As a Latina, I really wanted to learn this for Abuela. She used to love watching all the young guys and girls salsa dancing in Puerto Rico before she up moved here to Arkansas, and she asked me and my boyfriend to learn it so she can watch it again and relive those moments from Puerto Rico. Thank you for this video.
Arielle Slinger Me too. My co worker who’s from Colombia introduced me to his Cousin and hit it off. She likes to dance sometimes but likes a lot of music so it helps me since she likes rock too so I want to learn this for her..and myself of course. My co worker was saying just learning basic moves, move your hips, and just go with it, that’s all you need. Obviously if you want to be more technical, it’s more advanced. Just have fun he says. I wish you luck my friend. Also, impress her by being you & don’t take any BS, it’s crazy out there. Best wishes!
When they twist a bit with their hips in every step it really makes the biggest difference then just stepping back and forth that little flare is what makes the dance look magical
Hardest part about salsa dancing for the men is getting an ear for the beat. Once you got that down, everything else falls into place. I just listened to salsa music over and over again, dancing by myself in the subway even, so I could get a feel for the beat. It eventually came to me and I was like, "Cool!" haha!
I have listened to salsa so many hours i cant record. Im both half latin and half white, and if you arent raised on salsa, it takes a while to learn this dance. I have the beat, no doubt (soy Latino), but you still need to know the steps as taught in this video. Que Viva Puerto Rico!
Love this video so much! As a Latina it’s always been embarrassing for me that I can’t salsa but this video has helped so much! I don’t feel like I’m completely lost anymore. I’ve watched many videos before this one and none have been as detailed. You guys are amazing!
👍👍👏👏 I agree! I'm not Latina or anything but I've always wanted to learn and this video of explanation was spot on. I don't feel like had 4 left feet while learning the steps 🤣
I think that is very cool to have that kind of culture. I was stationed overseas back in 2002 and used to hit the club which had salsa dancing. I loved it but I came back home and wife doesn't like to dance. So I am stuck with memories at least. Keep it up you'll get there I didn't know what I was doing but I got woman to dance with me.
Just had my first Salsa lesson. My husband & I were wishing we could practice at home but needed someone to follow. Decided to look on TH-cam and found your videos. I think we are going to sign up for your membership. Dance, dance, dance! 😍
My dear guys, THANK YOU for explaining leading - following so well. I'm a salsa dancer with a looong resume but only recently I started to lead and although I know 'by the feeling' what to do, I was very unclear how to do it exactly. And also, thank you for teaching steps in such a straoghtforward, kinesiological manner. You just got yourselves a die hard fan and a student.
I have a spannish mom and peruvian dad, and from as Young as I can remember my parents already teached how to do it :, but it’s really cool to see these kinda videos 😁. It’s a really nice and sweet way to dance and have fun
I started my first salsa lessons last Thursday and today is going to be my second class so thank you for your video which helps me to practice learning to be a better dancer.
I took my first dance class last night, “strictly beginner salsa” - they were teaching these steps - but YOU made it so much easier. I leave Friday for Miami with my GF. I am just going to practice the solo steps tonight. I really want to take her dancing (kind of surprise her a little). At least having SOME knowledge gives me a little more confidence! Thanks!
I did salsa in school for a project, literally months of being taken out of classes and being taught a routine by a teacher I only remember nas richard(pretty sure the performance was called summertime, at the royal Albert hall in London, around 2009 maybe,) this has brought all those memories back up.
Thank you so so much life is extremely busy with kids I don’t have time to go and lean now I can lean at home how wonderful and thoughtful of you to creat this video may God bless you thank you so much again 🙏🙏🙏
“Switch weight” ... all these years of frustration and giving up.. no one ever explained this.. I was “tapping” and looking foolish and stiff.. I’m older but want to try this one more time! Thank u!!
I picked up the basic salsa move because I did Zumba a few times. I just did it and thought it looked like how everyone else does it haha but watching this I’m glad it really was right. Love the Latin music and would love to try salsa with a partner one time 😍 And also learn the more complicated moves too
Thank you so much for all of the amazing content! My husband & I are learning Salsa & Tango - and you really help us with our steps & hip actions. Thank you!!
🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃 I notice there is a slight turn that happen when dancing close, also sometimes it just happens moments. Going with the flow helps too. Knot feel to stiff or ridged. Just Smooth and sensually steponic. I appreciate your ways of explaining too. Glad to have received such expressed guide supports. 🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃 Thank you so much for sharing with us such fun natures. 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
I love your class. The only bad part was the fact that I didn't have a partner in my living room to dance with. As a Panamanian, it's kind of embarrassing when you can't dance off Spanish songs. Thank you ❤
Nice one, one watch and I've got a rhythem, thank you, now I'll at least walk into my introductory class on Wednesday without stepping on toes from the very start! Amazing teaching skills, always wanted to Salsa and hopefully soon I'll be able to! Also what is the song you're dancing to? It seems great for formative control, easy beat to find and constant rhythem to follow.
Wait i just realized my go-to dance style in social situations w/ dancing is salsa. I've taken a bit of ballroom and latin, a little jazz and tap, tiny bit of hip, some folk dance, flamenco, and tons of ballet, but never ever salsa specifically!!! It feels like one of the simplest types of Latin dance, and i guess some of the other short periods i did some other Latin dances carried over lol
Venezuelan but never learned how to dance salsa. I always felt like the odd one out at parties and gatherings. It’s kind of a bit insecurity of mine so I’m taking the first step to fix that.
great videos. Most videos are too dark or hard to understand with poor audio. production is important for education in dances! I also appreciate the building blocks incorporated into dancing. My only gripe is the loose pants in some of the videos that make it hard to see the leg movements, thankfully the Merengue one was simple enough. Good stuff, i will watch more :)
Shout to you guys I have had lessons before and they where great. You guys have awesome style hopefully I can soak all that up this time and get it down👍🙏🕺🌹

