    This, being real, sounds so much more like a Rivals of Aether character than a Smash character.
    Where Smash's characters are a lot more self-centered, RoA's impact the stage a bunch more, with all characters having at least one tool that changes the stage, like a puddle that can be teleported to or turned into puddles. With the MUGEN-like steam workshop it has, I could see at least one dedicated individual taking this video and turning it into a fresh character.

    This is probably the best "Let's create a moveset for a character I'd like to see in Smash" kind of video I've ever seen. Clearly a ton of thought and effort went into making this. I wouldn't mind seeing Rayman show up in a future Smash game if he had a really wacky playstyle like this that led to unpredictable matches even in competitive play.

    Ok, this is so much better than the first one, I could go on and on about why is this is amazing but I'd probably do that later since I don't have another hour on my hands, but I'd just like to say the magic fist gimmick is the most genius thing I've ever heard in a Smash fan made concept and that is not an exaggeration.

    His ledge hang without hands could be him biting the edge, if he would hang for longer the distance between his body parts gets longer before letting go of the edge or snapping back before the ledge hang time runs out.
    If the hands are not available for the tether he could maybe elongate his hair for grabbing and the like.

    A gamer can dream. This was easily my most wanted DLC fighter, and I feel he just barely missed out.

    Your ideas with his limbs are fascinating to think about, though I do have some questions:
    -If both his arms are disconnected, does he grab with his feet, or does he give a big chonk with his mouth?
    -Can he still use a grab recovery without his hands?
    -Can his limbs be grabbed like items if they're disconnected, or are disconnected limbs exempt from his grab hurt-box?
    -Would Rayman hold items in his mouth if he doesn't have his hands, or would they float beside him?
    -Whatever his Final Smash is, it'd be neat if he got all his limbs back if he lands it, like how Robin recovers his durability if he lands his Final Smash. Unless your idea of a FS would be a punch combo, where it's a slightly different animation depending on the amount of limbs Rayman has at the time, which sounds ridiculously janky in the most Rayman way possible.
    -Since people like when Mega Man has his death animation in his games, it'd be funny if your idea for Rayman's down special was his death animation in Stamina. Imagine how hilariously morbid it'd be if, after Rayman loses a stock in Stamina, his limbs convert into throwable items.
    -Having to finagle your way around a stage to get disconnected limbs back sounds like a chore on massive stages like Great Cave Offensive or 75m. What are your thoughts on disconnected limbs automatically returning to Rayman on a set timer, or giving him a shield special that automatically returns them to him like how Steve can teleport his crafting table back to himself? Having a set timer would make it so Rayman players have to be more pro-active in working with returning limbs, like how Cloud's Limit in Ultimate has a timer until it goes away so Cloud doesn't always have it in his pocket when it's filled up. A shield special feels like it'd help in accessibility for beginner Rayman players who have a hard time getting their limbs back, and lets more pro players play mix-up with whether they call back their limbs or have them return naturally.

      To the first couple of questions I just see him using his mouth.
      For the Final Smash I'm a little hesitent, simply because unlike Robin, Rayman is a character that might actually want to be missing some of his resource. Could still work, especially if the limbs charged back like they'd been hit with a Magic Fist I just don't want a super move where the character might be dissuaded from using it.
      Rayman's limbs becoming throwable items like Wario's bike after death is a phenominal idea and I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it first.
      And for that last bit, I think that's a fantastic point and workaround. I wouldn't want them on a timer, because that would make it tricky to have moments where Rayman is on one side of the stage, his limbs are on the other, and when a magic fist finally finds them it just deletes everything in its way. But yes, to avoid annoying hiccups where Rayman just can't get a limb back, it would be nice to have a shield special, return-all-limbs button.

      @@TheDukeofDorks I suppose your first point makes sense. I can also see how the fists/feet returning on a timer would be disruptive to Rayman for set-ups. Honestly, I wish more characters got shield specials, like a Change Beam Type for Samus or making it the Shine for the Star Fox characters so they can have more unique attacks for down specials like grenades or other weapons from Assault.
      Additional question: how would Pocket interact with disconnected fists/feet? I know that Pocketing Pyra's Blazing End doesn't prevent Pyra from doing normal sword attacks, as she gets her sword back even though the original sword stays Pocketed. Would Rayman's fists/feet work similarly? Makes me wonder if fists/feet thrown by Pocket would still be affected by Magic Fist.

