That gurgling neutral drain is similar to bathtub draining and separate shower spraying and gurgling. That neutral drain motor is similar to electric bathroom fans.
Those machines didn't have a separate drain motor. The pump is mounted to the motor. The machine shuts down and reverses to put the transmission in neutral and it reverses the pump Impeller to pump out the water. After pumpout, the motor shuts down to release the neutral pack and Engages the basket drive which spins the basket. Those direct drive models were good machines.

What happened at 14:42??? Why the machine suddenly stopped spinning?
This was a little too late, but basically the washer does a neutral drain, where it doesn't spin when it drains. As you can see, it did spin, but its not supposed to do that. That's why it stopped.

does the washer have suds return?
I don't understand this machine's way to wash: it only spins the center tower forth and back while washing. The clothes hardly move, they just stay in place, the only thing that happens is that the water agitates lightly. Why does it not agitate the clothes more?
That's an agitator that Sears designed for the Kenmore way back in the 1980's.Bac in those days Whirlpool and Kenmore washers were belt drive and didn't agitate as fast as the direct drive machines like the one in this video.(Kenmore was built by Whirlpool for years) The idea behind it was the center post auger move the clothes to the bottom of the agitator where the four fins scrubbed the clothes rolling the load from top to bottom giving the load a thorough cleaning. Trust me they got the clothes clean. They have videos of the belt drive Kenmore washer on TH-cam.
