The number one song of all time...Led Zeppelin knows how to move someone with a song. By your reaction to this song I can see that if totally affects your soul. If anyone believes in music and that when words fail music speaks this song is speaking to your soul. You may not understand what it means completely but it moves you where nothing else can. .Dani you life will never be the same after listening to this song. It grabs you and doesn't let you go. Jimmy pages melodic guitar and Robert Plants soulful singing changes lives. If you ever have listened to this song you will never be the same again.
Dani, I am very impressed with your interpretation of this song's meaning. Most just think it's a "pretty song", but you actually listened/read and came up with a pretty concise opinion. Bravo young lady! Very impressive!! I would suggest you listen to "Babe, I'm going to leave you" (one of their first songs) or if you care to see the faces behind the music, "Since I've been lovin' you" live from MSG, 1973. Robert Plant hits a note around 8:20 into this link (th-cam.com/video/1gHlbHtdVLU/w-d-xo.html) that I still to this day cannot believe. Enjoy the Zep rabbit hole...it runs deep (pun intended)!
Uhmm Robert Plant said the lyrics seem to have different meanings from day to day. He said he was not quite sure of the meaning to the lyrics. But always remember your shadows taller than your soul. Stay away from the piper [pied] he's a socialist.
Hi Dani, In the 1970s, Led Zeppelin were considered the greatest hard rock band in the world. Their most iconic song is "Stairway To Heaven." Kids that grew up in the 1970s loved Led Zeppelin and, when hard rock radio stations did a fan voted survey of the greatest classic hard rock songs of all time, "Stairway To Heaven" was always voted #1. I'm glad you chose to do a reaction video to that song. Love your channel.
I'd say they actually came of age in the late 60's....I saw them in LA in 1969 just after getting home from VietNam. The power of their music and message was amazing. The talents of Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were incredible - you can imagine how mesmerizing their live performance was . I had heard of them in '68 because they were becoming so popular in the UK.
I've known for a while now that Dani's reactions to "older/classic" Rock songs are quite intelligent for a younger/not even alive when this was released/ so I was excited to see her reaction to the most ICONIC Rock song ever, OF COURSE SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! One of the best songs in rock history with great lyrics and an amazing guitar solo. Not a huge Led Zep fan but this is a masterpiece. I think your interpretation of the lyrics is impressive. Keep the videos coming.
Wonderful reaction and analysis of this classic song! Its recorded in stereo so having both earmuffs on is best listening experience, this song is pretty evenly balanced so you not missing much but if you do other Zep songs you could miss out
Hi Dani. I enjoyed your reaction/breakdown to this classic tune. I never really examined it the way you did and viewed it from that perspective, so thank you! :) I wanted to also mention that I really enjoyed your first Bee Gee's reaction and am looking forward to more of those as well. This was the anthem of my youth. I recommend that you listen to and watch the live version. It's hard to imagine, but the live version take this version and injects it into orbit. Jimmy Page's face during his solo tells it all.
With Robert Plant's lyrics, often each verse is it's own riddle, and don't necessarily add up together as one big meaning. This song doesn't have any overarching deep meaning, just a beautiful blend of voice and instrumentation. And a brilliant guitar solo.
This is quite simply the greatest rock & roll band ever. Nearly every other band wanted what they had. Each member is consistently rated in the top five performers. Guitarist Jimmy Page in usually in the top three & drummer John Bonham is often rated number one. Whenever asked, vocalist Robert Plant would often say that the listener should make up their own interpretation as to the meaning of Stairway. Check out the live version from their 1973 Madison Square Garden concert. Jimmy Page’s guitar solo is epic.

Elvis himself said once at a concert " we better behave we got the Led Zeppelin here tonight" And they were! They talked for an hour or more with Elvis backstage..when they were to leave Elvis turned and started singing "if you ever go,darling i'll be oh so lonley" from song Love Me ...Great days!
Very thoughtful about meanings in the song. The first verse i understand is about materialistic things which people think they can buy , but each verse has a different aspect of life's path and how it is always possible to change that route along the way. Another Excellent review.
Thanks for your insight and well worded comments. Nice to see this song still has impact after all this time. Wish you well and encourage a journey through history.
Always fascinating to see people's reaction to this classic. Here's my take...this song is about the pursuit of happiness and the clues are right there in the lyrics. When they say "there's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold and she's buying a stairway to heaven, I think the "lady" is figurative and just as it's foolish to think all that glitters is gold, it's foolish to think you can buy happiness. The "piper" they talk about is like society pushing you on saying you can have anything you want. If you want happiness, go out there and get it but it's an illusion because the more you strive to go after happiness, the more elusive it is. The lines that tie it all together for me are "Your stairway lies on the whispering wind", "if you listen very hard, the tune will come to you at last", "When all are one and one is all", "To be a rock and not to roll". These are saying that instead of seeking out your happiness, instead we should just be still (like a rock), listen, and find peace within ourselves. When we are truly at peace with ourselves and the World, we are more likely to find happiness.