    Rayman was my most requested character! Honestly, if this WASNT his moveset, I’d be disappointed! You did an OUTSTANDING job with this video! Your quality always astounds me!
    Origins and 2 are by far my favorite! Legends is too easy, 3 has the best gameplay I’ve ever played, but I sorta can’t stand anything else about it, and I don’t really have a major gripe with the first one, I just like the rest more.
    One odd character I REALLY want in Smash, is the Bulborb from Pikmin. I heard someone say that as a joke once and went “haha yeah imagine… wait a minute…” and he’s been my 2nd most requested since haha.

    This is a good moveset, very similar in implementation and comedic stylings to Sukapon, the main character of Joy Mech Fight. Joy Mech Fight was released in 1993 for the Famicom and was an excellent fighting game, starring a little robot who wanted to be a comedian but was forced to fight with his anti-gravity limbs. Did you know that it features over 30 playable characters, something that would not be exceeded until King of Fighters '98, which was a 3v3 game compared to Joy Mech Fight's 1v1 nature? It's crazy! Now that you have listened to my paragraph, you should make a Joy Mech Fight video thank you.

    This moveset is crazy creative. Honestly smash should have more characters that are just pure chaos, even if the *tier list* says they suck. Though it was kinda confusing how long the magic fists last, I’d imagine they don’t stay around forever. Also how far would his grab go and can his hand be knocked around during it. As for my dream character I want Knuckles… I just like Knuckles and Sonic doesn’t have the greatest representation in smash

    I might be biased towards my boy Rayman, but I think this is your best video by far. For many reasons.
    The increase in quality of this remake in comparison to the original video is honestly amazing. I didn't expect that, since I already loved the original, but this video really made so many improvements I didn't even think were necessary at first. For instance, explaining how carefree and random the Rayman series is really helped give more of a reason to make Rayman's moveset this weird resource management fighter. I wasn't quite sold on that idea before, as it seemed to only come from the fact that he's limb-less, but now I've grown to really love it.
    The moveset itself is amazing, too. It'd make for a very fun and chaotic character, it has so much creativity, and perfectly translates the personality of Rayman. From all the movesets you've made, I think I still prefer the 4th-wall-breaking Waluigi concept, but this is definitely a close second.
    I can see why this took a while to come. Just an amazing video overall. I'm very happy to see such an amazing moveset for Rayman. It finally made me want him in Smash for more than just his music again.
    (Also, I didn't know where to write this, but the brief Rayman Redemption gameplay alone got me to like the video.)
    Edit: also, Origins is my personal favorite Rayman game, with Redemption as a close second (yes, I consider Redemption an official entry of the series. You can't stop me). I haven't played Rayman 2 and 3 though.

    i wasnt on board at first but i do love how much focus you put into the limbless mechanic and how his moveset synergises on that concept, this would be a very original and creative character to play with, and your line about "the old moveset was just a paint by numbers" caught my interest, its clear you tried to make a moveset that was designed to create chaos and utilise the fluid state of his limbs in a way no one else could achieve, it was very interesting to watch

    I never played a Rayman game, but this moveset sounds like a ton of fun. I could see Rayman being one of those characters that, if he got added and had a fun moveset like this, I'd probably be interested in trying the series out, much like how Terry got me interested in Fatal Fury/Garou, and Mega Man got me to finally try out the classic series. Watching this and the Dark Matter video is really motivating me to try my hand at Smash concepts again. My old Master Chief moveset could use a bit of a change, and I have some fun ideas for other characters as well.

    I cannot lie this is one of the most interesting concepts I’ve ever seen for a potential fighter and I’d go as far to say that it’s genius, this is genuinely something that would be really cool to see added to smash in a potential future and It’s so cool to see how far you’ve come since the original rayman video, I can tell a lot of thought, work, and care went into this video and this concept so it would be awesome to see this possibly implemented.

