- Now that we have established that the Proton S70 is actually a great car ( watch our Genting Hillclimb video to see why), the question that would be niggling at us would be, which car to buy.
There are four variants to select from, starting with the baseline model Executive which is priced at RM73,800, and two other variants before the top-of-the-range Flagship X priced at RM94,800.
I guess it's different strokes for different folks, so please watch the video and see which one is for you.

The face could look a bit sharper, but for the price Its really hard to beat.
Manage once been as backseat passenger in X70 with sunroof previously at night, cant stop looking up to the sky 🌌 (with all high rise building in kl), really a fresh ride vs old ride (looking to only window at side) 🥳.
but the sunroof in S70 are smaller i think, the X70 are wider till backseat.
everytime now X70 pass by, i understand how good passenger hv been-in (plus with the nappa leather provided) 👍🏻.
for S70, all variance are ok as long as have the features to open all window with saying Hi Proton 🥳👍🏻. Congrats to all S70 owner for another great production by Proton.
Went to Proton showroom this afternoon, sadly they don't have a test drive car yet, but for me I think I will go for Flagship spec (Flagship X is kinda useless, just a sunroof upgrade only) since this is my first car and I'm currently driving first gen myvi, so it will be a huge upgrade for me, can't wait to try out the ADAS system, one point that is disappointed is it don't have android auto or apple car play at the moment.
Damn bro we are totally the same haha, S70 will be my very first car as well after myvi first gen (mom's). Just waiting for my stock then can start drivin

@@madao3709 but in a nutshell it will be reliable since this is the same engine in the x50 (standard and premium variant)
Between the Premium and the flagship, I would recommend Flagship even with a 10k difference. That is only about RM95 extra for monthly installment of 9 years.
RM111 extra monthly (assuming 10% down payment and 9 years installment)

Same engine as X50 and DCT perhaps with a taller final drive
Maybe could check on volvo engines and transmission used by them. Since partner is Geely, they kind of used Volvo engines in their cars as they mow own Volvo

went to test drive a unit today and they only got flagshipx, I think the excutive and premium meter are better than the flagship one cause I more prefer analog type can see teh needle bouncing when the dct changing gear is nice! If I going to get a unit probally will got for the lowest spec executive cause add on 6k more only get led headlamp and nothing more..I think I can install my own headlamp with less of the price in the future..haha
Sure, that sounds like a plan.
So the rebadged Emgrand is finally out. My 2 issues with this car is its low ground clearance and the fact it doesnt get android auto or apple carplay but Ive read theyre working on it, other than that its a feature rich sedan that finally gets a turbo.

Only 1 question. Is the wiring harness for the entire car the same for all variants?. If so, buy cheapest and then install only needed flagship accessories? Did you know that you can buy the digital cluster online? They are selling Audi's clusters for RM1.2k only?
Havent gone that deep but usually the wiring cluster is the same. Didn't know about the cluster, but us intetesting to know.
Some of the stuff like H4 bulbs can be replaced, but LED lights need entire assembly.

All cars have a blind spot! A golf cart would have minimal blind spots.