Please do Free Bird by lynyrd skynyrd. The 1977 Live Concert in Oakland . This is the song that in many concerts you hear Free Bird shouted out. This is regarded as one song like Stair Way to Heaven that is legendary.
I found it charming that she was able to interpret the meaning of “Stairway “ so quickly. People have been interpreting this song since it’s introduction. Either she’s brilliant or has a lot to learn. She will find out! 👍
if the part from the guitar solo til the end doesn't get your blood flowing? there's something seriously wrong with you. the best last 3 mins of a song ever.
@@DaniAtkinson I really enjoyed your reaction video more than most for sure! I would love to hear your thoughts. I was just listening to this th-cam.com/video/-enIN21BWWI/w-d-xo.html a 1975 gem! from Murray Head. Last one I send ! I don't want to pester you !
I was 14 when this album came out and had to have it. I was listening to this song on our home record player and my step-mom came in to check it out and started reading the words on the album cover and said it was philosophy. It most definitely is and you nailed the understanding of it Dani. One of the greatest rock songs of all. The best live performance is from their 1976 concert film called “The song remains the same”. Jimmy page the guitarist plays a double neck and uses all 18 strings.
This is definitely considered their greatest song, as it should be, but the one that always gets to me is Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You. I'd heard it many times before, but the first time I actually sat transfixed listening to it was while I was at work waiting for the bell that ends my shift, and when the bell did ring, I couldn't turn the radio off until the song ended.
I love watching the next generation getting into the music that I listened to in my youth. This song was recorded in 1971, which is going to be 50 years old very soon. Hard to believe for me. Thank you for reacting. The full stereo effect is not on your video, but I'm not sure what you're listening to whether or not you're getting the full stereo effect of the song. That's the fun about older music is they did a lot of experimenting with recording. The Beatles producers were notorious for putting the instruments and vocals on different audio channels and having it come out like that on your speakers. Headphones it would even be more noticeable.
Dani, They did a concert at Madison Square Garden In 73. If you want to see the greatest guitar solo ever then watch the Stairway To Heaven concert video.
You need to listen to the live version from Madison square garden 1973 and as a Matt of fact watch song remains the same it’s a movie about the 1973 concert it’ll blow your mind
This to me is still the greatest "solo" (quotation marks because, despite the guitar leading, the drums and bass just work perfectly around it showcasing incredible technique, while at the same time, buying space for the guitar to shine even more) ever recorded in Rock n' Roll History!
I just got one of your videos as a suggestion today, because of my recent attraction to reaction videos. I will often check out one or two, while looking at the video archive for the other songs reacted to. I also make sure new videos are still coming and factor in stuff like frequency and variety before subscribing or not. First, was surprised to see the videos start over a decade ago, so kudos for longevity. Secondly, I was super impressed with YOUR voice, subsequently saddened to see the need for vocal chords surgery, then elated to see you made a full recovery and it did not affect your singing voice. Third, you are very easy on the eyes, I'm sure it gets old though having random dudes on the internet tell you pretty/beautiful/sexy you are especially since that's not the point of these videos. Finally, maybe because I'm new to reaction videos, I've not seen any other comparison/reaction videos before, so that definitely got you some love. I am curious, unless I missed something, there is only one video of you singing after the surgery videos, so are they somewhere else? I understand that you may be busy, and heck, you may not even bother reading this comment, but the whole point is that you stood out, and it's not so easy to get on my rotation as I have several reactors I already enjoy, and so I want you to know good job! Look forward to future reactions from you, but also more videos of you singing. Unless I'm just completely behind and you have music for sale somewhere in not aware of, then of course point me in the direction and I will.
Hi Kenny!! Thank you so much for your very thoughtful comment!! Persistency is key, as well as innovation! Thank you for taking the time to really explore my channel and get to know me better. I have been singing my entire life, finding out that I needed vocal cord surgery was some of the toughest days/weeks and moments I’ve ever gone through. Thankfully, I got through it successfully and I’m feeling better than ever. I have released one song since recovery and then began doing reaction videos...now that my channel audience is growing, I am going to be releasing a lot more music and merchandise and I am SO excited to do so. You can also find music of mine on Apple Music, Spotify, all streaming services! Once again, thank you so much! I read all of my comments, and you all mean a great deal to me!
