    Thank you for a great tutorial. I was thinking of getting a simple one to explore the micro-life around our home with my 5-year old daughters. i will watch this video with them as an intro.

    I just got a Swift 3200 from the flee market! I'm excited about seeing our symbiotic micro world with my own eyes now! I'm 52 years old now but back in the 8th grade I was first introduced to the micro world and desired to see and learn more. I purchased Moody Science Institute DVD's years ago which really fueled my desire to learn more. That desire went unfulfilled till now! Better late than never right. Anyway,where would you recommend I purchase slides, slip covers, bulbs, cleaning supplies and a protectant cover for this Swift 3200 microscope? Thank you for your time responding.

    So if i want a microscope that can be used at home without having to sell my house. which one would you recommend ? :)
    i must admit that my profile picture doesnt reflect my questions today hehe..
    do that material you are looking at have to be so thin that they are almost transparent when ure using that microscope with a light source underneath ? i imagine that the light gotta be able to light through the material ?
    aint there a microscope thats more simple to use and doesnt require such a efford to make things paper thin ??
    one that also would be able to use to look a metal surfaces and such ?

I knew how to use a microscope in 5th grade and used them in middle school, but I went to a high school in the city with....lets just say low standards lol. So we just didn't get much time using them. I may speak for myself, but i am not learning how to use a microscope for the first time (as a college student), but am just in need of some refreshing haha

No matter what I do it stayed exactly the same, I took it apart and wiped off about everything with paper towels and now it's worse, it was just a few spots and now all I can see is spots. I just bought a microscope that has a tungsten bulb. It is too late to cancel and now I am reading the bulb can get too hot and kill cell life that i am going to be trying to look at. I could not afford the led version. Do you think this is going to be a real problem for me?

    • @julesverne4629
      @julesverne4629 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, just use a Wratten "80A" Blue Filter in front of your Tungsten Bulb light. The 80A Photographic Camera Blue Filter is placed in front of your Tungsten Bulb to give you an "LED or Neon light White light Illumination for your MicroScope"!!Don't forget to always start with your Low Objective 4x Objective and 10WF Eyepiece Ocular for 40x Magnification. Then gently move your rotary Objective Nose to your 10x Objective Lens without touching the Slide by slightly using your "Course Focusing to Focus your speciman at 100x Magnification then use your "Fine Focusing" for Fine Adjusting your Focusing your Slide Speciman. When moving to your High Power 40x Objective Lens, always slightly use a "Wooden Toothpick as your 40x Objective Distance Stopper from the Slide Speciman then use only your "Fine Focusing with your 40x Objective Rectractible Lens High Power with your WF 10x Eyepiece which gives you a total of 400x Magnification and adjust only your "Fine Focusing" for your Slide Specimans. 100x Oil Immersion Lens usage will be dealt with at a later time, or future notice of knowledge!!!!

    • @julesverne4629
      @julesverne4629 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also adjust your Abbe Condenser and Iris Diaphram according to your BEST Contrast for your Specific Eye or Eyes. Good Luck with your MicroScope!!

  • @VibrantVitaHealth
    @VibrantVitaHealth 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you look at stuff as small as bacteria with this microscope?

    • @peterjf7723
      @peterjf7723 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would be able to see bacteria, but not in any detail. By shape you can distinguish cocci and bacilli, cocci are spherical cells, bacilli are rod-shaped. There are also the corkscrew shaped Spirochaetes. You can use Gram staining technique to distinguish Gram positive and negative.

    • @StevenRockwood
      @StevenRockwood 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How do you think one attains a precise focus??? Have you enticed your teacher to explain this forsight?, or is he/she too headstrong for the class, or at least one pupil to come right out and ask the simplest of questions. Which in this case seems just ridiculous as I have yet to hear of something in all my years of utilizing these expensive machines, too not use the smaller, much more precise / most important aspect of achieving your final result in obtsining the clearest pissible clearness of whate ver you happen to be studying on that particular day. Somehow, somewhere, somrone has given you and your friends / aquainted pupils some very poor advise, and if it was your teacher then maybe just ask him/her after class too clear up whatever was said about the eyesight issue ... Maybe it was an miss interpretation on your part, or just some bad oversight / mistake, or advice thst this teachers sais and it all is in their hands to correct whatever was said before the class, albeit nothing will be made a point of if you or another pupil doesn't speak up ... teachers have a lot going on in all facets of theur pIdiyions throughout their day. Some teachers are teaching 2 or 3 subjects per day, and it may just be so that 1 or possibly 2 of the subjects where their at the helm are not even within their scope of expertise, esp. when your getting into the 9th-12th grades where teachers are usually employed to teach subjects for which they have compmeted extra classes in college to obtain a teaching degree in the classes that they had taken extra courses to learn more about the area(s) where they feel they want to actually be teaching in, thus the diploma issued will spell out all the accolades and teaching areas where this in particular life long kearbDr wishes to spread their knowkedge base while at the same time as aquiring more fHurst hand accounts of being on the same end as yourself, learning the information they are actually teaching to yourself. Even if it looks so easy and they know all, this is what teacherrs are also trained in ... the pressures of the situations they may find themselves facing when an area comes up that they must teach but have next to nill experience with. Although they look like they do. Mistakes are bound to be said and not even realized ... and if no one questions them then the learning process tends to be stagnated and may become seriously flawed. Times like this occur across all systems, whether they tend to be the best academically when it comes to test or schools who are performing at levels that are not so good and shed a bad light onto all who teach and/or attend.
