@@patrickbarrio101 Yeah I understand that. I agree Bungo really did a good job in writing the story this time, triggered much more emotion compared to shadowkeep or even last season. Just as I hoped to escape from the real world problems I experience each day and see in the news, Bungo tricked me into enjoying the game so much that I actually cared to look into the lore and get smashed in the face with the same problems. If bungo would only give me the satisfaction of pushing Laksmi off the wall into a pile of Taken, I would have had some kind of resolution. But with me having no influence in mid of all this tragities, It just hurts more.

This is a bit of a crackpot theory, but I believe Ramen Eliksni actually got away, as they seemed to have been looking for someone in that room, and Eliksni are NOTORIOUS for getting through small and dark places despite having a double skeleton. I think he escaped and is trying to find his way back home.
@@hammer9856 my theory is they took some of their arms off and they escaped before the citizens could finish them off. They're packing up because the vanguard stated that violence on house light refugees was considered a crime, so they were trying to clean the zone and go into hiding to avoid repercussions, hence the signal jammer, the big bags and the hurried manner of the mother.

Although her using stasis to save an Eliksni has likely furthered peoples' suspicions of a conspiracy. Using darkness to save something the people view as 'evil', even if she was in the right.
She has also used Stasis to stop her friend Shayruya from perma killing a guardian in trials. If your wondering why Shayruya would do that, well...........she doesn't like Darkness, she fully into light, and that is shown due to her use of Dawncaller, or what she calls it, Praxis fire. Got a feeling this won't be the last we hear of Aisha, Shayruya or their third fireteam member, Reed-7.....
@@Crownbreak it's in the pyrrhic armour lore. I recommend starting at the beginning of the lore, as you get a better understanding of the entire story. You also get the different perspectives of each character on each pyrric class armour. Warlock armour for Shayruya, hunter for Aisha and Titian for Reed-7.
Imagine what Amanda Holliday would do if she found out that what she told that Ramenliksni ultimately led to his death. She’s starting to like them already and yet she already, unknowingly and accidentally , assisted in killing him.

The way I see it, everything we do in the system is for our people, for our city. From killing have gods to fallen uprisings. We hold the line to protect them. Now the eliksni are in our city, they are our people and deserve to be treated as such.

That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s dead, clearly states “he wriggled his way deeper into the gap, but I’m guessing he didn’t get far, I’ll find him”..... Could still be alive and/or managed to escape whatever torture they did/had planned.

I think you partially misunderstood the lore card, Byf. You're right that the people attacked the Ramen eating Eliksni and injured him gravely, but I think you're wrong about thinking he's dead as the Exo was trying to fit through a crack in the wall in an attempt to chase him down after he escaped. At least that's my interpretation.
@@deathspirit9729 no his brother has little to do with this situation as his was resolved elsewhere at a different time. This is likley what was happening to the brother while the one looking for him was dealing with his stuff. They left it just vauge enough so people like yourself might think that but he will turn up alive but likley docked a few arms.

@@Sl0thb0yy Vriiksis had nothing to do with the crack, he was the one attacked on the streets. His brother was in the ramen shop and therefore was the one who must've escaped down the crack. I've heard people say that they probably tortured or mutilated him, but if he was really dead, the exo wouldn't be looking for him at the same time.

@@hyunjaycho9004 nah dudes mistaken and you're right they make it pretty clear that he's escaped and they are rushing now to clean up the evidence that may tie them to it. Obviously they are looking for him and WILL finish the job if found but for now they are also going to try to hide any connection that could be made either way. He's eliksni they can and do have their limbs cut off regularly and can even grow them back. They likely did something like this and he escaped so they went after him and cleaned up the mess so people couldn't point fingers. Bungie made it pretty clear with the exo saying "he couldn't have gotten far" line but I guess wants people to be stuck wondering. It's destiny though not some Kojima game.... He's going to turn up OK and will be important in fixing all this in the end... Like him working things out with humans and forgiveness and such.

