🕉😀 Oneness - Understanding it without being Enlightened / Spiritual Teacher Adyashanti

  • What is oneness? How do we connect with others spiritually? How do we realize oneness? Finding an answer to all these questions would bring harmony, love and joy to all of us, because we would be connected to the Source, to Truth. Spiritual teacher Adyashanti says that we don’t have to be enlightened in order to understand oneness. A great and important step is to realize oneness on an logical and philosophical level. For this he takes the example of ‘tree’ and shows how a ‘tree’ is not only connected to everything in the universe, but that is it is everything in the universe.
    If we want to realize oneness or experience oneness / unity with the cosmos we have to realize what Unity / Oneness actually means. ‘Unity isn’t just a nice. It’s not a better belief system than separation. It has nothing to do with a belief system,’ he says. ‘The experience of Unity is the whole universe now experiencing itself.’ ‘The universe is actually your intimate companion, it’s more than that. It’s your intimate Self.’ So, if all beliefs drop - even the belief in oneness - we realize unity consciousness and see that separation is an illusion. We then can experience harmony, connectedness with others and oneness with everything. We can see what personal and unhealthy boundaries we had and we can stop searching for oneness.

    I've been living this life for about 3 months now. I've had all these questions and talked about it between lots of people. and it seems the more I talk about it the more I start to get it and tbh. the more I start to understand it the better my life is. and it was weird because it hit me like a brick wall.

      Singular silence of IS, the more you speak the less you know, still the mind have no desire to speak be content with what IS, and there you find the true nature of the energy termed god.

      Aurelio Yuga This should answer your question:
      F.I.S.H Paragraph 6. God has given and continues to give His/Her perfect and pure teachings through His/Her messengers, known as priests. There are literally hundreds of thousands of individuals in this world who claim to be religious leaders/teachers of some kind. However, a true pastor/priest/minister/rabbi/guru/ mullah/spiritual master (call him what you will) is extremely rare. Out of a billion people there may be one or two true prophets (spokesmen) for the God of all gods. The most heinous action possible is to persecute a member of the Holy Priesthood. Thus, murdering billions of non-priests is less sinful than even slandering one of God’s holy prophets, let alone putting him to death. Only a saintly person can find the truth and logic in such a statement.
      On occasion, God gives specific messages via chosen individuals, whether they are priests or not. However, such messages are usually intended to be spoken to an individual or group of individuals with specific (and normally temporal) repercussions for those individuals in question. Such “prophets” can never ever replace a man who has evolved over millions of lifetimes to be a fully enlightened saintly prophet, appointed to teach Truth to humanity.
      To read the remaining thirty-nine paragraphs of “A Final Instruction Sheet for Humanity”, which the God of all gods has graciously given to His Prophet on Earth, email:

      with the acronym “FISH” in the subject field.

      there is an I and a you, you are an aspect of the all, a temporary form of being of the all that is individualized as you. there is a singular field of energy constantly changing form, that field of underlying energy in one current form is you and another is you, we are the same and yet different. the all is all within and around all, within and without to some sort of infinity.
      "The law of conservation of energy, also known as the first law of thermodynamics, states that the energy of a closed system must remain constant-it can neither increase nor decrease without interference from outside. The universe itself is a closed system, so the total amount of energy in existence has always been the same. The forms that energy takes, however, are constantly changing." - Scientific American

      No there is an 'I', it's just the 'I' experiencing itself. Even if you have the experience of 'oneness' with Everything it's not really 'oneness' since there is still the 'I' experiencing oneness separate from Everything.

    The upanishads declare that there is Only One.
    On effect of Maya, the individual consciousness (Jeeva Prajna) considers itself as separate from the divine consciousness ( Daiva Prajna) , much like the two birds of Mundakopnishad which though One appears as two.
    The acts that we do, the words that we speak much all take us back to the realisation of this Upanishadic truth.

    I liked your talk. I use to think the sun must be a god because all energy comes from the sun but there'd be no earth for objects to manifest without other planets and meteors. I can see now that everything must be treated equal to support life. Like in your talk you could say praise the ground for giving life to trees but it cant exist without the sun and the rain. I've been looking at history and find it fascinating when a guerilla group overthrows a warlord that has turned to greed. I then think that the power of the guerilla comes from there spiritual and physical connection with the earth that the warlord has lost touch with as the warlord chases concubines alcohol and power. Eithercase this is a good lesson that we need to respect the laws of nature that has created our lives.

    The word 'everything' implies a separation: Things separate from one another, taken as an aggregate.
    Allness, Isness, might be useful here. "Thing" might be the problem; There is no "thing"

    I love this. But I would love him to go also on a related question: but does the tree exist without me? It depends on the sun, etc. - but if I don’t exist doesn’t it exist anyway? I know I won’t exist without the trees, but will the trees exist without me? Or would these “trees without me” be different?

    • @michaelbrown7561
      @michaelbrown7561 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Think of it this way-maybe the tree exists without you experiencing it. That seems to be the common belief. But, think of everything you know or think you know: ALL of it exists right now in your mind. You can't separate the knowing apparatus (mind) from the known (tree). What's not certain and pure speculation is that you take consciousness out of the picture and things exist independently of it. Even your notion of a universe that came into being well before experiencers came onto the scene exists in your consciousness-not outside of it.

    • @zendog8592
      @zendog8592 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no me to experience experience. Only consciousness experiencing itself as a tree as a being ! The appearance of things living a discreet separate life is a confusion, Consciousness placing I in deep sleep materialises no me or you or tree, on awakening consciousness conjures the dream of you and me the tree and the whole shebang, the cosmos ! There is no you no me, no tree, just consciousness.

      Edvin Mittsten the “I” thought will never understand, the title is misleading...the pointer is to the Divine Zero...pure with no desire or Seeds of doubt, your surrendered and completely fulfilled with whatever is in the moment that’s what peace is it’s beyond understanding....as long as you continue to believe the thought source “I” you will not understand it’s like the mind goes from a squeaky hamster wheel spinning, to being in flow without identification to thoughts...

    Love Adya, but I have a partial critique and refinement I guess you could say. You cannot have oneness without separateness. It is true, you cannot have a tree without the sun, but likewise you cannot have the tree unless it is far separate from the sun. Trees can't exist at 10,000 degrees. Actually, I can exist just fine without many things. In fact there is a lot that if it just disappeared the universe would go on just fine too. Yet other things would collapse entire systems, or everything.
    To summarize something is to focus on it's overall distinctness and overlook it's unity, the problems of that point are taken. But to merely do the opposite is just the opposite narrowing of view, the opposite mistake. All is not just one, it is what it is, and that requires unity and distinctness both.

      I kept waiting for the everything is only one thing, the consciousness of the Divine. I've heard people refer to him as a non dualist, but he nowhere here pointed the listeners toward that. Not really sure what his whole point was.
