I'd say you need a better light for the overhead camera and need to zoom in a little bit just so we can see the multimeter and the board components being tested.
Good day Tech Cemetery. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about GPU repairs. I wish all your twitch broadcast will also be uploaded on yt, as your previous twitch videos seems to be deleted after sometime. Thank you again. I hope your yt community grows for you to create more wonderful videos.
I have shorted MOSFETs and I noticed something very strange, when I precisely spray a small amount of contact cleaner on the related Gate Driver the short is gone and the resistance of the MOSFET gradually gets back to normal, but when I tried to power the card again the short is back. I did that about 3 times and the short goes away every time with the contact cleaner on the Gate Driver. How can that happen? Does that mean the Gate Driver is faulty as well?
Hi good job repairing the card .I wonder if you could share which microscope you use .I intend to buy one but do not really know which one .There are so many to choose from Are you happy with the one you have ???
I had a rx 580 card that was knocked over, it boots up and gives display with lots of artifact lines but only without drivers. As soon as you try to initialize drivers the PC crashes. I think it must be a VRAM problem, numbers aren't recognized in GPU-Z, do you think the memory chip itself is damaged or perhaps its a damaged VRM or circuit connected to the memory? Might that be easier to fix?
Told a few people with dead GPU's to contact you over the past few weeks, they often post on Reddit's NVIDIA sub but the posts get removed within hours because for some reason they don't allow technical support posts. Feels like a lot of people don't really know where to go with a dead card out of warranty. Almost every time I see a post like that it's some guy with a card that is artifacting, mostly 10 series which makes sense since they're starting to age and given how many were sold.
hey mate can you guide me if buying card above 70 series are safe as you mentioned in your last video according to your experience are not reliable cards and thats true see this video title 70, 80 series always . So my point is which Brand should i go for (in Nvidia Processing Unit) and which gpu is way to go in terms of reliability. And also can you tell me which cards are more came for repair i.e MSi zotac xfx evga asus gigabyte which one

I'm just wondering, if you had vram bank issues, if you remove 1 of the chip (which is faulty), is it going to work? let's say from 4GB vram into 3.5GB vram
@@maklogetrich2378 Yes, because the gpu is built and meant to have the right amount of memory and if it don't it detects a severe fault with the card and will not start up.
Hey i am from india and i have a very weird GTX 1050Ti zotac mini and that card dont have any shorts on 12v and 5v pcie lane but sometimes it just not detected by my system and i have gt710 to but that dosenot do that at all my system is ok i know any way do you have any discord channels?
good job so much enjoy your repairs working with PC repairs for 20 years but was never in GPU side of repairs now thinking to try myself to little train them :D there is so much li rx570 rx580 for literally free broken from mining to give them a chance for another life idk :) your videos are sucking me into that challenge :D
Where did you get all this unbelievable knowledge on GPU repairs, do you own an electronics engineer degree, or just learned so much as an hobby, never seen someone with just an expertise knowledge on this.
New viewer. I watch lots of Northridge fix and glad to find new repair channels!
Who is the side dude you're talking to? It's kind of odd.
I'd say you need a better light for the overhead camera and need to zoom in a little bit just so we can see the multimeter and the board components being tested.
Yep!, it's fixed in later streams. The one you're watching is from early January before I changed the microphone and lighting.

what is that soldering wire that is on the table? For the first time in my life, I see that packing black but cant read it Is it blurry? Tnx! Respect!
The information flow is so rapid and dense I can rewatch the diagnostic procedure over and over. By the way I never watch videos twice.

The microscope itself is good, but the stand that holds it is kind of bad. I have a "Yizhan 38 MP microscope"

hey @Tech Cemetry can tell me about your thermal camera ? Its name version etc ?
Seek compact, I don't recommend it.
What would cause a GPU to get too hot as soon as powered on. I can't even touch it when i give it power to try and test the power rails
Was it 120-150ohm to gnd on the last one or how did you measure that low resistans as it was just a blown fuse? Did I miss something?

There was another problem too. An inductor had a broken top.
Do you post stream announcements anywhere?
I currently stream MWF, around 10am central time (GMT -6)
Guys what do you think about a video card that fan turns on but no post?

Thanks for uploading to TH-cam
when that Fuse saw what he did to the near inductor, committed suicide.
do you only do gpus? i saw a few laptops but not motherboards?
I typically don't get sent motherboards for repair, and few of them are repairable.
he ever did repair motherboard, check out videos
Definitely loving your streams entertaining and informative keep up the good work
Very informative , whole lotta thanks for the post tbh

Pick a card based off of the warranty support. I recommend EVGA and MSI for RTX 30x0 cards.
I am dad-ing from twitch.
Did you repair that 2070 that stop detected after replacing memory module A0?
It's now detected again, but crashes on driver install.

Dead BIOS chip

so you cannot change the core to repair the card?
Working cores cost almost as much as a working and used card. Replacing the core is almost never worth it.

Hi where do you recommend buying a memory chips
Mouser/Digikey if possible, otherwise Taobao, Aliexpress.
good job uploading this to youtube
Why not stream on both youtube and twitch at same time ?
Maybe in the future, but I currently consider Twitch to be the better platform for something like this.

BODGE WIRE!
You need to improve your micro soldering skills...
It's good enough for the repair work I do.
Awesome video . Questions if i may , were would be a good start to learn these skills to repair graphic cards ? KInd regards
Just practice, I started by buying cards broken off of eBay, and if you get stuck, move on to the next card.
@@TechCemetery Thank you , i am going to do that . Kind regards