It’d be interesting if House of Light leaves the Last City at the end of the season(maybe for the Cosmodrome) not just because of xenophobia/fear from humans but, also because Guardians won’t stop using Stasis. Also, it’d be nice if Bungie had a human perspective in this story from Hawthorne and Kay, feels like a missed opportunity for more world building.
Definitely hawthrone should have something to say. Afterall during the red war when we encounter the Fallen for the first time and Ghost says "after the red war well go here and finish plucking this pests out of the EDZ" She answers with "Ooor- we let the Fallen keep their creepy holes and dont spill more unecessary Blood" She was the first Ever to want give the Fallen a break in D2
Some positive information comes from this. We now know some of the house of light shun stasis due to Eramis’s abuse of it, and we know from Eido’s logs that the house of light also frowns on the crucible and gambit. I am proud to know them 😄
They don't need to understand it. The crucible in lore was a necessity to hone guardians new and old to be able to survive out in the world. The killing like ghaul said, helped us forget the fear of death and the sporting gave the people of the city a well needed distraction.
I think there is something else going on. There was a lore tab that talked about a father having hallucinations, then one of the kids called out to the father, bring him back to reality. I forgot which weapon it was on, but maybe that is also amplifying the xenophobia that some of the people are experiencing.

RE "Sarcasm might not even exist for thr Eliksni", there's some new Override dialogue that implies otherwise. Saint-14 tries to compliment the Splicer tech, and Mithrax says something along the lines of "The Saint has finally found a use for Eliksni? These truly are dark days." This reads to me as a pretty sarcastic, deadpan joke.
I feel like this could be one of the motivators for lightfall, the people in the last city are becoming more and more xenophobic and as our guardians begin to become more understanding of the eliskakni they may start to see humanity as unworthy of protection and either bail on the last city or help tear it down and start all over again
I can see this being a split decision. Choose to side with the last city, or leave to join ranks with the eliksni. That would have HUGE ramifications, and I would be all for it. Screw the tower. I'd chill with the eliksni anyday. Would love to share some of my sun breaker light to one of their captains
This is a reach and a really vad ine at that, Alone we have NO CHANCE against the Darkness, the entire point of this as to show that we NEED to Forfeit our past problems and difference in the name of Survival.
I wish i could let my guardians do patrols or let them speak some words with lakshmi telling her to gtfo and never ever even Think about looking at the eliksni. And if she does somethin to them i would drop her dead here and now
as that last lore tab was being told my heart actually dropped, I just wish there were more moments like this in the main story instead of being almost hidden away on guns or armors pieces where you might read the end to one story before you even know theres a beginning

10:35 it doesn’t matter. Even if temporary meant to curse the man out, someone murdered him over something he said. I understand that being cursed out isn’t pleasant but that doesn’t justify murder. The fact that he didn’t even mean it as an insult only adds more salt to the wound
I appreciate you referring to our guests as the "People of the House of Light." Moving on from the Fallen moniker is one thing, but recognizing the Eliksni people AS people is going to be the big hurdle in building peace, I think.
It's still weird to be killing them all the time elsewhere in the game.... Though like for real atleast with the cabal it somewhat made sense (at least last season)

@@Insanefishinguy I don't get this argument because then our governments in real life don't really work either. The City is pretty obviously based on a form of democracy. So if you're saying the people in the Last City have no power neither does anyone else in our real governments either. They still hold a power. They're literally what the guardians stand for and whilst the Guardians could just kill them all if they rebelled. No one in the vanguard or anyone in the City would actually do that. Of course they don't have the physical ability to overthrow the Vanguard or the Guardians. But they are the core spirit of the City, and hold power because of what they represent to the Guardians.

I wanna give you extra props for including the SFX in that first reading, Byf! I *love* how much extra weight it adds to the scenario. I'd love to see you include more editing in your lore readings like that in the future, such an excellent touch.

