its natural for people to have different opinions, even in these comments there are people that firmly believe she is guilty while others firmly believe she's not guilty. it takes time to go through everything and agree on a single opinion
If the Commonwealth is trying to say that Karen reads voicemails are supposed to be some kind of cover-up or alibi , I truly don't believe that she would be saying I hate you, loser, pervert .. if she knew what she had done... Usually something like that would sober a person up quick fast!!
I can't see how anyone could find her guilty without any doubts. Just can't see that at all. However Im wondering what John O'Keefe's family thinks? They deserve the truth. I hope they will get it.
Unbelievable gall that the McAlbert clan was there today-either intimidation (they could have “got hold” of a juror🤷🏻♀️)- or just plain stupidity. O’Keefe family may feel they have no choice but to rally with them- small town and all… or they’ve been bamboozled by the fabrications as well. JMHO
Bc so many people have pointed out the McAlberts being there today and how it doesn’t help the situation, it makes me wonder if it is an intimidation factor to be sitting across from the jury. Like, do you want to find her not guilty, you’ll have to contend with us if she rides?? Idk, just a thought.
Found it interesting that throughout the trial, 12:45 am was the time John was hit by car. BUT, on Lally's timeline, it shows 12:30 am, which would give Karen time to hit him and still get back to his place to show her connecting to his modem!!!!
Remember all of Jen's testimony about seeing Karen outside of the house after 12:30 is plain perjury. The texts, the "checking" all of it is perjury the prosecution didn't address.
How did Officer John O'keefe sustain those injuries? I really tried hard to understand the way he may have been hit and how he only had the arm and head injuries... Those arm injuries were bizarre... The CW didn't show me how that could happen. It just wasn't logical.
When watching the video of him at I believe the waterfall just prior to walking out he picked up a tall cocktail glass and drank what was in it. I wonder if it was Karen’s drink and how many of her drinks he could have helped drink.
Peter, just a friendly clarification (I love your show). A speaker can NOT infer something. A speaker implies something happens, and the listener INFERS what happened based on what the speaker IMPLIED. (I’m the daughter of an English teacher, turned attorney 😅)
Karen called John 53 times?! Did they establish if his phone was on silent mode/loud etc.? I find it hard to believe no one heard his phone ringing in his pocket on the front lawn.. She called 53 times! That's almost 30 minutes on constant ringing
I can’t with him actually being up in closing that she left her shoes on walking in the garage! And this is somehow saying she’s guilty of murdering him. If this isn’t grasping at straws, I’m Not sure what is. Absolutely absurd.
Thank you who said you were in that courtroom 2022 & said you voted for Foreman. Given last 3 removals & how they looked/felt during testimony, and who chose all that, your information means a lot to me.
So if John was hit on the inside of his right arm, in the fashion that the CW described, wouldn’t he have had to be hit with the drivers side of the suv?
Chad Doerman’s confession got thrown out because of Miranda. Lally thinks ”I hit him”*4 proves KR’s guilt. One person claims to have heard her say it, the others had some variations. Lally, honey, stop.
They didn’t move the body because that’s when you get caught and I believe they were originally going to blame the death on lucky the disabled plow driver. Hmm .. When I was 11 I've been hit by a backing up car that was doing it at a speed between 10 and 13 m/h. i had my winter coat, and a dog that was pushing me forward on the leash I had no broken bones, no tail light was broken and I had no bruises, but I hit the road hard and lost consciousness for few minutes. I was hit very similar way as CW is saying she hit him, so I believe in a POSSIBILITY of that happening, but they certainly didn't show me it happened in this case.
PETER the magic hair transferred from the cups to the car in the sally port and the tow truck driver took pictures of the car the instant he delivered it... see him slip then take a pic so where are those pictures ????
I'm super late, but I've been rewatching Runkle's, Andrea's and EDB's coverage. One thing that also made me doubt the CW's case and nobody has mentioned - that I've seen - is Lally's bad nervous habit of clearing his throat. Every. Single. Time he does it before an important question or argument makes me think whatever's coming next is bullshit, because he's sooo not confident. He should work on that.. Or prosecute legit cases to begin with.
I spent 15 years going the my hole in the wall bar almost nightly. You’d be surprised at the tolerance people can develop. Everybody agreed she seemed fine. Plus she likes to treat people. She could have been buying drinks for others. Regardless the evidence proves she couldn’t have done it. Impossible.