    Before I do the whole FAQ thing, I do want to clarify something real quick. This isn't stating any sort of dissatisfaction towards Smash Ultimate and it's DLC, that was an amazing ride that I was delighted to take part in. I just enjoy making character concepts, honestly more than I do actually playing the game. So while I will continue making these sorts of videos please don't take it as any sort of ingratitude towards the Smash development team, I'm just having fun!
    Now then, as usual I will be using this comment as an FAQ, to field questions and clarifications that I may have overlooked in the video. Please note that this is not an "Ask me anything and I'll answer" kind of deal, its purpose is more to fill in any blanks that the Brainstorm may have had.
    Q: This sounds overpowered/underpowered!
    A: How's everyone feel about a hot take? The Smash Brothers fanbase is laughably amateur at determining power based off of first impressions. Not saying those sorts of statements are right or wrong towards this video, but after seeing so many people call... well, every character overpowered, it's simply not a viewpoint I put much value in anymore. Valid balance opinions would require playtesting to see how things interact in the heat of battle, and with how ridiculous this interpretation of Rayman is there isn't really a good point of comparison. So is he imbalanced? I mean, probably, I'm sure something like this would have to be tweaked heavily before implementation, but it's impossible to say if it would need to be stronger or weaker based on this.
    Q: Why on earth did this video take so long?
    A: There's many reasons. Doing the Smash Bros Tier List opened my eyes to what I really value in a Smash Brothers character design, so this video went through MANY rewrites and reedits to get the final product seen here. And... I'll be honest, I've been having some heavy burnout. I'll talk more about it in a little update video coming soon, but while I am still invested in remaking older content, I didn't consider how creatively draining it would be to constantly revisit things I've already done before. I'm not 100% decided yet, but I think moving forward I'll be alternating between new and old brainstorms to avoid big gaps like this in the future.
    Q: How does Rayman grab without hands?
    A: I see him spitting the tether out of his mouth. Or maybe it comes out of the 'O' on his chest so he can still pummel by headbutting. That goes for any other Smash actions that traditionally rely on hands. So, biting ledges to grab them, holding items in his mouth, etc.
    Q: What does Kirby get?
    A: Two possibilities there. He either gets only the charged shot version of it (As the regular would be useless for him) OR he spits out a random limb as if it had already been hit by a magic fist. I'd personally prefer the latter, because Kirby getting Rayman's hair then immediately spitting out his shoe sounds absolutely hilarious to me.

      Great work! 1 thing, YOU SOLD ME TOO MUCH. Now I want to play actually play him.
      For me, I’d want bandana dee to finish the squad or paper Mario. What if paper Mario was more affected by, everything! Fire deals more damage to him, water will slow him temporarily, but wind or anything high knock back will send him farther. Yes these are downsides but paper Mario could counter this. Not in a counter-attack way but send paper Mario into the air, he’ll fold into a paper airplane and kamikaze into you! Either that or his attacks can become multi hit or deal more damage by pressing A with correct timing.

      @@TheDukeofDorks this might sound like a cop out but I don’t think Rayman would fit in Smash. Maybe a platform fighter that is more gimmicky or something. It’s like a jigsaw puzzle. In Smash you’re kinda forcing the pieces together in ways they don’t fit or belong. In another game with a similar style or less competitive gameplay he would fit perfectly.

      @@ciancaldera395 Someone brought up Rivals of Aether as a better fit, which I'm tempted to agree. Lotta characters have more dynamic "stage control" kinda gimmicks, which this would probably fit in better.
      I disagree that he wouldn't fit in Smash altogether, but I definitely think he's more complicated to make work in an interesting way. Cause those pieces don't quite fit, but there's multiple characters like that that still turned out alright, Steve immediately coming to mind. But I also don't know if the amount of work to make that function would be worth the trouble for any character but Steve, ya know?

    I'm glad to see that people are still giving so much thought into Rayman for Smash Bros. I actually had a project of my own that I was working on back in 2019 and sadly fell off of. Watching this again gave me newfound motivation for who has to be my favorite platforming icon ever. Amazing concepts! Hoping at the very least that Rayman gets another bone thrown to him after Sparks of Hope comes out.