@@samushunter242 A Eliksni from the ramen shop lore tab was murdered due to Amanda accidentally saying a lot of curse words forgetting that the Fallen speak broken English wouldn't understand that the words she said where curse words which spread about the house of light and when Ramen Eliksni said those same exact words not understanding they where curse words, he was murdered by a small group of people, which lead to the confrontation of the Ramen Eliksnis brother. Its rather sad.
@@Glucoseus well the thing is that the Fallen came and attack us First, no warning, no deals or tried for peace, they came to our solar system to KILL US much like the Hive and the earlier Legions of the Cabal. We rightfully fought back in self defense, theres always going to be those of Humanity that will be Tyrants, thats just yhe fact that we live in a fallen world, a fallen people. So the Fallen shouldn't be surprised by the hostility it faced when they started attacking us first, they did a lot of war crimes against us willingly or not much like how humans can do the same thing. We are fallible due to what happened in the Garden of Eden. The Fallen of the House of Light so far gave been good, but even in the lore there are still those who still think we deserve extinction even for the very same was crimes they did to us first. War is complicated, all sides have there darkenness, its just that it will take time to build trust with the minority of yhose who do not wish to see us dead anyway.
@@LcplAnimeGuy yeah i feel like though the fallen were distraught over the traveler leaving them which led to the the collapse of their society and because of how hurt they were they wanted the traveler to feel their pain so then they started killing humans to hurt the traveler which led to the war we have been fighting all this time but i feel like house light recognizes that and doesnt want it to happen they just wanna live in peace near the traveler and not have their babies grow up starving i think they just want to fix everything that has happened since the traveler left them and now the ball is in the last cities court and i feel like both sides shouldnt just forget what happened but they should remember and move on knowing that it can be better if both parties band together i mean imagine how much better our armories could be with fallen tech i mean we already basically have cabal allies so if we have the cabal and fallen on our side then thats even better tech wise and the last city can expand if we work together we could be unstoppable and reclaim earth from the scattered red legion and the scattered houses of fallen but the main problem with everything i said about working together for the betterment of everyone involved is dumbass lakshmi honestly if we could exile her the last city would be so much better for it
I'm really curious if House Light is still going to be in the city at the end of the season given how eager people (in game) seem to be to throw them out or worse.
I'm sure their little quarter will remain as a permanent fixture. The end of the season should be a form of reconciliation that cements House Light as recognized allies of the City, whether Lahksmi likes it or not.
I find this season to be very relevant to today’s problems as this parallels certain unfortunate events and misinformation that gets spread. Laksmhi is a very interesting antagonist here because of her status as a politician and how she is very skilled in getting other people to do her dirty work.
Reed, Aisha and Shayura! Please make a video about the lore tabs from the new Trials armor introduced in the season of the chosen. What happens to this fireteam is both fascinating and tragic.
I kinda enjoy that we have lakshmi-2 as an antagonist as it touches on an enemy we can't just shoot down we've had a few of those but I think she will be one of the more nuanced ones

I feel like this is how Laskemi-2's future starts. Some of the members of House of Light have to veterans from the old houses and might try to cause a riot. I predict that a new house could take form.
I think the immersion and enjoyability of destiny would sky rocket if some of these lore entries were actual interactions or side quests that could happen in game. Rather than just being read.
The sound effects added to the dialogue is an inspired touch. I'd greatly like to see this used going forward as well, if the card and editing time permits!
I hold hope for our Eliksni friend. The Exo might have headed after our friend but his people are known for high mobility. I think he will find his way to safety in unexpected arms

I seem to recall stories of Eliksni devouring children in some of the lore cards. The majority of humanity is in survival mode. It seems reckless/unreasonable to allow Eliksni to wander without being escorted.
My fav part of this is the guardian named "Nino's Voluptuous Thighs" With the Unstoppable symbol by their name that's running around at about 10:00 -ish All jokes aside, interesting lore to think about. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for this Byf. It was enjoyable because I love listening to you talking about the lore. I'm glad you took this series of stories a lot better than some of the other people talking about it, saying "Humanity is awful for doing this". Yeah they're awful and their excuse for doing it is as you said, hundreds if not thousands of years of Eliksni raiding killing humans just to get to the great machine. I like the Eliksni of the City, but I'm also a Guardian, I see what humanity can't. The humans can't even leave the city without putting themselves at risk and now they can't even live in the city without risk because of the Vex attack. To make matters worse Ikora did something that should have been by consensus. If she wants to make the Vanguard the Dictators she could do it easily. Not many will stop her. But then Humanity dies because of the spark that makes us human: Choice and Free Will. It is the double edged sword of our existence. Our problem is that we've been trying to protect the last city for so long that we sheltered humanity from having the free will and choice to go out and see that Fallen have changed over the centuries. Yes there is a lot of murderous ones, but because they don't get to see any of the good, there is nothing else. And yeah, Amanda Holiday is at fault, I hope it gets addressed. I'm holding out that this Eliksni buddy survived but I'm not hopeful for the city. I want to protect the city; humans and eliksni both. But the Vanguard is at fault for essentially caging humanity within the walls of the city.