There were two shots and a beer on the receipt. They may have been giving her shot glasses of soda water to freshen her drink. But you could not see what was happening with the camera behind the backs of patrons. Bars have cameras that face the bar for insurance purposes. Why didn't they use those?
The comment itself is emotional. None of us has any idea what's going on or how they are approaching deliberations. Imo, several adults in a room discussing a complex case deserve at least a day before folks begin speculation. Yikes.
I do agree, the defendants’s case would have been even better represented if “ beyond a reasonable doubt “ would have played a larger part of the closing argument.
Hey Peter, love your channel. However I would like to know if all these groups knew about the murder and the cover up how do explain that not one them ever told anyone else about the murder.people gossip
I listened to the entire trial, and unless I missed it not one expert spoke about the blood that ran down the entirety of John’s clothes. He would have had to been erect for at least a small period of time for that blood to drip down before he landed/was placed in the yard. And to add: John supposedly gets hit by a 7000lb vehicle at 24MPH and not one bruise? I run into my bedpost at 0.05MPH and get a golf ball size bruise.
I think it's interesting that it was avoided except to say the blood on his clothes showed DNA consistent with the victim and two unknown contributors. I'm pretty sure that's what I heard so what's up with that?
I was wondering this too! Also, he had multiple directional small puncture holes in his shirt ??? What in the world could have caused that besides canine teeth.
When I seen Brian Albert sitting in the audience, I was completely disgusted... this man nor any of his family members didn't care enough about John to go outside and check on him when he was lying frozen in his front yard.. But for some reason, they care enough now to sit in the audience for closing arguments. Are you kidding me!?
In recent trials, I haven't heard a defense attorney give a closing as well as AJ did today. His delivery was precise & to the point. He never lost his train of thought. Great closing.
A case like this where there's so many avenues of reasonable doubt is incredibly rare, most prosecutors wouldn't have brought this case to trial. Jackson did a good job, but he was incredibly fortunate to have very good facts in his client's favor. It's easy to argue great facts, and Lally showed us how embarrassing it can be when your side has bad facts. I'm sure Lally has delivered masterful closing arguments in cases where the defendants were actually guilty. The biggest thing that Jackson has on his side is that his client is innocent.
If you look at their Zillow ad when they sold the house it showed the original gym flooring and weight room. This is unsubstantiated rumor, never presented at trial.
@@ValeskaTruaxit doesn’t really matter to me because I only care about what came out in trial. However how do you know the floor was in fact “original?”
The 2 things that really made me think Karen Read is innocent - 1. The video showing her pulling away from John’s house at around 5am and the right tail light being 90% red verses the pictures of the car by the time the police got ahold of it later where the “red” was completely gone. 2. The very first search of the yard near John’s body around 6:30am and they found ZERO pieces of tail light, before the blizzard really started to hit. Even a “casual” search that morning should have turned up at least one or two pieces of that tail light.
agree, plus Jen "butt dialling" John 9 or so times (as Jackson points out looking for his phone) was huge for me, as well as mutual butt dials between Higgens and Brian Albert. No way to rationally believe all these Butt dials in this short and crucial time period. Way too big a coincidence for me. (and of course FBI retained experts sealed the deal)

It takes a while. They need to eat, possibly take a “first vote” to see where everyone is, and then deliberate, etc. They have 3 counts to consider.
You gotta imagine they want to sit there and go WTF was that?
I'm hoping they just want to come back tomorrow to put their fancy suits on ready for interviews
"On Wednesdays we wear pink. " maybe that's why the jury didn't come to a verdict today!
its natural for people to have different opinions, even in these comments there are people that firmly believe she is guilty while others firmly believe she's not guilty. it takes time to go through everything and agree on a single opinion
If the Commonwealth is trying to say that Karen reads voicemails are supposed to be some kind of cover-up or alibi , I truly don't believe that she would be saying I hate you, loser, pervert .. if she knew what she had done... Usually something like that would sober a person up quick fast!!
AJ is amazing! By far the absolutely the best closing I have EVER seen!!
Alan Jackson does not disappoint
I dont see how anyone prove she hit him with her car and not leave marks on the lower parts of his body. Thanks for bringing of this case.
It is rare the a defence leaves out good facts from closing. And for the prosecution to down time on useless or repetitive facts.
I can't see how anyone could find her guilty without any doubts. Just can't see that at all. However Im wondering what John O'Keefe's family thinks? They deserve the truth. I hope they will get it.
