For those confused about the first thing he mentioned. You need to charge the watch a bit (sun or bright flashlight) for it to be able to set and use functions.
You kinda missed the am pm setting. You have to set the 24 hr setting after you set the hour and minute. This tells the watch wether is am or pm. You set 24hr, by pushing the a button one more time after you set the hour and minute at the end of the process he goes over. The 24 time must match the time on the main hands for everything to work properly. If they dont match the universe explodes........Good luck
So TRUE! This is VITALLY IMPORTANT. Nothing works properly in sync if you don't do set it. Perpetual doesn't work. Alarm doesn't work. Day-Date doesn't work, etc. - UNLESS that 24 hour clock is also set IN SINC with the 12 hour watch face!
My date keeps on changing at odd times, How do i set it to change date at 12am ? Its like changing after 12pm i am in kuwait does this make a difference?
Super helpful video, thanks so much. One thing, I tried to set this watch up a long time ago and I think I messed it up. When it comes to the days of month, leap year, months, the little pointer is in between the numbers! In addition, comparing to yours my months, leap year, and days go to a different area unlike yours for leap year 0, month 1, day 1 of the month. Is there any way to fix this?
@@MahendraSingh-rp6er I don't remember how I fixed mine, but there is a way to set it right on the number. Just watch the video and go through the steps he does and tinker with it.
How to update the hands individually to the correct "zero" position. Pull the crown to second click, then hold A button for 2 seconds or longer. All the hands will now move to the preliminary position. Using button B, use it to set the stopwatch hand to 0:00, the stopwatch second hand to 0, and then the power reserve indicator to "low". Once done, push in the crown to normal position, set the calendar as in the video and you are done!
I have a problem. On crono mode the second hand was pointing like around32 sec marker. I got it somehow fixed but now when I go the the calendar mode the upper circle with days is all screwed up... when it should point Monday for example it point exactly opposite half way... can somebody help please???

Press the B button to move it back by one minute. • Push the crown in to normal position
My dials seem to be out of sync, they do not line up they way they do in this video, how to I re calibrate this watch so that I can follow the instructions?
can any one help my little hand that states the month date alarm is all out of sync its not on the days of the week or month it goes anywhere please help
The sub-dial has two functions. 1. If you DON'T use the alarm, the sub-dial tracks your current time. Note that it is a 24hr clock - the hour hand goes round only once in 24 hrs. Look carefully for the hour printed on the 24hr chapter ring around the sub-dial. 2. If you set the alarm, the sub dial will remain at the alarm setting until the alarm goes off, after which it returns to tracking current time. To set the current time: 1. wait for the running seconds indicator (smallest sub-dial) to reach zero, then pull out the crown two clicks. 2. use button B to set the sub-dial a minute ahead of current time. 3. twist the crown to set the regular hour and minute hands to the same time. 4. when the exact minute is reached, gently push the crown back in, two clicks. If you set the watch correctly in this manner, the day and date will flip exactly at midnight, since they track the small 24hr watch setting and not the large regular hands.
Sat here trying instructions way, not helpful at all. Thank you for doing this, was much easier with your instructions. First Seiko, so I'm sure that's most of the confusion!!
After spending two days with the Seiko Coutura, I threw it in the trash where it belongs. Horrible instructions. They make like a hundred versions of this watch and the manual does not match the model number.
The instructions that came with the watch couldn't have been any less clear. Thanks for making this a 5 minute process!
Best video watched till now for chronos setting. Very well explained it. Thank you very much sir!

This was helpful thanks, but what is the other part of the watch for? The bottom dial??
Exactly.... I think that is 24 hrs time but pls someone confirm...
Thanks mate. It’s been sitting on the dresser since daylight savings ended. I lost the book that came with it.

How do you make sure it's set to am or pm?
My date keeps on changing at odd times, How do i set it to change date at 12am ? Its like changing after 12pm i am in kuwait does this make a difference?
How do I set the proper time, i.e. if it's 5:00 or 17:00? Thanks!
When I pull out the crown, it doesn't go to the day of the week but to "AL / L / M"... what's wrong?

My dials seem to be out of sync, they do not line up they way they do in this video, how to I re calibrate this watch so that I can follow the instructions?
Try find the manual for your watch.
Anyone know if this model exists in all silver rather than two tone?
I`m having a problem, I can`t pull the crown out, it is stuck. Can anybody help me please.
can any one help my little hand that states the month date alarm is all out of sync its not on the days of the week or month it goes anywhere please help
Thanks, could you make a video on how to use the sub dial?
I will try, I no longer have the watch. Here is a link to the manual. seikousa.com/support/watch-manuals/V198.pdf

1. wait for the running seconds indicator (smallest sub-dial) to reach zero, then pull out the crown two clicks.
2. use button B to set the sub-dial a minute ahead of current time.
3. twist the crown to set the regular hour and minute hands to the same time.

If you set the watch correctly in this manner, the day and date will flip exactly at midnight, since they track the small 24hr watch setting and not the large regular hands.
You forgot to show them how to set the 24 hr format time so that it matches with the actual time so that the watch knows when it's AM or PM.
Have to go back to college
hello is the model in the video SSC560?
yes
Sat here trying instructions way, not helpful at all. Thank you for doing this, was much easier with your instructions. First Seiko, so I'm sure that's most of the confusion!!
This is a miserable thing to get right... Even with instructions and video, it's a PITA to get it all synched up right.. Grr
After spending two days with the Seiko Coutura, I threw it in the trash where it belongs. Horrible instructions. They make like a hundred versions of this watch and the manual does not match the model number.
Do not purchase seiko watches from MACYS, they arrive without instructions booklets.
I bought the Coutura from Macys but the nasty crooks didn't send the instruction book. Never buy from Macys.
Seeing this, I changed my mind to buy it. This is terrible.