But the Exo hunter is clearly chasing after him when he said "he couldn't have gotten far" while trying to climb inside that wall. They obviously planned to and they likley cut off a few of his limbs (something they do to themselves sometimes as punishment). They call it docking and it's not a good thing but doesn't mean death in fact they can even grow their limbs back in some cases.
Two days ago, I was hearing you tell the story about the Crow's cargo and right after hearing what Amanda said, I was like... "OH.. thats not a good way to 'explain' something to someone that don't actually knows your language, that could be used again incorrectly"... Sadly... today, I learned that thats exactly what happened.... I guess for the first time in Destiny's lore, I'm feeling bad for a supporting character. I suppose that its intesified by the fact that we are kinda seeing a scenario similar to the current content between Eliksni and Human race in our daily life as well, and probably that was Bungie's intent here.... nicely done...very sad.. but well done
I'd also like to point out how Bungies writing team hit home to current events. As a black man living in America with everything going on, to seeing how the Asian community was treated during the beginning of the pandemic, to what's going on just on a daily basis.... This is impactful
So many levels of depth and layers here, and I absolutely Love it. The misplace hatred for Fallen/Eliksni for what they've done to humanity in the past, and how that hatred breeds more hatred for humanity in the eyes of the Fallen/Eliksni. and that little touch of that Fallen/Eliskni hating Guardian who use Statsis really ties it all in (A lot of People forget the Fallen/Eliksni has a religious zealotry when it comes to the Travel and the Light, and anyone who uses the power of Darkness are seen incredibly negatively) It's all really sad and depressing right now, especially with Lakshmi-2 stoking the flames (I've read the spoilers and She gets what's coming to her) But man do I love stories like this where the World isn't as Black and White as people may have initially thought, and that in these sort of conflicts no one is in the "Right"
There's a whole lot more to unpack here for sure. I hope guardians will wise up and see adding more violence will not solve the problem, as these lore tabs are suggesting. But the small-minded people on this thread wanting to go out and kill humans in the city (in-game of course) also have it wrong. The only one loving this is Savathun. Remember that.
@@kaza2185 Spoilers: She "Accidentally" let's the vex into the city (Which will be the final stage of season 14) and during the panic and invasion she gets killed by a vex Off-screen. Ikora has a voice line that confirms she was killed. Some restructuring of the Factions begins, and people start to like the Fallen a bit more for helping civilians during the invasion (Mithrax and Saint-14 have a really heart warming moment)

Just as I hoped to escape from the real world problems I experience each day and see in the news, Bungo tricked me into enjoying the game so much that I actually cared to look into the lore and get smashed in the face with the same problems. If bungo would only give me the satisfaction of pushing Laksmi off the wall into a pile of Taken, I would have had some kind of resolution. But with me having no influence in mid of all this tragities, It just hurts more.

This is a bit of a crackpot theory, but I believe Ramen Eliksni actually got away, as they seemed to have been looking for someone in that room, and Eliksni are NOTORIOUS for getting through small and dark places despite having a double skeleton. I think he escaped and is trying to find his way back home.

They're packing up because the vanguard stated that violence on house light refugees was considered a crime, so they were trying to clean the zone and go into hiding to avoid repercussions, hence the signal jammer, the big bags and the hurried manner of the mother.

