Probably the best tutorial I've seen on the maneuver so far. Smooth, thought out, shows the complications and successes, and does so with each ESF. Great work, Digg!
this may have been addressed, but it's possible with hover stability too, you just have to tap your AB before you begin your roll, this will give the ESF just enough of an increase in forward momentum to compensate for the added drag of the airframe
The main thing to know is that if the plane is on fire it is completely different. When on fire just point the nose up 20 degrees, hit the AB and exit. The second you rep to the point where the flames stop though, get back in. At that point the plane will start flying normal again and dust you I believe.
Btw, this can be done with a Galaxy, but it works differently. You need to have a passenger jump out while you are hitting the crouch key, then stop your decent so they land on top of the galaxy. They can heal you and then get back in.
Yep. Apparently the problem I laid out at the beginning is much less an issue when the ESF is on fire (they handle differently). For simplicity however you can still heal while not on fire and this is quite easy to do. And I was able to put a fire out so it will work in the regards, though I admit not as well.
as someone playing vanu and NC, i can tell you doing this with a scythe is WAY easier try to make a corkscrew roll for the scythe just like for the reaver, but dont point your nose up the same way
a word to the wise: only change the "exit" key button if you do exactly what he says in the vid. For example, I still have E as "enter vehicle" but I changed "exit" to the middle mouse button
Of course this is way outdated, but the main difference likely between what you are trying to do and what you have seen others do when repairing... is that an ESF when on fire flies slower and behaves differently. To really test it you have to shoot your ESF until it is on fire and then try some exits.
Yes but it requires you to do it at least twice which is pretty difficult if you aren't at a high altitude. Your better off doing it once to get a little time (you'll be descending the whole time) and just land if you can.
I must add that it does not work with ejection seat turned on, I tried it in the vr where I still had it on and it ejects you in such a way that you won't move forwards
Hey digg, may i ask you whether the scythe behaves differently with different load outs ? because i have been trying exactly what you've instructed but i always exit behind and below the esf and the esf just continue to fly as i fall. my load out was nosegun + pods, with dogfighting frame, auto repair and flare. i flew with 30~40 degrees angle, cruise with 195~200 kph and spin with a bound key then exit the vehicle. been trying for an hour and still failing. may i ask where did i do wrong ?
Still possible, though I am very very rusty. Reaver, Dogfighting 3, rolling leftward, 30*. Just after arsenal update. This is also called the Rendezook manuver
Has anyone else noticed that the keyboard keys roll left/right don't seem to give the ESF momentum anymore? This used to make things very easy, but now it seems only the mouse give the plane momentum...
I appreciate the time you took to figure this out, but what you are doing in your vid, and what that guy did are 2 different things. His was WAY more efficient.
I'm on r/planetside and I didn't even see it lol. All I did was search for mid air repairing and the videos people have made of it use it to fire rockets out of apparently.
TheWafflesPvP When I last played that was caused by the Ejection System unlock being on. I'll be quite sad if the Dogfighter airframe causes it now as I just started playing again.

Thank you. I had absolutely no idea someone had already figured this out XD.
Direct Air Repair Turn? Dart?
Yes, it was mentioned in the video.
That is some slick dare devil work there. Totally have to try this sometime. =o

Timeless quote
1:19 he waves to the Reaver to make it come closer
This works with the pilot turning around and shooting rockets at the enemy following, phoenix works best.
Can you outheal the slow DoT if you were to be, say, hanging on just a sliver of health?
I must add that it does not work with ejection seat turned on, I tried it in the vr where I still had it on and it ejects you in such a way that you won't move forwards
bravo, gj on figuring this out
hahaahaha "I was a lesbian for an hour"
. Thank you for this video, I have been spending hours trying to figure it out.
Beautiful! gives me something to work on. thanks man!
Thanks for this, and does it matter what speed you're going?
If you paste:
"Emotitron Scythe Mid-air Repair"
Into the youtube search bar you can see how I do it with the scythe.

The Dart A.K.A
Rendezook (using the dart to bazooka youre enemy behind you)
I used to be able to do this back in 2014... let's see if this holds up in 2022

I was runnin from some enemys a few days ago accedentaly jumped out as i was rolling and ended up getting back in... i
'As a Reaver Pilot'? They exist? Why do I never see them?
Whenever I jump out of the vehicle I don't move with the esf, I just drop. Help?
Nvm I fixed it, I was using the dogfighter airframe and it was making it not work.

This CAN be done in a racer module.
Thanks for sharing this
or theres something called fire supression upgrades...
Oh, I thought he said it could be done in any configuration *but* racer. My bad.
Fucking impossible in a mosquito
Thanks for "being a lesbian for an hour" just for us. Subbed.
Do a Liberator! :D
Thanks Wrel ^_^
Nice! :D
"Being a lesbian for a hour".. so great :D