You know what they think by looking at who was sat with them today
Unbelievable gall that the McAlbert clan was there today-either intimidation (they could have “got hold” of a juror🤷🏻♀️)- or just plain stupidity. O’Keefe family may feel they have no choice but to rally with them- small town and all… or they’ve been bamboozled by the fabrications as well. JMHO
Jen McCabe " bestied" O'Keefe family. The dad did not buy it!
They know she did it. And just like after the OJ case, when all the mass hysteria dies down, people will realise how they have been duped
That’s who my heart goes out to. JO’s family may not ever get closure as to what really happened that night. Sad.
BUT, on Lally's timeline, it shows 12:30 am, which would give Karen time to hit him and still get back to his place to show her connecting to his modem!!!!
as facts came out, the Prosecution times changed. Such a joke
Hopefully the Jury realizes this
Remember all of Jen's testimony about seeing Karen outside of the house after 12:30 is plain perjury.
I have a crush on Jackson
I'm sure you're not alone.
lol…me too❤️
Yannetti too!! There is something very attractive about these men so powerfully and confidently defending their client!! 😍
Jackson's voice is so passionate though..
Rambling Lally even during his closing arguments
I think they dumped him and planned on blaming a snow plow
Peter, just a friendly clarification (I love your show). A speaker can NOT infer something. A speaker implies something happens, and the listener INFERS what happened based on what the speaker IMPLIED. (I’m the daughter of an English teacher, turned attorney 😅)
HA HA! Just heard the shoes thing! She didn't take off her shoes cuz she was PISSED! Duh!
Lally looks like a defeated puppy. He’s gotta be humiliated.
I mean, right!!!!!
Man I hope so. But not defeated enough yet.
I could barely listen to him, so boring!
@@larissawhitney7837same. It was painful
And so he should be!! I kinda felt bad for him but he KNOWS he's defending crooked Cops....evil.
If this isn’t grasping at straws, I’m
Not sure what is. Absolutely absurd.
I vote to never watch another case with LAlly
We come here FOR your honest viewpoints!
Verdict tomorrow
Aaahahahaha Peter “aaawww I have to do math” 1:04:37 😂😂
Quite literally made me stop what I was doing and laugh…then came cotton eye joe. 🤯🤣🤣
Defense should've objected when Lally changed the story and misrepresented the evidence in closing.
I noticed that too but I think it isn’t worth objecting too. People are seeing right through their narrative.
Thank you who said you were in that courtroom 2022 & said you voted for Foreman. Given last 3 removals & how they looked/felt during testimony, and who chose all that, your information means a lot to me.
Lally needs to take a leaf out of Jackson’s book “ Hos to do Believable Closing “
So if John was hit on the inside of his right arm, in the fashion that the CW described, wouldn’t he have had to be hit with the drivers side of the suv?
Cw said John's phone has no activity after 1230, but aj says it takes 30 steps at 1232? That's also not on cw timeline.
When cw rested, i was already 100% on the side of reasonable doubt. After defense rested, I'm 100% on innocent.
I think that why Higgins plow was there we don’t have any documentation of the scene but I bet they created “ plow marks “ that’s why the body wasn’t there when lucky got there they were waiting for Lucky to pass
Yep! Too many cameras. I thought that about Higgin plow in the beginning but after watching the k9 trainer on Melanie Little, plus online dog bite pics, plus experts. I thing is for sure a dog.
Atty Jackson, I will give him a 10
Jackson 10 Lally 1
Which 1?
It makes me so mad that Lally keeps saying that they never said that JO’s arm wasn’t out from his side. Yes, Tp. Paul 100% said exactly that. They just continually lie!
Same. I realize it probably sounds like hyperbole to say that the commonwealth is lying all the time, but... daaaamn.
But she didn't hit him Peter?
The experts have said that his injuries are NOT from a vehicle impact?
Lally was awful from jump. Pretty discouraging that MA doesn’t care about the truth.
Yes, I agree. Personally, I think he had a very difficult job after how bad the investigation was.
@@patriciarigmond4938 absolutely, but if your case is built on innuendo and no facts, you find a new job. Honestly, he had to know, at some point, that his case was crap.
@Lecreicgirl343 yes. Sorry I live in Scotland and I don't know much about the law from state to state. Forgive my ignorance, I just took it that state attorneys didn't really have a choice. Just observing from a juror pov but yes, you're right. He even gives a deflated impression.
