I believe the only reason the jury is struggling is due to the fact that the judge seems to have gone out of her way to make the jury confused not with the facts or evidence but the jury instructions and convoluted charges. I 100% blame the judge

It's obvious one or more of the jury is working with the Alberts. There needs to be better protection for the juries infact the jurors should be a mirrored glass like a police station so no one in the court room can know their identies... So that our justice system can do a fair trial. It's so easy to identify a jury in the court room if you have seen their faces. The Albert clan research and persuaded the jurors..... This is BS our justice system needs to disguised our jury

I was on a jury once (armed robbery) many years ago. I was able to help jurors come to a non-guilty verdict by explaining what reasonable doubt is (the suspect had a brother who resembled him. And no video footage or any evidence other than the victims testimony). It is very interesting and important to serve on a jury and hope you all get to experience it once in your life.
I feel Karen Read is completely innocent as it was proven no injuries were caused by a vehicle.

If they do not let this jury be hung, then Canoni should pay for any additional cost out of her own salary, which she has earned with diligence, but not with competence. @@NewEngland721 are you talking about the defense or jury deliberations??? If they were listening to this super confusing case that CW put forward not knowing anything beforehand…..which seems so strange to me as I’m in Australia and even I heard about it …before the trial. CW they put on so many crappy experts IMO, Defense only had a 3-4 days but they proved without a doubt in that short time there was no way KR hit him, let alone killed him, than CW with soooooo many witnesses that gave conflicting and very suspicious testimony, let alone the crappy LE investigation to prove her guilty. The defense proved it in no time after all the rambling of CW.
That judge “Bev” was a nightmare constantly sighing, she clearly didn’t want to be there.
I am dumbfounded how any sane logical person can call her guilty. Someone is feeling threatened or is siding with the cops/Alberts/McCabes holding out saying guilty.
A lot of jurors make up their minds by the end of the trial before deliberations….well at least have a very good idea of where they stand on G/NG. I say that after hearing numerous jurors on different trial, some on even more complex cases and much longer cases than this. They came back with a verdict very quickly. I think the instructions probably confused them to start with, but from what we hear one person holding out, probably saying guilty …….mmmm I truly don’t comprehend how anyone can if they listened to this trial. …..

Once the Feds came in and conducted their own investigation and got the results of the reconstruction tests and such, I don’t understand how they were even allowed to move forward with taking this case to trial. The federal investigation lead to findings showing it is impossible that John was struck by Karen’s car - case over!!! I don’t understand how ANYONE can hear the evidence that was presented and conclude that she’s guilty. UNLESS - someone on the jury is ‘friendly’ with the McAlberts and is refusing to acquit her. I said that once jury selection began. How can the attorneys really truly KNOW for certain that the potential jurors are being 100% honest when answering questions about whether or not they know the any of the McCabe’s or Albert’s or any of the pertinent witnesses???? How can they ever really KNOW!?!? Just like Proctor when he was asked, under oath, at the state grand jury - being a sworn officer - whether or he KNEW or had a RELATIONSHIP with anyone of the McCabe’s or any of the Albert’s. He got up there and lied to everyone in that courtroom!! Who’s to say one of these jurors didn’t do the exact same thing???

I spent 24 years in a squad car; went to college for a second career and got my degree as a Legal Assistant; interned with a District Court Judge as a paralegal law clerk so I have a lot of experience with lawyers and cops. I can't believe, after watching this trial from day one to day 32 that anyone on the jury can even think that Karen Read is guilty. There has to be a little old lady who says "A cop is dead and she has to pay!" and who refuses to hear common sense arguments. I think there could be some fear among the jurors because of the hatred that has held the town in it's tense debate over this death and that may well be the case here as well. I doubt that if they hang that the prosecution will go forward with another shot at KR.

I think what happens is sympathy for the family impacts the jury. They are seated directly across from the jury for 2 months and jury likely feeling great sympathy--as we all do. But they cannot feel it is wrong if they don't give the family what the family may perceive to be Justice. They need to keep telling themselves that a guilty verdict of a non guilty person is not justice. I hope that if there is a mistrial and then a retrial that the jurors are able to know about the federal investigation

Karen is guilty of at least all the lesser charges. Not murder, but all the others. She was there, she was arguing with John, she left him, she said she hit him, she was still drunk, there is DNA match with tail light and hair that only matched John and his biological mother. No 20-30 people from emt, firefighter, police, friends are all going to conspire for this one woman, someone would talk and if it was a man in a fight, they could have claimed self defense when John was injured. Just because people have personal feelings of the witnesses, does not mean they commited a crime. John is 6'3" 200 lbs and in good shape and intoxicated. Drunk people usually don't get injured in a MVA, the sober one does. There is no dog dna.

It doesn't really have any impact on this case. OJO didn't get his wounds there, so only the impact of the car or lack of is important to this case.

  • @sandtats

Well, at 3:45 jury asked to be able to deliberate until 4:15; judge said yes. Why such arbitrary time? Close? At 4:18 all back in court. No note/update from jury. Judge just told them you've been working hard. Go home and clear your heads and we'll see you Monday.
Per Turtle guy (in courtroom) juror #7, upper middle aged woman, seen leaving red face /eyes, looking as if she had been crying. Maybe the one holdout...for guilty lesser.

I was an alternate in a murder trial in California and I had to sit silently through all the deliberation till the jury made a decision. You couldn't say a word or look at anyone. It was painful as the trial was long, the deliberation was long, and then at the decision the other alternates and I got kicked to the curb, no longer sat with the jury.

I think a lot of tv media personality are getting impatient. Its been 20 hours and 53 minutes (3 full days of deliberations). I wonder if after 19 hours the jury started to panic cause they didnt want to work thru the 4th of July holiday. Given how much material they have to go thru, I would think its safe to predict we may not get a verdict till after the 4th of July.

It's funny to me having lived on the planet for more than a few minutes that anyone of any life experience would arrive at any absolutes. The truth seems somewhere near the middle, difficult as finding the middle might be in this case. Whatever the jurors arrive at, I'm very impressed that they taken this challenge seriously. It must be unbelievably difficult.

They do not want to be held reliable for the destructions or deaths that are going to take place. If she walks or is locked up, all hell is going to let go!!!!

They got rid of the dog, replaced the floor in room that it likely happened in, then they sold the house at a loss. And Jennifer McCabe has started a little club fire john’s mother.