    I already wrote another comment, but seeing the end part of the video gave me a reason to share some of my most wanted fighters, in no particular order . (This isn't a prediction or a "fighters that *should* be in the game" list, by the way. Most of these are just pipe dreams)
    1) Rayman. This video is literally about him, so I don't feel obligated to say anything more about him.
    2) The Annoying Dog. I'm almost completely sure that this wouldn't happen. Even if Undertale or Deltarune gets a fighter, it'd probably be Frisk, Kris or Papyrus/Sans, and I don't think Toby would make the Smash Team add a character that's basically a representation of himself in the game. But the Annoying Dog is just such a whacky and funny character, and would make for such a weird fighter. I also think it'd be incredibly amusing to see Sephiroth being run over by a dog in a toy car.
    3) A Team Fortress 2 character. TF2 is definitely one of the shooter games with most personality, and its completely carefree and casual gameplay is so addictive. I feel like any TF2 character could make for an amazing fighter (other than the medic. I think he's better off as an Assist Trophy). It also has amazing music, so I obviously would love to see TF2 in Smash.
    4) Fancy Pants Man. Now *this* is my ultimate pipe dream. Unfortunately, Flash Games don't get much recognition nowadays, but I wholeheartedly think they were very important for gaming history. They were the gateway to gaming for many people who didn't have game consoles or good computers, and I think Fancy Pants is the most iconic of all Flash Game mascots. His moveset would also have a lot of potential. The way I see it, he'd be one of the fastest fighters in the game, maybe even rivaling the likes of Captain Falcon, but would also have a terrible turning speed (again, much like Falcon), and would take a bit longer than most fighters to reach his full speed. To counter this, he'd have the Ink Slide as a Special Move (it's basically like riding a PK Thunder), which would not only give him a better recovery, but would also allow him to turn faster while also maintaining his speed (which he obviously can't do by just turning around normally). However, that would also use up his ink meter, which he can only fill back up by landing hits on his opponents. Basically, Fancy Pants would be all about keeping your momentum and successfully hitting your opponents while doing so, and I think that would make for a great moveset. But that's not even the only thing I think he could bring to the table. It'd be so cool if he also brought music and spirits from other Flash Games, and if his stage was on top of the Newgrounds Tank, with other Flash Games having cameos. Yes, the chances of any of these things happening are astronomically small, if even possible at all. There's a reason why I called this the ultimate pipe dream. But I just couldn't get this idea out of my head, and really wanted to share it with others somewhere.
    5) Waluigi. Probably my most normal pick here. I just think Waluigi is one of the few non-fighter characters that really managed to make themselves part of the Smash Universe, to the point where I'd say he's the only character that actually feels like he's missing from the roster (not trying to throw shade at Sakurai and the Smash Team or anything, I just personally think that the Ultimate Smash Bros should've probably included Waluigi, as he's practically the face of Smash speculation, being one of the most discussed characters even after turning into an Assist Trophy). But of he was to come to the game as a fighter, I wouldn't want him to just reference Mario Spin-offs or do something boring like that. What made me really want Waluigi as a fighter was the 4th-wall-breaking Waluigi moveset concept you came up with. Not only does it fit Waluigi's character perfectly, but it also helps him feel very close to Smash, almost like a character that actually came from the game itself, which is something very few fighters do (ROB is the only one that comes to mind. Maybe the ICs too, since they have very little outside of Smash, and Smash came up with a lot of their moves and their personality). Because of that, I think Waluigi could be one of the best fighters to end a Smash game with (as long as he wasn't just Mario Spin-offs references).

    This to me is the perfect representation of Rayman in smash. I agree with it all and even before this video I had been wanting a character like this. It just so happens my favourite gaming mascot fits the bill perfectly!
    He is like captain Jack Sparrow and there is a quote in Pirates Of The Caribbean Worlds End that fit both Rayman and Jack perfectly. To put it simply "Do you think he plans it all out, or just makes it up as he goes along?"

    His helicopter should give him some upward momentum. It would even make sense canon wise. The super helicopter is something present in almost every game and it is always limited.

