Morgz was publicly dogpiled and hated by every commentary TH-camr ever for his entire adolescence and laughed it all off, then proceeded to simply grow up and be a man about it. Meanwhile 90% of adults on the web don't know how to not lose their shit over a single impolite comment from a random account with no pfp. In retrospect I think he made fools of them all.
Fair play to him, cant be easy to pivot after making yourself known and then see the popularity drop off. I wish him all the best as he builds his new authentic fanbase.
Fair play to the lad. I’m sure he’s not bothered by the drop off in views since the rebrand. He’s happy being himself on camera rather than playing a successful character even if it means a downturn in revenue. Big respect to the man
And honestly good for him. He's doing what he wants now and no longer has to pander to an audience by making content he doesn't enjoy. I'd rather see a TH-camr have a "dead channel" because they've happily moved on with their life, than continue a channel they have no passion for and only making content because they feel like they have to.
Totally agree with you. He would have been worse off if he hadn't moved on. I hope he was responsible with the money he earned along the way and he's got an amazing start to whatever he wants to do
Maybe I'm too easily pleased by getting 10 million views per month sounds like plenty, if it's not making a sharp decline, unless you're chasing infinite growth.
his problem was making content toward kids... unless its animation or something that never lasts. Yeah its way slower making to adults but its way more of a loyal fan base. If you aim your vids to 25 year olds they would proberly be with you till YT dies. But a kid just jumps on whatever is hot

I used to feel resentment towards his presence on TH-cam, but now I've seen this and had years to grow mentally, I see that what he was able to achieve at such a young age was incredible. I hope he continues creating so long as he feels it serves his best interests continuing being his honest self. Respect.
honestly mad respect to the guy for choosing being genuine and having that more personal connection over TH-cam success in the long run, that has to be a pretty scary and hard thing to do considering how much that damaged his views and popularity.
I like how he didn’t just give up and get bullied into a corner, he just decided to be himself and move on from his old self. He seriously has my respect!
This guy. I respect him a lot. He could have kept up the persona but it would have taken a toll on him mentally and emotionally and TH-cam really isn't worth risking those things. I think he did the right thing in wanting to mature and just be himself in his videos. As well as being honest about his experiences and the things he's done on TH-cam. It would be nice if more TH-camrs were like him. It would certainly make for less annoying people on the platform.
It kinda isn't look at channels like fousey or Alex Wassabi with ten mil plus subs barely cracking a million views a month he can still averages 500k per video which is still good but no way near as it used to be and still can make alot of money by posting content he wants and dealing with less hate
I found Morgz kinda annoying in the past, but I never hated on him cos that's not fair on him. I feel like he's matured greatly as a person, and I can see that in his more recent videos.
I feel like he was always that mature off camera, he just realized that being over the top was doing amazing for his youtube channel, so he just rolled with it.
Why are people so to quick to bully children? I'm not saying he's free of criticism, but he was a child... It's hard to be a child in today's age. If you're like Morgz, you're told to grow up. Its funny how people criticized how he left school at the young age of 15 when every SINGLE fucking advice u get growing up was to do something u enjoy. There he goes doing the stuff he loves and was criticized. Good on him, very smart person
what you need to understand is that 1. youtube isn't a stable platform, if it goes under or your videos don't do well you could go broke, and you'd have no high school/college degree to fall back on to get another job, and 2. he didn't enjoy making videos the way he was doing them, at least once he got older and more mature.
I think his hate was unearned. He didn’t hurt anyone (maybe himself for dropping out of school but even that’s debatable if he was smart with the money).
From what I've heard he still got his GCSEs so dropping out doesn't even hurt him at all. He only misses out of a two year A Level qualification and any University degree.
Dropping out of school was the best decision he's ever made. He mentioned that he never resonated with the material taught and now he's retired young with millions. Sometimes the unconventional way turns out to be the right way with enough luck and the right circumstances.
@@sallytheuselessbird true, he saw the opportunity and jumped on it. school can wait. someone i knew dropped out of school in 7th grade to start a video production company. he did that a few years. he never went back to school but ended up working at Amazon as a QA engineer at 19. he has bounced around from tech company to tech company since, getting promoted along the way. he had the confidence to know that school wasn't for him yet figured out what would help him actually grow. smart guy
I love seeing TH-camrs grow. You put all this time and effort into something you enjoy and love. The only reason I would agree with someone completely losing subscribers on their channel is if they done something pretty bad. I don’t think someone should lose subscribers just because of something dumb.
One thing to remember is the decline in his Channel might not be such a bad thing. He clearly realized views were dropping and instead of trying to find what works again he decided what's best for him is to be transparent with his viewers. The thing with Morgz is that.. he grew up. He took it like a man, and though i never enjoyed or watched his style of content. I do have to give them man some credit. Can't gain financial freedom if you don't have a steady flow of income. If he continues his lifestyle now and doesn't start something new like a new buisness or owning some houses to rent out. he will be working again by the time he's 40. Being a "millionaire" isn't financial freedom anymore for peopleike him it just extended his vacation time.

