Yess please check out their albums! Nothing but thieves is a criminally underrated band, and i love seeing react channels discover them. This album and their Moral Panic album are definitely my favorites.

I saw the other day that it was up on your patreon and I've been wanting to support you there but im a broke college student so things are pretty tight lately for me, ive been meaning to though because i enjoy all your reactions and your honesty reguarding everything:) and since im the original person that harassed you for this i was really excited for this reaction😂
Okay so a little bit of backstory for this video and their new album if you're interested:
Its a concept album. They got the idea after releasing their previous album called moral panic in which they talk about the chaos of the modern society and how we're basically ruining the earth. So thats how they got the idea to make their newest album called Dead Club City which tells the story of the future and what happens if things get worse. It's about a dystopian, segregated members only city with perspectives from multiple people in and out of that city and touches issues like escapism, classism, the music industry etc.
As for the song, it talks about societal decay and the feeling of despair, that we've ruined everything and this is the end, but still hoping and longing for a better future while appreciating the little things. The music video is the 3rd and follows a story combined with the other two videos of their album. In regards to the concept, it's a preacher attracting members by giving them these hallucinations and a false hope that things that will get better and they'll be able to start a new life if they join the city. Basically saying "tell people what they want to hear, how they'll be saved and you'll gain the attention". The little red card in the end is a ticket to that city they've created:)
I would absolutely love to see your reaction to their newest album. It's really groovy, with influences from 80s electronic dance and disco. It's really different from their previous works but really lovely. I think you would enjoy it.

I think we got lucky in Vancouver! There was a radio called 102.7 the peak that played one of their songs in 2016 and that's how I got sucked into it and never stopped listening to them! They have so many different sounds and it's always a surprise which I really like with music! Cheers =D
Nice reaction Ashlena, I enjoyed listening to the song again with you. I suggest you listen to the new album first. They just released it so why wouldn't you listen to it first right? They are amazing band and very underrated artists. I love how you called his voice powerful. He has said himself that he will never sing a song if he doesn't absolutely feel every bit of it. I had the pleasure to see the band live when they were an opening act and was very surprised by the vibes, especially from the singer and his flawless falsettos. I couldnt help but become a fan.

You've gotta check out their song Particles, especially the piano version, Impossible orchestral version (live at Abbey Road), If I Get High, Lover Please Stay-- they showcase his voice well, Im Not Made By Design, Trip Switch. Hell, you just need to go down the rabbit hole like you're doing with Aurora. Conor has a phenomenal voice.

personally, I enjoy Dead Club City and Moral Panic (complete version!! Moral Panic I and II) more than their first two albums 'cause of more variation in the sound. But I've been their fan since 2015, they're ridiculously good and only get better it seems. was lucky to see them live. not only the vocals, but the whole band is 🔥🔥🔥

Yay! I was really worried that you would go “nah, still not feeling it!” But now you’ve started on the slippery slope of NBT addiction 😄 The card at the end is a membership card for the DCC - Dead Club City - the DCC is a concept album based around this club, and the songs are portraying different characters. Personally I think it’s their best album yet, but it has polarised their fans, as many of them prefer their earlier stuff and think this one is too “poppy”. I know you said you’d rather listen to the new stuff first, but I do think it’s worth starting from the beginning and seeing how they’ve developed and changed their sound from album to album. It’s also worth checking out their live performances - this is from a festival a couple of weeks ago, it’s an hour long! but they played songs from all their albums and it really showcases their different styles, and Conor’s phenomenal live vocals: th-cam.com/video/NMJUgnxmAdQ/w-d-xo.html

I definitely want to go check out all of their albums so I will be doing that on this channel. I don’t want to spoil the songs that I don’t know by watching them live because I love to listen to audio before I listen to live performances. But I definitely will keep that link handy.