@@DaniAtkinson wow, I am even more impressed that you actually do read the comments. That must be why you haven't hit superstardom yet, too nice of a person😉. I will be rooting for you no matter what you choose to do, and should you ever need any help along the way, I would do my best. ✌️
More than just the music on these reaction videos, it is so nice to see young people listening to rock stroke progressive stroke sixties and seventies music. We lived through this period of the mid sixties to late seventies. I never thought at the time that so many of today's young people would be getting as much joy out of what we considered normal at the time. Because it was a part of our life, it became a part of our life and in a way I think we are passing on a bit of ourselves to the younger generation. Kind of like takes away the old cliche "You old git". It brings us together. I also wish you the best in your endeavors.
Now we're talking I came up in the 60s so I love classic rock, Southern rock and folk rock after the late 70s early 80s this music pretty much died so I started listening to country music but good reaction video
Very poetic lyrics. "In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke thru the trees, and the voices of those who stand looking." "And a new day will dawn for those who stand long, and the forests will echo with laughter."
have a listen to gary moore and phil lynott live,, parisienne walkways, stunning guitar solo and brilliant bass guitar as well as an awesome voice, one of the most moving songs ever made
What was your reaction to the music? Its progression? The power or the solo? The entry of the drums-the whole song changes when the drums come in. Light and shade-the core of the music of Led Zeppelin. I loved your lyric interpretation. Lyricist Robert Plant said that the words are deliberately abstract. We each bring our own understanding to them.
If you have a quiet afternoon and a little wine to enjoy this instrumental will ease you - it is by Santana and it’s called “Samba Pa Ti” pronounced “tea” lovely easy instrumental!
Think you explained the song quite well. It's a song I heard a lot on radio / record album as was a teen back then. Lots of grass/pot/weed / and hash / and chemical drugs back then....and think about 40-45 % of teens young adults were into the culture / free love ... People on drugs and the " if it feels good do it" times...had those thoughts of "what is truth?" Some got into eastern yoga guru ...some into occultic... The music is seducing in this song. The words /meaning kinda like hidden clues/crossword puzzle... Thru it all (ya) guess we are on life's paths... Buying the stairway to heaven ...gives me the idea that $ can buy you a "drug" and once stoned ya feel your on the stairway to heaven ? Maybe. Guess I put up a guard on my mind on this type of rock songs as it kinda feels hypnotic. Ha! Guess that's why I like Elvis songs as it leaves me in a happy mood. Mind you in those teen years the Rolling Stones songs were played a lot when drinking 8-9-12 beers. But never liked sympathy for the devil or paint it black. Too demonic for me. Funny part is back then in all that crazy times had my conversion ( one to one encounter with Jesus ) with God. A prayer from my heart that was in question form....Jesus are You real and the Truth and if You are please show me. 3 things happened right after ...and from that day my maybe or possibly or hope so faith became I know so 1000% Jesus is the way truth and life and not BS. Ha. When I prayed it was all my heart and humble ....was not crazy or stoned or high on drugs. All these years later still am a believer in The Lord. Mind you many pastors churchgoers on and on ...are bad examples...make a person more into unbelievers ...but PTL there are pastors and believers out there who truly love and follow God and are led by the Holy Spirit .. But the title Stairway to Heaven in it self invokes the question people are searching for what is truth...what is behind this world we are in ...meaning of our existance ...
Hey Dani Uncle J- man here. Ok some classic rock and roll. This is my favorite song by Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant had a great voice and Jimmy Paige was an excellent guitarist you had John Bonhan on drums and John Paul Jones on keyboard. I was about12 when my friend Robert first played their Stairway To Heaven album and I fell in love with them. Although they were heavy metal they were influenced by Blues and folk music as well. You brought back a lot of memories. I think you should do more classic rock groups. Great reaction DEE and I have a surprise coming for you for your THANK YOU THANK YOU VERY MUCH THURSDAY’S. Hi Dani, Great review and just to link into some of your other reviews did you know that all the members of Led Zeppelin were huge Elvis fans? You might enjoy checking out on TH-cam Robert Plant talking about meeting Elvis in 1974. It is a great story!
Good reaction. I would recommend "Since I've Been Loving You", by this band next. If you want to see that solo live, I would recommend the 1973 live version from Masidon Square Gardens. An awesome performance by one of the best, Jimmy Page, as well as the rest of this great band.
Carl be safe God bless you Merry Christmas Happy New Years by the way it seemed like a really smart cookie and must have spent a lot of time in school I have good parents
Dani you should listen to the kennedy center honors rendition of this song by heart with jason bonham son of zeppelin's drummer doing drums, with the original zeppelin members watching from the balcony. so much energy. it's awesome.