@@patriciarigmond4938 there are no ignorant questions! Happy to answer anything I can. As far as Lally, he is a MA state prosecutor, but that does not mean he can’t refuse a case. The prosecutor should be looking for truth, not going along with an absurd theory (whatever that actually was). They never proved how JO was killed really. They just came up with a theory based on what bad cops gave them. Any rookie would’ve know this was garbage.
@Lecreicgirl343 ah. I see. Thanks for filling me in. Hopefully there will be a verdict in the next couple days. I'm 5 hours ahead of you guys and up at 5.45am for work. 😫
Agree with the ratings on the closings. I couldn’t believe Lally ran out of time. It looked so bad. It just was not a way to honor the O’Keefe family and John O’Keefe if he truly believes that she’s guilty. Did he not prep for it?
Replay crew here- Massachusetts says the commonwealth because they are a Commonwealth not a state.
I was waiting for your recap on closing. I appreciate your views on this, whether I agree with you or not. Thank you
Trooper Paul testified to all of that! He said spun around and threw 30 feet. Jackson used pirouette. Besides that one word it’s word for word.
Did MMA fighting/training ever come out? or wasn't it allowed in?
Praying for her
I was thinking Jason Bateman to play Jackson
Alan Jackson rocks my world❤️❤️ awesome awesome awesome
Unbelievable that judge stopped Lally before last sentence! He never built momentum from minute one till minute last😂
Maybe okeefs arm went inside and played with the fentanyl finding devil puppy. Meanwhile John was outside playing one armed chicken with Karen’s SUV
1:40:58 because he is a cop and knows putting a body in your car leaves DNA
Anna Kendrick as Karen Read. Richard Kind as Lally. Jason Bateman as Alan Jackson. David Strathairn as David Yannetti.
Jamie Lee Curtis as Bev.
And Rhonda Rousey gets to play Colin Albert? 🤞
KO bang bang!
I know this is over, but did any of the experts ever speak to why John had no frostbite? Does a deceased body get frostbite?
Jackson leaves no meat on the bone. NICE!!!
1:37:39 How the H3LL would a hair stay when all the ice is melting and dripping off the vehicle. So stupid!
PETER the magic hair transferred from the cups to the car in the sally port and the tow truck driver took pictures of the car the instant he delivered it... see him slip then take a pic so where are those pictures ????
Some of the cops involved in this case were involved in the burchmore case
I'm super late, but I've been rewatching Runkle's, Andrea's and EDB's coverage. One thing that also made me doubt the CW's case and nobody has mentioned - that I've seen - is Lally's bad nervous habit of clearing his throat. Every. Single. Time he does it before an important question or argument makes me think whatever's coming next is bullshit, because he's sooo not confident. He should work on that.. Or prosecute legit cases to begin with.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall in the jury room!!!
Me too…..I’d pay to be that fly🤣
I hope some do interviews afterwards.
Wonder if the Jury will take note of Lallys lies, bc that would honestly insult me
No way she would be standing after 9 drinks
I spent 15 years going the my hole in the wall bar almost nightly. You’d be surprised at the tolerance people can develop. Everybody agreed she seemed fine. Plus she likes to treat people. She could have been buying drinks for others. Regardless the evidence proves she couldn’t have done it. Impossible.
AJ did a amazin job FREE KR
There were two shots and a beer on the receipt. They may have been giving her shot glasses of soda water to freshen her drink. But you could not see what was happening with the camera behind the backs of patrons. Bars have cameras that face the bar for insurance purposes. Why didn't they use those?
HOwever, the jury is emotional not logical or they'd be back already not guilty. Where was the blood from a head wound? That is what got me.
Or they are actually deliberating and methodically going through the evidence. Seems logical.
The comment itself is emotional. None of us has any idea what's going on or how they are approaching deliberations.
Imo, several adults in a room discussing a complex case deserve at least a day before folks begin speculation.
Yikes.
Please comment on the Sarah Birchmore case.
Why were closing arguments limited to 1hr? In Daybell there was no cap. Is a time limit more common?
Omg I’m ctfu bc I said “where did you come from cotton eye joe” at the same time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I do agree, the defendants’s case would have been even better represented if “ beyond a reasonable doubt “ would have played a larger part of the closing argument.
John's death is missing from the timeline.