    Whatever dreamlike madness can be conjured by him, I will main him! He's kind of similar to a load of characters that I played with, I played licensed games like How To Train Your Dragon first game, Toy Story 3, etc with my personal favorite series being the Lego platformer series developed by TT games. The actual unlicensed games that I played were basically all of the Playstation reps that I find to be worth mentioning, my Mom told me that I played every original Spyro game when I was too young to remember that time, and then I played the entire Skylanders franchise during my Nintendo days. Then I played Ratchet and Clank, Crash Bandicoot, Little Big Planet (despite how much Shep angered me when I was younger with how he repeatedly tried to bully me in that game, though nowadays I look back fondly on simpler times), and there is probably more that I am forgetting. And then, when I moved here to Nintendo some of the franchises games that I remember playing were Pokepark (where did the good old days of pokemon go? They probably went into that game), Super Mario Bros Wii (was boringly bland to little me though I loved it still), the entire Mario and Luigi Series (I especially loved Dream Team, as that was not only the first game that I played but it was also the one that gave me the biggest impression in my childhood on what Mario was. I thought that it was basically like a combination of Rayman, Ratchet and Clank, or Lego, while still competing against the other platformers that I remember), etc.
    So, while there is most certainly too many characters for me to actually pinpoint which ones I wanted in Smash, I would have loved any of the Playstation reps to be in the game, and then there are some Nintendo characters like Dreambert, Fawful, The Elite Trio and the Captain Quartet, King Boo from Luigi's Mansion, etc. Though I did get Minecraft Steve, it was more for EmperorSheep, which unfortunately hasn't got Shep into the game, shep is the creative type though he hasn't played with his Legos for a long time and whenever he does play Smash I play his character, while he plays King Dedede.

    Honestly, I'm surprised you never mentioned Pyra in this video. She has a dedicated attack that launches her only attacking method, and until she gets the sword back, she can't attack. Surprised you didn't use that as a point for why this could work for Rayman's main mechanic as it physically can be done.

      That's because I never want Rayman to be unable to attack. Even if he's just limited to awkwardly bopping his head or swinging his torso around, it felt important to always make an attack input amount to something. Keeps the chaos somewhat accessible for new players to pick up and play him. Plus there's an inherent need to keep track of things like Pyra's sword, K. Rool's crown, etc., and for Rayman I wanted to keep the option of throwing caution to the wind and just seeing what happens.

    This was the best possible chaos to brighten my day, I pretty content with the smash roster growing up on emulating games like pretty all MegaMan up until 8 for hardware reasons not because it's bad. But I still have character ideas that could very interesting keep in mind I main olimar so these movesets will lean on the salty side. In my replies I will give two semiformed replies with one good one

    I think what I enjoy about your Rayman Design the most is that while he is simple on the surface, he is more complex the more you get to play him. A good example of easy to pick up and play hard to master.

    I remember the old video, when Rayman seemed likely as DLC, but a lot hope for his chances in Ultimate disappeared when Pyra/Mythra got confirmed, as Rayman seemed very unlikely as an E3 reveal or as the final fighter, Rayman always had a higher chance at a general Nintendo direct in my opinion.
    That said i never gave up on Castlevania and K Rool after Smash 4, and i won’t give up on Rayman after Ultimate.

    my perfect idea for Rayman's final smash is simply called "but they can dance"
    he does a fingersnap, wich summons a kind of a kaleidoscope portal
    anyone sucked in, will be forced to dance like in the Rabbids trailer of the same name
    music & background rabbids and all
    it does not deal damage
    but it is a launching move, anyone trapped, will be launched in any direction after there dance
    meaning you want to deal as much damage, before doing the final smash

    That's a pretty neat moveset. You definitely put a lot of love and energy into it. I feel you on the whole 'waiting for your #1' thing. I got Wolf back in Brawl, but sadly Krystal remains to join. Thrilled to bits she at least made it in as an Assist Trophy, no doubt thanks to the Ballot, but MAN I wish she made it in. If she's a character you like, I'd love to see your take on her or anyone else from the Star Fox series.

