Chiba was a good place to start when getting a rental car. Some great mountain roads in Chiba and nearby Saitama. But for noobs(In japan Noobs) you gotta have your wits about you going to Daikoku via Shutoko. Accidents happen on the express way for legitimately challenging conditions even for the most experienced Gripper or Hashiriya.