“Oh I have to do math” 😂😅
Hey Peter, love your channel. However I would like to know if all these groups knew about the murder and the cover up how do explain that not one them ever told anyone else about the murder.people gossip
text mess up sorry
I listened to the entire trial, and unless I missed it not one expert spoke about the blood that ran down the entirety of John’s clothes. He would have had to been erect for at least a small period of time for that blood to drip down before he landed/was placed in the yard.
And to add: John supposedly gets hit by a 7000lb vehicle at 24MPH and not one bruise? I run into my bedpost at 0.05MPH and get a golf ball size bruise.
Absolutely
I think it's interesting that it was avoided except to say the blood on his clothes showed DNA consistent with the victim and two unknown contributors. I'm pretty sure that's what I heard so what's up with that?
I was wondering this too! Also, he had multiple directional small puncture holes in his shirt ??? What in the world could have caused that besides canine teeth.
A blood pattern expert would have been interesting but perhaps the blood stains were to altered from the snow
@@Lorgy2 very true
When I seen Brian Albert sitting in the audience, I was completely disgusted... this man nor any of his family members didn't care enough about John to go outside and check on him when he was lying frozen in his front yard.. But for some reason, they care enough now to sit in the audience for closing arguments. Are you kidding me!?
They didn’t go to the funeral either!
I was SHOCKED at how Disgusting it was seeing Brian & Chris Albert & Jen McCabe sitting in that row with the OKeefe Family !
It gave me the Creeps!
@@leslievasquez2645 you took the words out of my mouth!
@leslievasquez2645 that's heartless!
@@leslievasquez2645 oh my gosh that speaks volumes. Shame on them.
In recent trials, I haven't heard a defense attorney give a closing as well as AJ did today.
His delivery was precise & to the point. He never lost his train of thought.
Great closing.
Agree!!!
We would've had a verdict today. They're far apart IMO.
Defence was pure theatre.
I only wish he had more time. Just an extra 30 minutes would have been nice. 1 hour seems too short for 30 days of evidence and witnesses.
Wearing shoes inside is the weakest argument for murder 😂😂😂
if she had removed them jen/lally would have reported that she was so unconcerned whether john was there that she took the time to remove her shoes
When I heard Lally bring that up I couldn’t believe it
IKR, I burst out laughing
Yup, it was laughable!
That one made me laugh out loud when I heard it. Sadly, it's not a laughing matter.
The floor was pulled up and replaced in the Albert's basement shortly after John's death. Thought was important to note.
@@Diddys.Jet-LubeForceOne-Pilot well the floor looks old. Check it out for yourself.
@@ValeskaTruax I think Nicole Albert confirmed it during her testimony. She said that it was because a toilet leaked.
Me too
The 2 things that really made me think Karen Read is innocent - 1.
Yes, and there were a few other things for me as well……..then the FBI hired experts absolutely sealed the deal for me!!!!
Brian Albert testified. He made sure he said John never came in the home (he wasn’t asked if) and then he wouldn’t answer any questions. Basically everything was I don’t know or no
Can you imagine what would’ve happened had she got out of her car and went in to find him; I wonder if we would be looking at 2 murders
IKR, thought the same thing! The Alberts are dangerous and feared in Canton, Mass
Im sure Karen has thought about it for days.
And that was why Jen McCabe was a jack n the box looking at KR’s vehicle outside. Making sure she didn’t come in.
I bet AJ HAS a daughter, that’s why he says pirouette.
His little girl must be taking ballet lessons.
@@fitflik4784yes, I couldn’t figure out the fascination with John. Why was she calling and texting him and looking out the window. It was such bizarre testimony. Now it makes sense. She “butt dialed “ his number in order to find it inside the house.

But it's the greatest responsibility we have as citizens here in America. Lest the government stop answering to us, and we start answering to the government. Bloody beautiful
It was AJ who kept saying ‘pirouette’. TP corrected saying ‘spun’. Point is, the word doesn’t matter. 30 feet in the air. Didn’t happen.
I thought it was a little crazy to say pirouette but every time AJ said it, it reminded me regardless of the word used, how ridiculous trooper Paul’s theory sounded.
Judges need to do their job!
Now it feels like AJ said it like that so the jury would remember this point. It's a very important part of the cross examination and if that's what he meant to do, it worked for me at least. I remembered this very clearly. Hopefully the jury will remember it this way too!
@@kruzzta6030 He said spun in my braid I heard 360 . Trooper Paul is anythging but an expert
Kleenex or Tissue, Pop or Soda, Pirouette or Spin. Same thing, a Pirouette is a spin.
