I bought the Xbox version of the Octa and found it really difficult to get the diagonals to register, even after updating firmware and messing around with d-pad sensitivity in the app. Finally I took the whole controller apart to see what may be going wrong with the d-pad. I found that the problem was that the bottom part of the d-pad (which you can't see because it's inside the controller) has a plastic nub that sticks out and touches the printed circuit board. This nub is there so that you can rock the d-pad back and forth without inputting opposite directions at the same time. And while it's does its job well, it does it a little too well. This particular d-pad only has 4 inputs: up, down, left, right. All the diagonals are made by hitting two of the directions at the same time (like down and left, up and right, etc.). And while it's not hard to hit the cardinal directions, the plastic nub is just tall enough that it makes it hard to press in the diagonal directions and hope that both cardinal directions register at the same time. So I used a nail file and filed the nub down by maybe 2 or 3 millimeters. Now diagonals come out just as easily as the cardinal directions and I no longer have any issues with the gamepad. Warning though: the pad is a bit of a pain in the ass to put back together. Make sure you take photos of the thing as you disassemble it so you can refer to the photos when reassembling it.
Yes me too! When you fireball or dp it skips the diagonal input and you end up with ⬇️➡️. I tried to increase the sensitivity on the hori software but it can’t detect my controller, hard to know if i received a knockoff because of the lightweight.
Great Pad! You can also hook it up to a computer and map the buttons any way you like. For example R2 can be set to press every button. You can also set profiles and switch it per game you play / system you play on. If you like fight pads is definitely one of the best out there
Yes I have actually, they're not bad. Imo the D-pad and overall plastic material doesn't feel as good as the original mark 2 (Europe/USA version) or the Japanese mark one. It's still cool to have as an option for PC though (and Nintendo Switch if compatible, I've never checked 🫣) as those controllers were very comfortable in the hand.
Over time I noticed it has a tendency to miss diagonal inputs for down/forward (1p side) or down/back (if you're on 2p side). Some people have fixed it by taking the pad apart and filing the tiny ball nub down a couple millimetres. It seems to be a hardware problem in all the first initial release units, I don't know if they ever revised the design later down the line. Hopefully this answer helps you.
Made a comment but deleted it because I found a solution. Make sure to at least glance at the instruction manual and update your controller via PC (if you can atleast)! I had problems with sensitivity, updated the unit and it works much better!
If I may ask, have you had any other issues after updating? There's lots of reports around about people's controllers' bricking after recent firmware updates, but there seems to be a few people who haven't experienced that. What was the update process for you?
Oddly enough I picked up two of these from Amazon.com when I was in America (next day delivery to An Amazon locker) on holiday/vacation last year. I also noticed them in Best Buy. Unfortunately I haven't needed to check on them (stock wise) this year. They are available in the UK (I don't know if that even helps) from Amazon & Smyths toys, oh and sometimes Argos. Sorry I can't be of more help.
I'm not from the USA but from what research I have done GameStop only listed the previous model for ps3 & ps4, not this model unfortunately. I couldn't find it on Best Buy site either, only Amazon.
I'm interested in your opinion, so during that era which gamepad (especially considering how popular Capcom fighters were at the time) do you feel was a better fit?

Finally I found a video where someone pressed the buttons! Thanks for this video bro!!😀🔥❤️🔥
I really want to believe that you're joking, 😅...😯.

Which R2? Cause on SF6, I want to make the shoulder R1 and R2 my LP+MP+HP and LK+MK+HK.
Great review
Cheers
Have you tried any of the Retro-Bit saturn controllers? The wireless one looks nice plus has usb c if you want to stay wired.

Little tip, hold triangle, circle, then hit forward forward. Good review. 👍
Thanks for the tip!
Some reviews says that the dpad is too stiff. May bad reviews on this controller. Are you okay with the dpad?

@@Unikronn Thanks man.

Where did you order the octa from it’s sold out everywhere I look and eBay wants $90 dollars but it ships from like Japan.
What country do you reside in?

I just ordered one a couple days ago on Amazon for $60
U should review games it will be good
I like too many different types of games 🤔🤷🏽♂️
Is there a turbo button for the OCTA like the previous one?
No turbo function unfortunately.
Have you had yours brick after a firmware update? Seeing lots of reports of the PS4/5 version becoming unusable after an update.
I haven't updated mine as it's fine for me out of the box.
The update to firmware is only for the Xbox version, u don't need to update the PS5 one. Just get the software to remap buttons and dpad sensitivity
@@Vizery so the update isn’t automatic? That’s a relief. People were making it out like it would auto update and brick the controller.
hello, are you playing the ps5 version of sf6? just want to make sure the ps5 version of sf6 works with this controller. thanks
Indeed this is the PlayStation 5 console version of sf6
There’s a switch on the back of the controller to switch between PC/PS4/PS5 but u need new profile for each one if you want custom mapping.
@@Unikronngot a question bro. Can you get this controller from gamestop

@@Unikronn thank you very much. I'm going to order one. Ps5 controller is just to big operate fighting games
there is no turbo mode ?
Nope, no turbo function.
Saturn gamepad is overrated.
