This round Chris tried to go slower and I take breaks to teach him some fundamentals. Including a great back take from closed guard!

“The diamond”. I like that way of explaining it.
Great roll! He looks like a very conscientious white belt. Guys like him mostly have a faster and better evolution.
Thank you! You are correct sir!
He looked way better this video and I garentee less exhausted great work
Thank you! Chris will be happy to read this!
He was way calmer. Less exhausted means more rolling which means more learning.
Yes very often I see white belts taking off rounds due to lack of wind due to inefficiency. @@nerdobject5351
"Look for the answers in positions." Well said.
I learn so much from this narrative rolls. Thank you brother !
Thank you for always supporting Juan
Please keep them coming! Im learning so much and enjoying your narration and how higher belts think during a roll. thanks for posting.
You are welcome! Much more to come!
Excellent video! It is fantastic that you are helping/teaching Chris. I learned a lot, too. I like how you talk about the diamond position - that was very interesting,
Thank you! The Diamond is the set up for many attacks. Thank you for watching and appreciating his progress. More to come!
Awesome to see how much he improved in such a short time
Agreed!
As a new white belt, I really appreciate this 😂
I hope you've seen part 1. Thank you
The story of his friend sending him the previous video is hilarious.
He's lucky to have a experienced practitioner in the same gym take so much time and interest in his development, but also, means he has a humble enough mentality that you would be willing to do so. Good sign for your gym!
He is a Jiu-jitsu lottery winner. A well deserving one.
Great vid and commentary!
Thank you! I appreciate that
As a white belt, I like the white belt videos the best
I have plenty more coming since most students are white belts. :)
yay!@@Jitsover50
These rolls against white belts are good since they show all the mistakes so clearly - it's educational. And great narration. Thanks again!
That is true. Plus you can see my mistakes against higher belts
@@Jitsover50Not really, I can't see anything in those - too high level. :D It looks like nothing much is happening in those, but I'm sure the exact opposite is true, a lot is happening. I just don't see it.
@@RBadding when it’s happening to me I don’t see it either. Haha!
@@Jitsover50 Me and one of my coaches were talking about recording some rolls for just that reason. We want to see what there is going on and have a true look at what we look like rolling. Are we doing the things we think we're doing or not?
@@SauceMario yes totally. You can analyze together!
That loop choke/pendulum sweep is so fun. It doesn't work often but when it does it feels great. I like to finish it into a bow and arrow(*Edit-and I see you did just a few moments later). It's kind of a white belt only move but it's fun so I throw it out when I can.
I feel like the bow and arrow leaves too much room for escape. I do more of an improvised.
Dude got up quick.
He's a rock climber. I know he got up on one leg
Has taken me awhile to get that hip bump working right. Gotta make sure to get a hand free to push the leg so you can scoot your leg in to pull guard. Tough as a tall guy!
Just make sure when your hips land that you have made enough space. Sometimes you have to bump and shrimp a couple of times. When your hips are far enough away then slide your knee in
Another solid video! Question…do you usually get the finish with that loop choke shown at 0:45?
Yes. Though I've been using it to sweep lately! Good question
man, your technique is so solid. how often do you train?
Thank you. 4 days a week.
I'm a 47 year old purple belt and I do 3-5 a week too but your understanding of the concepts is next level. do you do a lot of drilling vs rolling, do you watch tutorials, etc?@@Jitsover50
