- Hei guys, I'm slowly setting up the studio and this is one of the last pieces of the puzzle the ELGATO Wave Mic Arm LP or Low Profile version.
I unbox and place the desk and clamps on a thick 5cm IKEA Malm desk to show you guys this mic arm can fit the thickest of tables. It feels sturdy was easy to install. I explain the pros and cons of it and how I placed it on my desk.

What about the cable holder from the MALM desk? Did you find any issues not mounting it to the desk? It is stable anyway? I wonder if I can avoid using it having 3 clamps... (monitors, camera and mic)

Thanks for the video. If you adjusted the height of the mic would it loosen and need retightening? Or can you move it up and down and it just stays where you want it?
Great question and sori i took so long to reply. Thus far moving it up and down hasn't made it budge AT ALL. I have started to leave the mic on the stand permanently and it sits on a 45 degree angle (top mic arm extension at 45 degrees). Amazingly it just sits there, doesn't budge. So you DON'T need to retighten it. I do hope I can say the same thing in two years time LOL. Hope this helps.

Hey Ho, just searching for a mic and mic arm atm and got this arm as one of my favorites so far. but I got a little question about the extra part on 8:53 that you use to connect both mic and arm. Is that part included in the arm (or the mic) or is that an extra thingy? Would be cool if i get an answer, as I don't wanna buy something wrong or miss something for multiple days^^''
Yoo, that part comes with the mic. Its in the box. If you've got the HyperX and the Elgato you dont need anything extra to fit em together. Hope this helped.

100 Euro for this hell no, takes top much space and looks ugly and a clean setup, the mic stand is fine and you put it horizontal infront u and not clicking view to the screens
When it comes to desk mounted boom arms, it's either this or the obnoxious scissor arms. Pick your poison, basically.