Bro I’m Latino but I’m young n my fam made me dance this New Years so now I’m embarrassed 😳 n I gotta rise for the next occasion

Exactly! I took some lessons in Mexico but I am Pakistani and I just can't get the beat. I keep on saying 1 2 3 5 6 7 in my heart :D
It is hard to get the beat. Do you have trick? For example, in this song I can’t assign 1 2 3 and 5 6 7 to the beat
thats good advice, thanks!
Oh, so YOU'RE the crazy guy I saw dancing in the subway! Lol
Love this video so much! As a Latina it’s always been embarrassing for me that I can’t salsa but this video has helped so much! I don’t feel like I’m completely lost anymore. I’ve watched many videos before this one and none have been as detailed. You guys are amazing!

Hola ! You CAN dance salsa, its just a matter of time and finding good dance partners (and instruction).
As long as you keep 1,2,3 stop . Any step is possible and w practice you can dance w anybody that knows.
👍👍👏👏 I agree! I'm not Latina or anything but I've always wanted to learn and this video of explanation was spot on. I don't feel like had 4 left feet while learning the steps 🤣
Same I’m Mexican and Puerto Rican it’s extra embarrassing
I live in Medellin, i have to start learning the salsa. Everybody dances like profesionales here. Even the kids.
All the professionals were once amateurs.... Don't give up!
@@MarcusBodyCoding well said..

I started my first salsa lessons last Thursday and today is going to be my second class so thank you for your video which helps me to practice learning to be a better dancer.
Me too! We started lessons and this is great for review or as a refresher. Great videos!
Salsa is the most beautiful dance of all the Latin dances. I learnt it years ago, but haven’t done for a long time
I took my first dance class last night, “strictly beginner salsa” - they were teaching these steps - but YOU made it so much easier. I leave Friday for Miami with my GF. I am just going to practice the solo steps tonight. I really want to take her dancing (kind of surprise her a little). At least having SOME knowledge gives me a little more confidence! Thanks!
Great job!
The way you both move is so entrancing! I can't wait to get there. Thanks for the videos.
Our pleasure!
I needed some faster-paced dances for a novel I am writing, but didn't know any. This was a perfect guide for what i needed - thank you so much!
Easy to understand and simple to follow steps.......Really nice way to start off with Salsa dance lessons....Thx so much....
I did salsa in school for a project, literally months of being taken out of classes and being taught a routine by a teacher I only remember nas richard(pretty sure the performance was called summertime, at the royal Albert hall in London, around 2009 maybe,) this has brought all those memories back up.

Well done, very clear and concise.

As a somewhat washed out latino that loves true latinas, this helped me so much. thank you!
You're so welcome!
Good posture--they are standing straight w/ weight slightly forward toward each other, and Kim has great hip action!
I like it, nice. Thanks for taking the time to share