@@aerystargaryenii2565 Financial freedom is possible with a couple of million if you aren’t an idiot, and that doesn’t even require investment. People can retire on $5m. But people need to also realise you can’t live a lifestyle like a multimillionaire every single day if you want it to last. With $5m, you can live off $125k a year for 40 years without working. But, you can indeed invest it, gain interest etc and be comfortable. I retired at 23, I have financial freedom. My wife who is 24, started dating me at 16 years old, also never has to work again. We have our own built home, a 2 year old son and 9 month old daughter. We are set, we have secured funds for a very comfortable life, as well as for our children when they’re older but we intend for them to work somewhat. I did a lot of charity work despite admittedly never having worked a hard day in my life. But I did enough to receive recognition and accolades from Her Majesty The Queen for my Services to the United Kingdom and Her Majesty even invited me and my partner to Buckingham Palace to meet members of The Royal Family (which also included Prince William, Prince Harry and Catherine Middleton). I was born in Cambridge, UK, and have lived here all my life and still do and have always had a fortunate and good life. Now me and my partner intend to spend every minute making the most of not needing to work and enjoying our time with our children as they grow up. We appreciate how fortunate we are and how few parents are both able to say they can spend every minute with their children and not have to go to work, and can travel and make memories whenever we want. Usually at least one parent has to go to work. PS. I’m a public figure, my verified Twitter account is @SamCarvalho So you can be comfortable, but personally I’d advise only living a super luxurious lifestyle if you have at least £25m in savings, have solid investments, other income such as properties and so on. Plus also if you have enough money, you can easily live most of your life or at least most expenses off the interest you make with your bank/financial institution just from having your money sit in the bank if you can’t be bothered to invest in anything! 😉 Easily earn at least £200k a year from interest if you got £25m sitting in a basic bank and basic interest. But there are much better deals and interest rates than that.
It actually feels weird not seeing every TH-camr under the sun making a Morgz video, because he toned down his obnoxious behavior in order to make his content more mature, and I think that's what hurt his content in the long run, as he not only lost people who made content on him for free advertising, but all the people who watch him ironically also left as now his content can't really be watched in an ironic sense. I still hope he's doing well for himself regardless
Yeah but he did build his ground on TH-cam under clickable and loud humor. I do hope though that people like him on who he is now and not his false identity in the past. Everyone starts somewhere.
Although I do think that it'll kinda cruise along. Pick up a few new subs/viewers here and there who didn't really experience the Morgzpocalypse and hell, who knows, perhaps even clear the name somewhat with a new(er) audience in the future.
At the same time, is it crazy that I hear his name for the first time in this video? Strange, how there are many parallel mini-universes in youtube, completely separate content...
Saying his channel is dead getting 5 million views a month is ridiculous, that is enough to live very comfortably. A dead channel is one that stops uploading for months/years.
His content now is actually entertaining I’m glad that he’s finally making content that he actually enjoys and not making clickbait content targeted towards kids so he can pull in more views
I love how great your videos are for when I'm laying tile. You're descriptive enough in your scripting so that I can get the full picture just by listening. Love it.
I actually found what he did as respectable. I think the peace of mind he gained by being himself is worth more than the million views he lost. So many youtubers got destroyed mentally cause they kept on using their fake personas just to please the fans. This is like losing fake friends and having your real friends stay because they like who you are. I hope he gets more people that prefer him being real than being a bullshayter.
This is actually eye opening for me. The “Morgz” style video irritates me a lot, but seeing the actual person behind it that actually has a relatable personality opens my eyes a bit. I hope all these hype/fake personalities can get to this point of wanting to just be themselves.
Met him in a club in Prague last summer haha, he's definitely a very chill guy, totally down to earth and funny average bloke. Was not like he comes across in videos, clearly just pandered to what audience he knew he had.
One of my family members was the quoted "headteacher" at Morgz' school. I remember him saying he was not fully understanding how much Morgz was earning - he thought it was 50 pounds a month when it was actually 50,000. From what he said about the guy he seemed alright at school, but he quit after his GCSEs and he never saw him again.
Oh so Morgz dropped out AFTER his GCSEs? Wow that response video is stupid then. It's pretty normal to not continue onto A Levels and GCSEs will get you through life. You only do A Levels if you either don't have a career planned out or you are looking for Uni. If you have a career planned out that doesn't require Uni (like Entertainment) then you really shouldn't even be going into A Levels.
Sometimes the worst thing for an artist is success. Once you gain a reputation or fanbase for one vein of work in particular, you can lose yourself in what you create. I'm glad he had the sense to get out when he did, and I hope that he can find stability in whatever he puts his mind to.