    This is a fantastic moveset for Rayman, a good representation of the insanity of his world along with all of the slapstick it encompasses. I do think a good way of adding Rayman 3's power-ups would be to treat them like Min Min's arms, only have him wearing the gloves of the combat fatigues, adding a bit more control to this chaotic idea.
    Neutral Special: Laser-Washing Powder
    Vortex Fist: The fastest of the fists, it can quickly come back to Rayman and cause stun damage but causes the least amount of damage and knockback.
    Heavy Metal Fist: Has the highest damage value out of all of Rayman's attacks, but it's the slowest of the fists leaving it the most vulnerable to be knocked back by other players.
    Lockjaw Fist: Actually hangs in the air a few seconds longer than all of the fists, but that's a part of its trap. Any foe that tries to get close to these fists will automatically home in on the unlucky fighter who wanted to screw with these fists and trap them in its claw-like grip. However, it takes longer for this fist to return to Rayman, and can still be knocked back by projectiles.
    Shock Rocket Fist: It's the only fist that can be manually controlled by Rayman and it leaves him vulnerable since he can't move. Only one fist is available when using it, it has 8 seconds before it explodes, it has the highest knockback potential of all of his attacks, and after the fist explodes it will be propelled by the impact before returning to him normally. It's the riskiest of his attacks, but it gives Rayman the most control over his fists.

    Considering who could be next for a dream smash moveset, how about Adeleine? I feel her design would would work really well if it was the basis of her standing out from the rest of the Kirby Cast in smash (I mean she’s human after all) but she isn’t floaty, doesn’t have more than two jumps (No Ribbon in this moveset) and generally keep away from close combat due to her inherit nature as a Glass cannon (She has the lowest health out of any Kirby boss obviously.) but that’s where her specials come into play. Her neutral summons some random enemies to attack for her, but her up, side and Down specials has her create a drawing version of one of the animal buddies from the Dark matter trilogy, basically acting as a shield to soak up some damage and allowing her to get in closer with unique special attacks. Rick is great for staying on the ground and finishing off foes, Coo helps Adeleine get back on stage and out of danger, and Kine.. well he’s probably good at getting people off of Adeleine with his very close range attacks. However they only use Specials so keep that in mind.
    This was just a fun idea to bring in a Kirby character to show more of the franchise than just Sakurai’s four games.

    Rayman is one of my most wanted characters, alongside Mipha and the Boy and Blob. The moveset was far more unique than I expected, and I love it so much.

    I sadly left Smash after the final fighter was announced. I felt as though my bro had me support Nintendo too much when I never was all that close to them. So when Rayman, Crash, Geno, Bomberman and not even Waluigi were not fighters, I knew I had no future with the company and I was having the worst time of my life when the final fighter was revealed.
    Moral of the story is help out others because while dreams can come true, they won't for everyone. 😥 😔

    The magic fists seem to depend on the stage a lot. They'll hit a lot more in smaller stages. So what if they bounce mostly towards rayman? Specifically, the further the magic fist is from rayman, the more it will favour bouncing in directions generally towards rayman. This should keep them roughly near rayman no matter what stage he's in, making them hit raymans limbs and opponents near him about equally often in each stage.

    Welp best start with Rayman first before I go into a spiel about characters I would have liked. I really love this chaotic concept; I would have liked to see some of the other concepts from the series get into his moveset but I REALLY like this silly playstyle and how chaotically interesting a character it could make him. His Final Smash might need some tweaking for a more cinematic final smash or at least a quicker one...much as I like the concept which I do, more than the standard 'use Mosquito' idea. Fun video and makes me hope even if Smash is done the remakes won't be the last of these kinds of videos, I'd like to hear all kinds of ideas for all kinds of characters to join Smash; 3rd party to Nintendo. Even if all we got was a podcast of just weekly ideas for random characters to toss around ideas for (whether its to explain you know nothing about the character, to dedicate a full episode to a character, or to just consider other ideas from the series or so on.) Heck wouldn't mind seeing this series evolve for other fighting games since you did some on Nickelodeon All Star Brawl. With Multi-Versus that could be interesting too.
    As for my dreams. Well Banjo-Kazooie and Sora easily made me happy. A lot of the characters were interesting and fun options. Though I still had some others I'm sad couldn't join. Picking an absolute favorite I'd jokingly say Vault Boy or a similar rep from Fallout...but I feel like the moveset wouldn't be the most interesting (mostly ranged zoner options) save for the possibility of making VATS work.
    Other than that random characters I'd love to see included in the future are; Geno, Masterchief, Razputin (Psychonauts), A League of Legends character (I'd expect Ahri or Jinx, but would love a goofy concept like Neeko who can just turn into many of the other characters), Captain Toad, Waluigi, Shantae, Midna (riding Wolf Link), The Koopa Kid (having a Mario Party style moveset), Conker the Squirrel, Vivian (Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door), Krystal (Star Fox), Tingle (yes Tingle. Spitting Rupees and using his Balloons), Kamek, Porky Minch (in a small spider mech), Medusa (Kid Icarus), Cooking Mama, Shovel Knight, Diablo (especially after seeing you video on him), Skull Kid, Vicky Schmidt (Monster Prom...no idea what the moveset would be but seeing Monster Prom getting love as a spirit would at least be great), Scorpion or Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat (SZ seems the safer choice), Ray MKII (Custom Robo, would love an idea with interchangeable weapons and gadgets), Joey Claire/Xefros Tritoh (Hiveswap as a team idea), Kris or Susie (Deltarune), Tails (Sonic), honestly I could go on and on and list ideas but I think I posted a good amount of chaotic ideas.
    Regardless. Good video I'll be excited for whatever comes next.

