighting against Ukraine in Donetsk DOES'T EXCEED 20%. The majority of separatists are Russian mercenary (soldiers of fortune) and soldiers of Russian regular Army (they actually gain all battles)
    4. THERE IS NO (or too very little) HUMANITARIAN AID FROM RF!!! Humanitarian supplies started in mid December 2014 by Ukrainian oligarch Ahmetov, who supported separatists formely.

On a previous episode you showed they (russian separates) did not have weapons. It showed russia did not send weapons until after the election was complete and donbass became an independent republic. The "ghosts" from moscow claim you made is hearsay from your reporting.

Unlike other countries that I’ve been to, when you go to Russia (even as a tourist) the government will know where you are. Your visa will have the identity code of the hotel or B&B you’re staying and they register you in their “government log” when you arrive and you leave. Your hotel/B&B will probably be accountable for you if you go where you’re not supposed to. The houses in Moscow are like old bunkers from the Soviet era. It’s a very intimidating place and you dare not do anything stupid like what other tourists do in a foreign country.

There are two sides to each war. Ultimately it came down to eastern Ukrainians who had close ties and maybe even family in Russia being disenfranchised by the Euromaidan protests and subsequent coup which sparked a civil war after 2014. Those "pro-russian seperatist" ukrainians would have called for their friends and family in russia to come help them fight. That's not even remotely surprising.
It's really interesting knowing this and watching how the information is spun. Maybe the Kremlin was never involved in civil war in Ukraine and it was actually the US and NATO who pushed for and supported the Euromaidan uprising that subsequently destabilized the country and create a proxy war on Russia's border to weaken them. In order for the US to enact it's plan for global domination, they need to get rid of Russia's nuclear capability.

      - in the 1919, 67% of Subcarpathian Rus (Ukrainia) wanted to be part of Czechoslovakia and it was.
      - 2. november 1938: First Vienna Arbitration - Germany and Italy forced Czechoslovakia to give up a large part southern Slovakia (approx. ¼ territory) and SW part Subcarpathian Russia in favor of Hungary !
      - The end of World War II in Europe (May 8, 1945) brings the restoration of the Czechoslovak Republic
and the restoration of state borders as they took place on 1 January 1938 (pre-Munich borders),with exceptions: Czechoslovakia loses Subcarpathian Russia by the Treaty between the Czechoslovak Republic and the USSR on Transcarpathian Russia
      Ukraine of June 29, 1945 (Moscow). Along with it, another 13 municipalities in the southeast of Slovakia;
SO YES RUSSIAN STOLE US also LAND ! UKRAINE FIGHT we are with you!

"We have tens of thousands of black packages with people who are not taken away by Russia. These are their soldiers. Just their military."
Zelensky does not understand why Russia is not taking away the dead soldiers. He said that the bodies of the occupiers were forced to be stored in specially equipped refrigerated cars. Each corpse is placed in a separate bag.
As of May 23, 29,200 Russians had died in the war against Ukraine. And we understand why they are still on our earth. They are simply unnecessary for the occupiers' power. Like everyone who lives in Russia.

The United States does the same thing there was a soldier that hung himself in the hotel a couple days before we left for Afghanistan... Turns out the army told the family he died in a training accident.... The family found out a couple days later when people from our unit reached out to the family... Heartbreaking all around even within the unit. We all feared if something happened to us the truth may have not been known.... What a crazy world we live in.

Yeah, they were shady when my neighbor/family friend died on an Army base. They said he ran off to Mexico when he disappeared. Then his body was found naked and clogging the sewage system. So they told the family he stripped himself naked, hid his clothes where no one ever found them, walked to the sewage system... And drowned himself. In sewage. On an army base. That's how he killed himself. Then when several witnesses said he was lead from barracks to a black SUV the day he disappeared...they declared it a dead end a few weeks later and said nothing could be done.
Very shady if you ask me.