Can we get a shoutout to Aisha, the stasis Hunter from the first lore tab? It's nice to see a Guardian wielding stasis in the lore without being corrupted
Although her using stasis to save an Eliksni has likely furthered peoples' suspicions of a conspiracy. Using darkness to save something the people view as 'evil', even if she was in the right.
She has also used Stasis to stop her friend Shayruya from perma killing a guardian in trials. If your wondering why Shayruya would do that, well...........she doesn't like Darkness, she fully into light, and that is shown due to her use of Dawncaller, or what she calls it, Praxis fire. Got a feeling this won't be the last we hear of Aisha, Shayruya or their third fireteam member, Reed-7.....

@@Crownbreak it's in the pyrrhic armour lore. I recommend starting at the beginning of the lore, as you get a better understanding of the entire story. You also get the different perspectives of each character on each pyrric class armour. Warlock armour for Shayruya, hunter for Aisha and Titian for Reed-7.

I think you partially misunderstood the lore card, Byf. You're right that the people attacked the Ramen eating Eliksni and injured him gravely, but I think you're wrong about thinking he's dead as the Exo was trying to fit through a crack in the wall in an attempt to chase him down after he escaped. At least that's my interpretation.

Obviously they are looking for him and WILL finish the job if found but for now they are also going to try to hide any connection that could be made either way.
He's eliksni they can and do have their limbs cut off regularly and can even grow them back.
They likely did something like this and he escaped so they went after him and cleaned up the mess so people couldn't point fingers.
Bungie made it pretty clear with the exo saying "he couldn't have gotten far" line but I guess wants people to be stuck wondering.
It's destiny though not some Kojima game.... He's going to turn up OK and will be important in fixing all this in the end... Like him working things out with humans and forgiveness and such.

It’d be interesting if House of Light leaves the Last City at the end of the season(maybe for the Cosmodrome) not just because of xenophobia/fear from humans but, also because Guardians won’t stop using Stasis.
Also, it’d be nice if Bungie had a human perspective in this story from Hawthorne and Kay, feels like a missed opportunity for more world building.
Definitely hawthrone should have something to say. Afterall during the red war when we encounter the Fallen for the first time and Ghost says "after the red war well go here and finish plucking this pests out of the EDZ" She answers with "Ooor- we let the Fallen keep their creepy holes and dont spill more unecessary Blood"

Some positive information comes from this. We now know some of the house of light shun stasis due to Eramis’s abuse of it, and we know from Eido’s logs that the house of light also frowns on the crucible and gambit. I am proud to know them 😄
When you got 1 life it's bizzare seeing certain people flat out killing one another for sport like it's normal, in addition humanity cheers them on.
They don't need to understand it. The crucible in lore was a necessity to hone guardians new and old to be able to survive out in the world. The killing like ghaul said, helped us forget the fear of death and the sporting gave the people of the city a well needed distraction.

I think there is something else going on. There was a lore tab that talked about a father having hallucinations, then one of the kids called out to the father, bring him back to reality. I forgot which weapon it was on, but maybe that is also amplifying the xenophobia that some of the people are experiencing.

RE "Sarcasm might not even exist for thr Eliksni", there's some new Override dialogue that implies otherwise.
Saint-14 tries to compliment the Splicer tech, and Mithrax says something along the lines of "The Saint has finally found a use for Eliksni? These truly are dark days."
This reads to me as a pretty sarcastic, deadpan joke.

I feel like this could be one of the motivators for lightfall, the people in the last city are becoming more and more xenophobic and as our guardians begin to become more understanding of the eliskakni they may start to see humanity as unworthy of protection and either bail on the last city or help tear it down and start all over again
People from the city have always been xenofobic, they just never had a chance of interaction with nonhuman civilians
I can see this being a split decision. Choose to side with the last city, or leave to join ranks with the eliksni. That would have HUGE ramifications, and I would be all for it. Screw the tower. This is a reach and a really vad ine at that, Alone we have NO CHANCE against the Darkness, the entire point of this as to show that we NEED to Forfeit our past problems and difference in the name of Survival.

I appreciate you referring to our guests as the "People of the House of Light." Moving on from the Fallen moniker is one thing, but recognizing the Eliksni people AS people is going to be the big hurdle in building peace, I think.

They still hold a power. They're literally what the guardians stand for and whilst the Guardians could just kill them all if they rebelled. No one in the vanguard or anyone in the City would actually do that. Of course they don't have the physical ability to overthrow the Vanguard or the Guardians. But they are the core spirit of the City, and hold power because of what they represent to the Guardians.

