It’s unbelievable how the Chinese can make this car starting at $89K. I feel like being rip off buying MB or BMW with zero comfort and tech package for almost $100K.
Mercedes & BMW pray that luxury car buyers only buy on memories of past glory days. Today, technology + design + exciting user-experience are what luxury car buyers look for. History is littered with dead "luxury" brands that failed to keep up.
Yes please! If the suspension is as good as I'm hoping... And if the right hand drive conversation is as easy as the video suggests... Then it would be worth it and feasible for Nio... I think these will fly off the shelves in every market but Australia is a decent candidate with our bumpy roads despite our rubbish charging infrastructure... Nio's battery swap system would actually work quite well here too
@@josephcullen2512somehow, with all the bias towards Chinese vehicles we've got down under, I doubt a Chinese car north of 100k will fly off the shelves
Awesome dynamic/static video of the active suspension. Your demonstration gives a good idea what the ride will be like. There's one more EV on the market that - at least in theory - could do this 'smooting out of potholes and speed bumps', an that this the facelifted Taycan, when opted out with the active suspension. Of course, Porsche does not have the luxury element in mind, but the sporty one. Still, would be interesting to see how it compares to the ET9. By the way, do you plan to review the facelifted Taycan?
The specs are fire no cap-advanced tech, ultimate comfort, and a minimalist interior that redefines luxury. But the exterior? It just doesn’t stand out enough, especially compared to competitors or even its own lower trims. It’s giving Volkswagen Phaeton vibes: incredible specs and luxury, but an understated exterior that risks being overlooked. For a car this ambitious, it needs to wow on every level. I hope I'm wrong!
This car is in an entirely new dimension when it comes to innovation and luxury, but because it doesn't have a shitty German brand or Rolls Royce logo, it doesn't receive as much recognition. Honestly, mind blown by this car.
What a car! I'd take this over any euro flagship. The suspension is nice but how does this compare to the byd U9 one? Byds still seems more advanced and can drive on three wheels.
Nope, the Porsche suspensión is good but a toy in comparison. This a robotized suspension by clearmotion, it applies to bumps the same pylosophy as "sound dampening" on a high end music headset. This suspension is better than the mayback that was considered the BEST in the world.
@christianh7378 yeah 👍🏻 But what I meant was that Denza Z9 GT not only has the rear steering but it can also drive like a crab, lock one front wheel & make a "compass" turn. Hopefully ET9 has all those bells and whistles.
I think Nio should not ignore the right hand drive countries which can contribute to their sales volume The right hand drive countries will easily make up 50% of sales
Suspension developed by Bose? Yeah, that sounds very compelling. None of the ideas is new per se, but there is a huge hurdle between taking a concept/prototype to a commercially viable implementation. People who are fixated on "so and so came up with the idea first" clearly never been involved in productizing anything real, or just want to pontificate on that they know some trivia that no one cares about.
Drivers don't buy these cars so it literally makes no difference by the purchaser 😂 boss ain't gonna be concerned about what kind of steering their chauffeur likes
The new Porsche Panamera does the same and is available as an executive version with an extended wheelbase. The Porsche Panamera is not available as a fully electric version though
Nio making some beautiful EV but American public will never able to drive it because the US government are keen on making us pay more for shoddy products
Prior to entering the NIO ET9, I thought the ET9 was just some normal near-luxury sedan. Even with the facelift, something about the proportions and overall modest look of the vehicle does not look like a flagship from the outside. It doesn't look big enough, imposing enough nor flamboyant enough. I'm not saying it doesn't look good. I'm just saying I'd be hard-pressed to tell if this or the Xiaomi SU7 was a more luxurious car, at a glance.
Soon you'll have one two choices. Tesla or Chinese. Everyone else gonna be bankrupt or asking Chinese to build them and slap a domestic sticker on top. Just like all your appliances 😂
The beginning section with suspension simulation was not interesting to me at all. If it is good, let people test it on road. This whole fake simulation is not convincing.
Ain't nobody outside of China is going to buy a Chinese luxury car no matter how good the tech is. Luxury buyers care about pedigree, legacy and name recognition. And Mercedes Benz literally invented the car. China should focus on cheaper and mid-level cars going abroad.
I love Nio designs...
It's beautifully done.

Unbelievable, look at this and the crap that comes from BMW or Mercedes. China setting the new standards. Love this design.
