Preparation of UPSC is not only about cracking the exam. It helps in self discovery and realisation the reality of surrounding. U cracked it bcz u started preparation but when u sat and think about it:. U realised u dont want this… it is not about everyone else… its about u… and whatever u choose.. u use ur own conscience… not everyone need to do this.. but since u choose this.. it wasnt easy… u took the hard decision.. all the best and obviously the respect for u.. from heart

Kudos to you !! It's tough to let go of things when you have it but on the same note, it seems a costly experiment to realise what you want to do in life by paying a price of 5 years (till 2020) and taking more 4 years to realise that you want to start a coaching for the very same exam you didn't find worth pursuing after getting selected for it. Slightly confusing especially considering it took you 9-10 years for this realization. Nonetheless, remarkable hardwork and respect the humility to accept what you really want to do. Cheers.
I agree with you, it is individual perspective, but wen you don't have financial stability, then it won't works... Financial instability makes u to do any job....

Being part of the nation building exercise and doing your part has its own charm, I feel. It's a path to lose the self and engage in service. The working hours won't matter to such a person. Even family becomes secondary, if they are not considerate of the situation. This kind of a life is definitely not for everyone. I really appreciate your perseverance, resilience and hard work. The clarity that you have about the purpose of your life is also commendable. But I would like to know from you whether your decision of leaving the service would have been same if you had got the IAS/IPS? Of course the life after getting into the a service like IAS is going to be hectic and it has its own set of challenges, but the very ability to make an impact increases significantly. A slow and happy life may be comfortable but to bring breakthrough changes some trade off would always be there. If everyone starts aspiring a life that is limited to self and own family, then who would transform the society? I am talking in a general sense. I feel deserving and good people are urgently needed in these top positions.
Just curious what's the source of your financial responsibility ? How do u manage that , that's the biggest question for me share that please . In your story i can say u should start writing & publish book , no offence but teaching job js quite competitive for upsc if u got 1% u will get Money, if money isn't your goal then i see myself in u as we prepare we just get attached to our home parents & don't want to chase posh things , u can start business drop shipping , copy writing & all blog writting choose ur best interest where u don't get bored easily & can stay at home also.

Sir I've questions im in last year of graduation, I'll appear for cse 2025 , recently upsc has reduced the exam cycle, if i clear prelims but unable to present graduation or last year marksheet at the time of daf1 then will i able to appear for mains?? Plz sir answer you've a lot experienced

This is what you should be knowing before preparation because being an officer is not a easy job you have to spend so much of hours in the duty and you will not gonna have a time for your family it is so obvious.... Why did you spend so many years in preparation because at the time of a preparation only we got to know the profile.... For a nation service we can we can sacrifice our life....
That's why I feel state pcs is better option than all India services through UPSC... If one will join in administration through state pcs he/she will promote to upsc cadre later and administrative service is great when you are in field.

I have also realiased something similar. Prepared for around 5 years with Job. Changed 4 job. 3 govt job. But ultimately realiased life is not only about achieving. Life is a big meaning to it. Currently i am working at RBI

with due respect , i would congratulate you , but can't you work for atleast a few years. becoming a fresher will again be too hard on you, you will have to start again from the beginning and become best in another field, and many will / your own colleges will tell you that you made a mistake every time you fail. sometimes this comments come from those you rely on. you will think people will respect you knowing that you actually cleared the exam so they will know you value but they forget . people have a tendency to forget what you have achieved in the past and they will only judge you on your present. after UPSC level job you yourself might have to find something of more value that you want to achieve. thats also a struggle. Its like having a greatest girl you can have , and leaving her thinking of someone better but then you dont get anything...... Some of the mistakes are of my own and some i have seen people make. I wont judge you , because i dont know you. but your close ones will. just an advise to not to choose the scary future..