Bruh I swear these bots, but yeah I agree. If he had kept the obnoxious personality it would eventually effect his actual personality behind the camera. And at least hes self aware about his channels decline as to not upload as much, so he has some common sense.
I actually 100% agree, Morgz was a big part of my childhood but i grew out of him. At one point i started to find him cringy, but i did love him when i was like 7-8
Not gonna lie, the fact he had to choose between youtube at 15 is an unbelievably hard decision to make. Even if you know its gonna be okay its still a hard choice to make. Hes not my kind of content creator but I can respect him, its difficult growing up on youtube and he hasn't always made the right choices but he's been pursuing his goals and doing what he believes will work, its nice to see a story where people aren't actually hurt i mean you can argue some people were emotionally hurt but thats about it. Hope the man finds his stride again maybe I might actually check him out because of that.
I'm glad Kiera managed to leave his past self behind. She has her own channel now. However I really respect Morgz for what he's done recently. It's amazing.
I respect his decision he realized that what he was doing before isn't what he wants to do now nor his whole life and knew and acknowledged he had made mistakes and although he may have lost his big career because of it he's now doing what he actually wants to do not following the algorithm or the latest trend just being himself and enjoying his life and i believe it deserves some kind of respect
Overall I feel it’s somewhat admirable of morgz to decide not to continue paper chasing, be happy with the success he has already had, and make content he is proud of, he surprised me and most others giving us a video in this series that is not depressing
I dont think Morgz was ever a bad guy, just that his TH-cam persona had a higher priority than his real personality. now that (like he said) he could retire and comfortably live out the rest of his life without the need for more money, that's why his very hyper enthusiastic TH-cam side went into videos less and less.
Gotta respect the self reflecting on his older content and younger self, not a lot of people in his situation can do that, especially to the public lol.
Another nail in the coffin for our education system. This guy dropped out of school at 15 and was still able to go on and become more successful than likely the vast majority of his classmates.
Realistically, even if his channel is getting only a portion of what it had before, getting the better part of a million views a video doesn't seem like death to me. That's still a decent amount of traction and if he plays his cards right he can bounce back.
Respect for him to want to just "cut the bullshit and be himself". I can't imagine how draining that is, also that annoying af persona made him the family breadwinner since he was a kid
The only people I've seen not take a hit while doing what he did gradually "grow up" with their audience content wise rather than doing a hard transition, but since he was young himself its really hard to cynically decide to do that. I respect what he ended up doing a lot though.
Him wanting to be himself finally makes me happy. He’s set for life financially, to the point that I’m not so sure views even matter anymore. For the first time, I’m actually pulling for Morgz.

If he continues his lifestyle now and doesn't start something new like a new buisness or owning some houses to rent out. he will be working again by the time he's 40.
PS. I’m a public figure, my verified Twitter account is @SamCarvalho
So you can be comfortable, but personally I’d advise only living a super luxurious lifestyle if you have at least £25m in savings, have solid investments, other income such as properties and so on. Sometimes the worst thing for an artist is success. Once you gain a reputation or fanbase for one vein of work in particular, you can lose yourself in what you create. I'm glad he had the sense to get out when he did, and I hope that he can find stability in whatever he puts his mind to.
the guy makes upwards of 25k a month so fair to say that quitting school was a good idea for him, hes probably made more money in the last few years than he would of in a lifetime at another job. fair play!
Agree
i’d say that education is more than just getting a good job but yeah

Hope "Morgz" is doing good because now he seems like a pretty chill dude.
I think it’s quite sad actually, I get he’s annoying and I agree, however it’s kind of like the situation that JellyBean was in, they both made videos for a certain audience and the videos reach people who weren’t that. He definitely wanted to be himself and make good videos and him dropping out at 15 years old showed this.
Don’t compare someone who worked on youtube for years to some kid who makes videos with zero effort the addition of shorts has made TH-cam more boring and morgz helped make TH-cam more interesting. Mr beast is one of it not the only channel left who makes great videos like the 2017 era was
@@spicylikeasnake whether or not there was a lot of effort put in the videos is irrelevant because for my comparison, it’s comparing the hate they both got. 🙂

Perfect.
You know he kinda won in this whole thing. He did TH-cam for a few years, made a name for himself and didn’t care about what people thought and made enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life.
I love this channel and I love that someone is out there reppin’ it for us Aussies, BUT, titling this video with the claim that someone’s career is completely dead when they’re still getting 10 million views per month every single month is pretty click-baity in and of itself.
i agree!!
If u watched the video to the end he says that Morgz makes 5 million views per month now. The problem is that he doesn't upload that much anymore, and his videos don't appeal to the same audience. He also doesn't have the attention of acting like a douchebag, so it'll only continue to decline. It's safe to say that it IS dead, or at least not even close to its prime.