@@aabahdjfisosososos yes and no they really only shoot us out of fear a few bad egg guardians made it bad for them the lore this season tells that from mithax and his daughter he’s scarred of saint 14 because he thinks he will kill him like other guardians killed his people they even killed innocents the fallen are actually good people most of them atleast the hive are the real problem tho

@@samushunter242 A Eliksni from the ramen shop lore tab was murdered due to Amanda accidentally saying a lot of curse words forgetting that the Fallen speak broken English wouldn't understand that the words she said where curse words which spread about the house of light and when Ramen Eliksni said those same exact words not understanding they where curse words, he was murdered by a small group of people, which lead to the confrontation of the Ramen Eliksnis brother. Its rather sad.
I like the Fallen so much more than Humanity now, it makes me question whether we should really be called Guardians
@@Glucoseus well the thing is that the Fallen came and attack us First, no warning, no deals or tried for peace, they came to our solar system to KILL US much like the Hive and the earlier Legions of the Cabal.
We rightfully fought back in self defense, theres always going to be those of Humanity that will be Tyrants, thats just yhe fact that we live in a fallen world, a fallen people.
So the Fallen shouldn't be surprised by the hostility it faced when they started attacking us first, they did a lot of war crimes against us willingly or not much like how humans can do the same thing. We are fallible due to what happened in the Garden of Eden.
The Fallen of the House of Light so far gave been good, but even in the lore there are still those who still think we deserve extinction even for the very same was crimes they did to us first.
War is complicated, all sides have there darkenness, its just that it will take time to build trust with the minority of yhose who do not wish to see us dead anyway.
@@LcplAnimeGuy yeah i feel like though the fallen were distraught over the traveler leaving them which led to the the collapse of their society and because of how hurt they were they wanted the traveler to feel their pain so then they started killing humans to hurt the traveler which led to the war we have been fighting all this time but i feel like house light recognizes that and doesnt want it to happen they just wanna live in peace near the traveler and not have their babies grow up starving i think they just want to fix everything that has happened since the traveler left them and now the ball is in the last cities court and i feel like both sides shouldnt just forget what happened but they should remember and move on knowing that it can be better if both parties band together i mean imagine how much better our armories could be with fallen tech i mean we already basically have cabal allies so if we have the cabal and fallen on our side then thats even better tech wise and the last city can expand if we work together we could be unstoppable and reclaim earth from the scattered red legion and the scattered houses of fallen but the main problem with everything i said about working together for the betterment of everyone involved is dumbass lakshmi honestly if we could exile her the last city would be so much better for it

Looks like we need to get a joint Citizen, Guardian, and Fallen task force going. That always ends well.
I'm really curious if House Light is still going to be in the city at the end of the season given how eager people (in game) seem to be to throw them out or worse.
I'm sure their little quarter will remain as a permanent fixture. The end of the season should be a form of reconciliation that cements House Light as recognized allies of the City, whether Lahksmi likes it or not.

I find this season to be very relevant to today’s problems as this parallels certain unfortunate events and misinformation that gets spread. Laksmhi is a very interesting antagonist here because of her status as a politician and how she is very skilled in getting other people to do her dirty work.
Hearing this part of the story genuinely hurt. This story gets better and more sad with every week

I kinda enjoy that we have lakshmi-2 as an antagonist as it touches on an enemy we can't just shoot down we've had a few of those but I think she will be one of the more nuanced ones

I feel like this is how Laskemi-2's future starts. Some of the members of House of Light have to veterans from the old houses and might try to cause a riot. I predict that a new house could take form.
I think the immersion and enjoyability of destiny would sky rocket if some of these lore entries were actual interactions or side quests that could happen in game. Rather than just being read.
The sound effects added to the dialogue is an inspired touch. I'd greatly like to see this used going forward as well, if the card and editing time permits!