@@DaniAtkinson I forgot to mention that the living members of Zeppelin were in attendance as they were being honored that night. Heart's version brought Robert Plant to tears.
@@DanielFrost21 it was seeing bonhams son on drums and remembering his friend that made him tear up. their version was FANTASTIC!!! its easily the best stairway cover ive heard
Please forgive me if some of this isn't accurate but it is a story I remember hearing about this performance. The gentleman playing the drums is the son of the drummer that originally played in Led Zeppelin and during performances he always wore a derby hat so therefore his son wore one on this night. The singers in the choir also had them on. At the end of the song you can see him look up as if to say, "Hi Dad" and he gave props and love to the original band members in the audience. It was a great performance. Peace.
Yes live a Madison Square Gardens is awesome. If you want to react to another Led Zepp monster then try "Kashmir" (you might even have heard this sampled by others) The other juggernaut of classic British rock is Pink Floyd. If you want your mind blown by a live show then either "Run Like Hell" or "Comfortably Numb" live at the Pulse Concert. Both taken from the album The Wall. Led Zepp & Pink Floyd both have amazing catalogues, so if you decide to go down these rabbit holes, "buckle up dorethy, kansas is about to go bye bye" !
There's a level of creativity that will never be again.
Considered one of if not the greatest rock song ever written! My favorite band with also my favorite guitarist Jimmy Page

The GOATS!!!! That’s all that has to be said! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Please do Free Bird by lynyrd skynyrd. The 1977 Live Concert in Oakland . This is the song that in many concerts you hear Free Bird shouted out. This is regarded as one song like Stair Way to Heaven that is legendary.
The old school British style poetry in there is just really solid and very evocative.
I congratulate you and thank you for your choice. You just posted the best song of all time.
This song is about Galadriel from the Lord of the Rings, she is an Elven Queen.
The most influential book of the 20th C inspired the greatest song of the same era.
Best rock and roll song ever made in my humble opinion
I found it charming that she was able to interpret the meaning of “Stairway “ so quickly. People have been interpreting this song since it’s introduction. Either she’s brilliant or has a lot to learn. She will find out! 👍
Thanks Paul!! :) I'll go with brilliant!
@@DaniAtkinson I might have gone the other way. You’re young and have a whole lot of love in front of you.
Wow, she's cute, I grew up with Led Zeppelin as a teen, in the UK, good times.
if the part from the guitar solo til the end doesn't get your blood flowing? there's something seriously wrong with you. the best last 3 mins of a song ever.
I loved your thoughts and insight at the close of this video! Ramble on and When the Levee Breaks are Led Zeppelin classics
I'll have to check those out!
@@DaniAtkinson I really enjoyed your reaction video more than most for sure! I would love to hear your thoughts. I was just listening to this th-cam.com/video/-enIN21BWWI/w-d-xo.html a 1975 gem! from Murray Head. Last one I send ! I don't want to pester you !
you're the first person that I've watched who got it Bravo
Hi Dani! - loved your reaction ❤️
Thank you, it is so awesome to have you here!
Best song in history of rock.. monumental guitar solo, epic group... 💪🏻
This was always in the top ten British songs, along with House of the Rising Sun, A whiter shade of pale, Nights in white satin.
Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush "dont give up" if you love a song with a story you will love this!
Amazing band, you should react to When The Levee Breaks and Since I've Been Loving You next 👌👌✌️🔥
Yeah these are true Led Zep songs.
Dani, They did a concert at Madison Square Garden In 73. If you want to see the greatest guitar solo ever then watch the Stairway To Heaven concert video.
The greatest song in history in any genre
You need to listen to the live version from Madison square garden 1973 and as a Matt of fact watch song remains the same it’s a movie about the 1973 concert it’ll blow your mind
Nothing beats the original !! Hearts version at the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony is right up there
You want Zeppelin do in the evening, black dog, thank you, tangerine, living loving mad. Among others.
Most iconic song of all the time . I am sorry but No one should stop or pause this song while playing . That’s unfair 😁
TH-cam puts policies in place for reactors, where you have to pause!
im impressed you actually got it right the first time
and as we wind on down the road our shadows taller than our souls
Robert Plant, one of rock's great voices and poet's.
Thank you so much!
Very poetic lyrics.
"In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke thru the trees, and the voices of those who stand looking."
"And a new day will dawn for those who stand long, and the forests will echo with laughter."
For a first time reaction it is amazing how you knew to pause it exactly as the solo ended.🤣🤣🤣
Ohh yeah watching Jimmy play that double neck was definitely a sight.