i never thought when i watched this that id end up really admiring Morgz, but i have to say i really do. Dudes honestly got a fantastic outlook on life, and i'm proud of what he's become. It's also pretty admirable that he never let the hate get to him, i have no clue how he did that, but that's truly impressive. Glad to see where he's at now and i wish him the best in the future
nobody asked ur opinion

Bro at least he changed. That's more important
Otherwise he would try getting views the same old way.
Not a fan of him, but I respect him more in comparison to before
I make vids jus like sunnyv2, if it's trash just let me know
To average 5 Million views a month is still a flex tbh
That was a pretty ok ending all things considered. Morgz seems to have shaped up and is now acting like a regular human being. I wish him the best.
It's crazy how his "dead channel" still gets 5 million views a month. He was really popping at one point
Let's just appreciate how detailed Sunny's videos are!
Wtf are all these bots
Juses, there multiplying
why are there so much bots in this specific comment section☠️☠️

A real comment
I was expecting to hate this kid more and more but it actually turned into a redemption story. Good on him for finally being himself.
I hope Morgz is finding peace in his life as he has grown so much as a person. And being honest about himself and the fake persona he had, trying to open up can be kinda scary at first but it can also be a breath of fresh air as you are no longer forced to hide your true self. Best of wishes to you Morgz and your family👍.
Despite all the shit, Morgz needs to be included in like the TH-cam hall of fame purely for his impact on the commentary genre of TH-cam, this man got loads of commentary TH-camrs on the radar through them making videos about him
True

i think that although morgz’s channel has fallen off, he is completely content with it. i mean, he hasn’t uploaded as frequently as he used to, and he’s toned down the obnoxious personality he created for the channel.. i wouldn’t be surprised if he retired within a year or two
plus his girlfriend went for a fellow youtuber so that may have humbled him lol
He also could’ve toned the obnoxious personality cause he found it tiring to do, aince it didn’t seem to come naturally to him
Bruh I swear these bots, but yeah I agree. If he had kept the obnoxious personality it would eventually effect his actual personality behind the camera. And at least hes self aware about his channels decline as to not upload as much, so he has some common sense.
I mean i think its a strategy cuz the paul brothers did that too now their rich and pursuing what they actually love

One of the most lighthearted downfalls with very little drama, so he's not a bad person compared to alot featured in the channel
6:27 Damn, I remember this haha, call the fire department! 😂
I'm glad Kiera managed to leave his past self behind. She has her own channel now. However I really respect Morgz for what he's done recently. It's amazing.
5:50 i love how mr beast is like genuinely trying to help him out instead of attacking him
Chad 😎
and then he went on to attack him he is two faced
Those adults really helped their own careers by picking on a kid for being "annoying". That is far, far more cringy.
Agreed
I respect his decision he realized that what he was doing before isn't what he wants to do now nor his whole life and knew and acknowledged he had made mistakes and although he may have lost his big career because of it he's now doing what he actually wants to do not following the algorithm or the latest trend just being himself and enjoying his life and i believe it deserves some kind of respect
Overall I feel it’s somewhat admirable of morgz to decide not to continue paper chasing, be happy with the success he has already had, and make content he is proud of, he surprised me and most others giving us a video in this series that is not depressing
I dont think Morgz was ever a bad guy, just that his TH-cam persona had a higher priority than his real personality. now that (like he said) he could retire and comfortably live out the rest of his life without the need for more money, that's why his very hyper enthusiastic TH-cam side went into videos less and less.
he is a bad guy for being a clickbaiter

Respect to him for trying to be better, but the cycle of TH-cam never misses its course
I think he’ll be able to bounce back. Hopefully he finds an audience that appreciates his genuine personality.
Respect for him to want to just "cut the bullshit and be himself". I can't imagine how draining that is, also that annoying af persona made him the family breadwinner since he was a kid
Nice bot accounts. Be a shame if I reported them
The only people I've seen not take a hit while doing what he did gradually "grow up" with their audience content wise rather than doing a hard transition, but since he was young himself its really hard to cynically decide to do that. I respect what he ended up doing a lot though.
Him wanting to be himself finally makes me happy. He’s set for life financially, to the point that I’m not so sure views even matter anymore. For the first time, I’m actually pulling for Morgz.
I really do wish the best for him. He had the courage to change his entire personality for the better in front of 11 million fans. That must've been a really difficult desicion. Lots of respect

I didn’t really know who this guy was before this but man I feel nothing but sympathy for Morgz. Sunny, i love how your title and content reflect the points made in the video about how negative publicity (i.e your title) helped to boost his channel (i.e you pointing out how he chose to be himself at the risk of losing viewership, which we all agree is very respectable, thus helping him in a similar way hate videos did).