I seem to recall stories of Eliksni devouring children in some of the lore cards. The majority of humanity is in survival mode. It seems reckless/unreasonable to allow Eliksni to wander without being escorted.
Really hope they let us confront lakshmi at some point in the story and make her responsible for her scapegoating
My fav part of this is the guardian named "Nino's Voluptuous Thighs" With the Unstoppable symbol by their name that's running around at about 10:00 -ish

Thank you for this Byf. It was enjoyable because I love listening to you talking about the lore. I'm glad you took this series of stories a lot better than some of the other people talking about it, saying "Humanity is awful for doing this". Yeah they're awful and their excuse for doing it is as you said, hundreds if not thousands of years of Eliksni raiding killing humans just to get to the great machine. I like the Eliksni of the City, but I'm also a Guardian, I see what humanity can't. The humans can't even leave the city without putting themselves at risk and now they can't even live in the city without risk because of the Vex attack. To make matters worse Ikora did something that should have been by consensus. If she wants to make the Vanguard the Dictators she could do it easily. Not many will stop her. But then Humanity dies because of the spark that makes us human: Choice and Free Will. It is the double edged sword of our existence. Our problem is that we've been trying to protect the last city for so long that we sheltered humanity from having the free will and choice to go out and see that Fallen have changed over the centuries. Yes there is a lot of murderous ones, but because they don't get to see any of the good, there is nothing else. And yeah, Amanda Holiday is at fault, I hope it gets addressed. I'm holding out that this Eliksni buddy survived but I'm not hopeful for the city. I want to protect the city; humans and eliksni both. But the Vanguard is at fault for essentially caging humanity within the walls of the city.
Im ready to use my darkness on the city if humans don't stop this...

Don't cry it's not real.... But for really for real... Dudes not dead the lore card made it pretty clear but JUST vauge enough to leave some "feeling" a way.
But the Exo hunter is clearly chasing after him when he said "he couldn't have gotten far" while trying to climb inside that wall.
They obviously planned to and they likley cut off a few of his limbs (something they do to themselves sometimes as punishment).
They call it docking and it's not a good thing but doesn't mean death in fact they can even grow their limbs back in some cases.
In darkness the only enemy is your own fear for others leaving those we would call friends

Two days ago, I was hearing you tell the story about the Crow's cargo and right after hearing what Amanda said, I was like... "OH.. thats not a good way to 'explain' something to someone that don't actually knows your language, that could be used again incorrectly"... Sadly... today, I learned that thats exactly what happened....
I guess for the first time in Destiny's lore, I'm feeling bad for a supporting character. I suppose that its intesified by the fact that we are kinda seeing a scenario similar to the current content between Eliksni and Human race in our daily life as well, and probably that was Bungie's intent here.... nicely done...very sad.. but well done
I'd also like to point out how Bungies writing team hit home to current events. As a black man living in America with everything going on, to seeing how the Asian community was treated during the beginning of the pandemic, to what's going on just on a daily basis.... This is impactful

So many levels of depth and layers here, and I absolutely Love it. The misplace hatred for Fallen/Eliksni for what they've done to humanity in the past, and how that hatred breeds more hatred for humanity in the eyes of the Fallen/Eliksni. and that little touch of that Fallen/Eliskni hating Guardian who use Statsis really ties it all in (A lot of People forget the Fallen/Eliksni has a religious zealotry when it comes to the Travel and the Light, and anyone who uses the power of Darkness are seen incredibly negatively)
It's all really sad and depressing right now, especially with Lakshmi-2 stoking the flames (I've read the spoilers and She gets what's coming to her) But man do I love stories like this where the World isn't as Black and White as people may have initially thought, and that in these sort of conflicts no one is in the "Right"

There's a whole lot more to unpack here for sure. I hope guardians will wise up and see adding more violence will not solve the problem, as these lore tabs are suggesting. But the small-minded people on this thread wanting to go out and kill humans in the city (in-game of course) also have it wrong. The only one loving this is Savathun. Remember that.

She "Accidentally" let's the vex into the city (Which will be the final stage of season 14) and during the panic and invasion she gets killed by a vex Off-screen. Ikora has a voice line that confirms she was killed. Some restructuring of the Factions begins, and people start to like the Fallen a bit more for helping civilians during the invasion (Mithrax and Saint-14 have a really heart warming moment)