    i wonder how a magic fist would interact with the limbs of another rayman, would it return the limb to theprevious rayman? or just turn the raymans into 3 feet 2 head abominations
    it is a really fun concept and it is a shame that ultimate has come to an end
    i'm glad sakurai is finally taking a breakat least
    as for fighters, i'm really happy about what we actually got i think all of them bring something new to the game
    there is something, however that i feel is lacking.
    smash bros is a plataform fighter and has a wonderful cas of characters, i do feel like the plataform fighter is a little under represented tho
    there isn't really a character focused in movement, no character that can just build momentum
    take celeste for example, there madeline can jump off of her dashes and maintain her momentum
    a character focused on movement like that would be a delight and would make moving around the stages a lot of fun
    it would also encourage the creation of wacky custom stages
    i believe 2B could've had a chance of maybe achieving that but i'm not confident that i know enough about her to tell
    how do you feel about it tho? is movement something you value as much as me? or is it just asnother idea that will pass over everyone's head? i'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on the matter

    This is really interesting. Considering how many projectiles would be flying around in 8-man smash I would tone down the amount considerably. The best way to limit it would be making his hands the only limbs he can detach.

    Great video! I appreciate how you delve into the “feeling” of the character, rather than focusing on the minutia. Personally, my dream character is 2B, but implementing that sounds impossible. Seriously, I think NieR: Automata is one of the hardest games to translate into a platform fighter I can imagine, for a number of reasons.
    1. A good adaptation can’t just pull from the action sections, because Automata also has hacking mini games, two versions of flight combat, and enough perspective shifts that I see it as part of the game’s identity.
    2. NieR is a story-driven game, full of topics which might not be appropriate for much of Smash’s demographic. Avoiding both that issue and spoilers is possible, but given that Smash would have to mention the story to some extent, I imagine the process would be tedious for everyone involved.
    3. The player experiences much of Automata as characters other than 2B. I would suggest a swap mechanic, but Pyra and Mythra already have that idea, alongside the “throwing a sword in a wheel” idea.

    Love the concept. I've been wanting to get into the series for a while, but never got the chance to.
    One character I'd love to have seen in Smash is Knack, because of the extremely unique gameplay he could have in the game. He'd obviously have to be shrunk, but I could see him as having five sizes/forms, with the tallest being the tallest ever Smash character by being as tall as Ridley is when he stands up as straight as possible.... buuut, due to his hollow body, his weight class would be one tier beneath his current appearance size. So, his largest size would be as heavy as Bowser and Ridley. While he's Bowser/Ridley size, he'd weigh about Link's weight. When Link's size, he'd weigh about Young Link's weight. When Young Link's size, he'd weigh about Pichu's weight. And when Pichu's size... yeah, lightest character ever.