Hammer of the God's
I keep telling you The Rolling Stone "Time waits for no one"
The live version of this is absolutely amazing
have a listen to gary moore and phil lynott live,, parisienne walkways, stunning guitar solo and brilliant bass guitar as well as an awesome voice, one of the most moving songs ever made
What was your reaction to the music? Its progression? The power or the solo? The entry of the drums-the whole song changes when the drums come in. Light and shade-the core of the music of Led Zeppelin. I loved your lyric interpretation. Lyricist Robert Plant said that the words are deliberately abstract. We each bring our own understanding to them.
Listened to this for the first time like in 2009-2010 on Comcast’s classic rock channel lol
If you have a quiet afternoon and a little wine to enjoy this instrumental will ease you - it is by Santana and it’s called “Samba Pa Ti” pronounced “tea” lovely easy instrumental!
That sounds nice and relaxing ... will do! :)
In the original recording, there was no woodwind instrument but rather an electric organ used by John Paul Jones.
Bravo for choosing Stairway to Heaven. Your next Led Zeppelin song should be Kashmir.
Think you explained the song quite well.
It's a song I heard a lot on radio / record album as was a teen back then.
Lots of grass/pot/weed / and hash / and chemical drugs back then....and think about 40-45 % of teens young adults were into the culture / free love ...
People on drugs and the " if it feels good do it" times...had those thoughts of "what is truth?"
Some got into eastern yoga guru ...some into occultic...
Your gonna love it. Love ya ❤️❤️. OH YEAH THEY ALL LOVED ELVIS.....DUH WHO DIDNT LOVE THE KING 👑 ......... HEY HOW COME YOU ARENT ISING THE YANKEE BEATS BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES ⚾️⚾️⚾️. LETS GO YANKEES !!! .....SORRY IM ALL OVER THE PLACE.
Yes!! I need to use my yankee ones, you’re right!! I love that I brought back some good old memories for you!! Music is amazing that way :) and ooohh a surprise for thank you very much Thursday’s?! I’m so excited!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I love you!
"When all are one and one is all" = "Oneness"
This is already a classic
,Hi Dani did you know the stair way to heaven has a hidden message in the part where he sings thier are to paths u can go by but in the long run , that part play it back wards
If you really want to to dig go back to Woodstock and check out some of the greatest bands live performances such as CCR, Ten Years After, Cosby Stills and Nash, Jimmie Hendrix and Santana just to name a few
Hi Dani ,Led Zeppelin is my fav group ,did you know Led Z group met Elvis and been to his Elvis home. Led Z where a big fan of Elvis.
Absolutely have to see the live version of this
Great song! Dani can you do procol harum whiter shade of pale live from denmark 2006. Its amazing!!
Hi Dani, Great review and just to link into some of your other reviews did you know that all the members of Led Zeppelin were huge Elvis fans? You might enjoy checking out on TH-cam Robert Plant talking about meeting Elvis in 1974. It is a great story!
That is so incredible! I didn’t know that! Thank you for sharing, I will watch that video.
Greatest band of all times
Good reaction. I would recommend "Since I've Been Loving You", by this band next. If you want to see that solo live, I would recommend the 1973 live version from Masidon Square Gardens. An awesome performance by one of the best, Jimmy Page, as well as the rest of this great band.
Great song!! Still need to do White Queen though 😂 well done 👏🏻
Please react to “ Whole Lotta Love “ LIVE at Royal Albert Hall 1970 by Led Zeppelin
Dani, check out Heart's cover of "Stairway To Heaven" at the Kennedy Center Honors. It's the greatest cover of any song ever.
Ooh I would love to!
@@DaniAtkinson Here's the link to the video of Heart's cover if you haven't seen it yet. Peace.
th-cam.com/video/LFxOaDeJmXk/w-d-xo.html
Please forgive me if some of this isn't accurate but it is a story I remember hearing about this performance. The gentleman playing the drums is the son of the drummer that originally played in Led Zeppelin and during performances he always wore a derby hat so therefore his son wore one on this night. The singers in the choir also had them on. At the end of the song you can see him look up as if to say, "Hi Dad" and he gave props and love to the original band members in the audience. It was a great performance. Peace.
Much deeper message is being conveyed through the imagery. Study the meanings. More there than you know.
real masters of the universe
O . One of the best songs ever
Yes live a Madison Square Gardens is awesome.
If you want to react to another Led Zepp monster then try "Kashmir" (you might even have heard this sampled by others)
The other juggernaut of classic British rock is Pink Floyd.
I strongly recommend you listen to the live version at MSG 1973. The solo IS amazing!
