Alternatively, could you please stuff a heavily modified Nissan V8 powered 5.6 L VK56DE engine that is a hybrid of the one that has been used in the Nissan GT-R GT1, and the one that has been used in the Australian V8 Supercrars Racing series spec version of the Nissan Altima, under the hood of the 1970 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R Hatsuoka, the 1970 Datsun 240Z/1970 Nissan Fairlady Z, the 1972 Nissan Sunny 1200 GX-5, the 1973 Datsun Laurel 200L, or a 1972 Nissan Cedric 2000GL? My 1st car is a 72, then a 71 and a 75, I still have the 71. They were economy sports cars with a 68 Camaro look. Too bat Toyota didn't put a better motor in the 1st gen. Sorry to hear about your bro.
Real nice. Excellent workmanship. Glad to see Celica's getting a little recognition. I have had many Toyotas over the decades. I still have my first one purchased in 75. It is the 1975 Celica Coupe St with 43,000 mi. On it. AZ car until 2006. I drive it every couple weeks but it mostly stays in the hanger. I also have my 76 GT liftback. It has over 700,000 mi. It's last engine upgrade was a V12 from a Toyota century. Mild engine work it's putting out around 550 very reliable streetable HP And I still have my 80 Hilux long bed 4 x 4. It has a stroked stage 3 22r 5 speed and Marlin crawler. With 529 gears on 40 in tall tires with 9 in of lift. I purchased all these new. And I had many others in between as well. Some I wish I still had. I do have a 43 Willys with a 22R in it also.

I've got two 1973 and two 1975 Toyota Celica's I'm working on. I'm trying to make two drivers out of the four cars. They are one of the hardest cars to find parts for, from where I live. I love this build so much!
You got that right parts are rare. Good glasses is difficult. I only drive the 75 about two miles every other week. Otherwise it lives in the hanger. It only has 43,000 mi. The 76 GT lift back has over 700,000 mi. Instrument panel was cracked all around the gauges. Couldn't find one so I recast it in fiberglass and then did wood veneer. I put a subframe under the whole car. And it has Mustang control arms spindles and hubs. A 8-inch narrowed rear end. Yeah I put tubs in it. But I still fiberglassed nice flares. They come straight down forming a mud flap like the old vans did. but with a smoother transition from the flare to the body making it all one piece. Did that to the front also and it's molded into the front spoiler It now has the century V12 with Six-speed. I only did mild engine work to it although these engines have been known to put out 1500 + hp. That car had been through hell! I used to drift with it throughout the 80s. 🤠🐂🏞️🛩️

When I was 15 my first car was a 1972 Celica st lowrider with 3" flared fenders, deep dish turbine mags with Dunlop GT Qualifiers. Quickor suspension mods. Powered by an 18 RU with a 4 speed transmission. It could hang 90* turns at 55 all day long.
I love the way they've kept the aged patina and enhanced its longevity with the satin clear and old graphics. So brilliant. Definitely my idea of a weekend club car would be something looking underwhelming but QUICK

Nice build!! Guys mostly built 510s in the day digging this one. Finally somone has the harness mounts in the right spot.Most are too low and will snap the collarbone in most impacts.

Being a Canadian I absolutely love seeing crazy builds come out of Canada, it's so much more expensive and difficult to build a car to this degree with customs fees since most parts need to be imported. Huge props to the builder the car is fucking perfect.

@Pat Ball sorry bud that's incorrect. I'm actually building a 1uzfe 32valve dohc 4.0 liter from a 00 gs400 in my 77 Toyota Celica liftback . And there's actually a lot more clearance than you think minus the room for headers with the steering gearbox. Which is why we convert to a rack and pinion. His engine with that intake and crazy manifolds didn't fit at all they even ran exhaust through the body. My exhaust will exit downward and out the back of the car like normal
@Pat Ball also my liftback is the same geometry as the coupe in the video. Minor difference in the engine bay being physically longer by about an inch or 2 but width-wise they are the same although the shock tower bolt patterns are different
This build is great. I thought the engine bay was the best part until they started spot lighting the interior. Everything about this car was great especially when they started showing the willwood parts and really liked the edelbrock intake.

Once I'm finished putting my drag car together I'd love to build a modern street car version of this with a 2000ish Celica, a 5.3 ls, and a tremec 5 spd. Put some quiet mufflers on it and she'd probably be a little bit of a sleeper.
My first car was a 72 Celica were I did my first mods in a budget. I'm still doing a mod in a Volvo wagon 240 with a Supra 7mgte and the headlight switch is from a Toyota LandCruiser 72 inspired by the Celica Super clean build!!!
@@negativeindustrial You have good points .I got the 7m over 10 years for free including pcm ,r 154 trans , intercooler, driveshafts, wiring harness, instrument panel and the rest as well .I rebuilt the engine so it only has 9k miles. I am on a budget and the engine almost fitted like a glove in the bay.It served me well in a Cressida so I swapped almost everything into the wagon
Danny z That’s the BEST kind of swap, honestly. The one where everything is just laying around and you say “why the fuck not?” Good luck with it. If you retorqued those head bolts properly, and upgrade the turbo it should be massively fun! Make a video for your build and link me if you do. I’d love to see it! On a side note, we dropped a 5S-FE we had laying around after a swap into a late 70’s corolla using an IS200 tranny we also had laying around. That corolla woke right up! It didn’t stay in there long as the quest for more power is a nasty addiction. It now sports a 3S-GTE running longitudinally and the new owner LOVES that old rusty Corolla 😝
There are also I million parts from other cars adapted to the Volvo wagon that will take me two hours to write them all. Even parts found on the sidewalk lol yes sidewalk. Seeya Dz

Why the 7m? The 3S-GTE is a better engine and it’s lighter and more compact. 1JZ-GTE would also be better.

I've always wanted to do an LS swapped Conquest TSI. I think it would be somewhat unique for a SEMA build.
There's red Starion with LS swap these guys did a profile on a while back you should search out. Custom wide body and everything