    Currently Phoenix wright and Neku are my dream picks. While theirs other I would enjoy these are the two I enjoy that.have the most significant impact one by a wide margin hat don't sound completely unrealistic due to iconography/ realistic implementation (for example I really like Valkyria Chronicles but I don't see a way it could be implemented at least not as a character. Theirs also some revisions I think need.to be done to currently represented series (enough for me to want to make a huge. Video about it) but that also seems impossible to do at this point since we seem pretty dedicated on keeping stuff old games did

    Although Steve was a dream pick for me, he wasn't my number 1.
    I personally really wanted Marx as a playable character, and then when he turned out to be a boss instead I held out hope for Dimentio or an Undertale character

    I love this moveset very much and props for that, but I have a question, when rayman does his side special, ya show that his head get detached from the body. Is this the only move that detaches his head? Also what would happen if a limb he launched earlier reconnect with the body before his head? Would the headless body be a computer ai trying to regain his head?

    something i think would be a good idea is letting him grab a player when he has a hand or two available, and while he does he can walk around the stage or rotate to a better place, as a trade off you could just have him be the first character in smash that CANT throw grabbed players

    I really Love the idea of the limbs but I dont know if I like his neutral b being random, I like having control, I dont think that made him more o less chaotic and I didn't play Rayman but I tought that the hair helicopter will be more like extend of the jump instead of a Special, still, the important thing is he flows in the air a little bit at least. Otherwise, I love this moveset.
    The Rayman series seems great, and this video make want to try it, also a personal friend who highly recommend me Rayman.
    The character I wanted the most was Solid Snake, so I am glad he is back, e3 2018 was so many time ago and still I cant believe it. I am so happy is here. I remember crying of happyness, MGS1 and MGS2 (and MGS3, but is not a Solid Snake game, is a Big Boss one) are really close to my heart, so being that games referenced in smash is so special to me that make me satisfied.
    Another that him, I am really happy with Sora, Sephiroth and even Kazuya (I didnt expect this characters will never happen) and Steve is one I always really like the idea of him in Smash.
    But talking about characters that are not in the game, I will Love Dante, his personality and crazyness will be amazing.
    I love 2B more as a character but I dont think she will bring a appealing moveset as Dante, but I want the NieR series in Smash and specially the music, Nier remixes will be the peak of music in videogames.
    Also, more MGS. I think that MGS content is in Smash is Good or Amazing but at the same time I feel is really really overlook by the Smash Fandom because the MGS games being either absent or having bad ports or bad remakes in Nintendo Consoles.
    Big Boss, Raiden (with his MGS2 constume and references so he can match alongside Snake) and the Idea of Pyyr of Ocelot I will love it, any of them.

    So, one thing bugs the hell out of me regarding this moveset: if Magic Fist only deals damage while charged, and its main function is rocketting Rayman's limbs back to him, what would it do uncharged if copied by Kirby? Or would he have to charge the move for it to have any functionality?
    As for dream characters, I got a few. I've made more movesets than I care to admit, but currently lack visual resources needed to make videos for them. But I can rattle off my top picks and some ideas.
    - Crono would he fun, but I have no clue how to impliment Dual Techs without it either being nonexistant in 1v1 or having him a partial summoner.
    - Andy, because I love advance wars and am super happy its getting a remake. I have a moveset for that already on this channel, though its on one of the cursed old vids lol.
    - Viewtiful Joe, though I have absolutely no idea how they would impliment VFX in a way thats both fun to play against and recognizeable.
    - A Final Fantasy character that originated on a Nintendo console. Terra being a good pick because she'd easily show off the magic of the franchise, while Bartz or Onion Knight/Luneth could showcase the job system by having different moves "grow" over a match. Though ultimately I'd prefer a non game specific character like a Chocobo, Moogle, or Black Mage.
    - Literally any indie representation. Come on, guys. Did you forget your Nindies initiative already, or something? Top pick would be Shantae or Reimu though.
    - Sukapon, which is a cool robot dude from the jp only Joy Mech Fight, who could even function as a semiclone to your Rayman idea due to that game's own use of limbless robot designs. Shame he's stuck as an assist trophy.

      Having it just be the charged move sounds like an easy workaround there, but a funnier way of doing it would be for Kirby to just spit out a limb as if it had already been hit by a magic fist. I really like the mental image of Kirby spitting out random Rayman limbs at his opponents

    I had a similar idea for a resource character with Atari's Centipede, with the focus on trading size and power for speed and evasion.
