The messed up thing is when people toss these out, it is usually because they need something minor like a timer or agitator dogs. These machines are very easy to work on. If I had one, I would hold onto it because newer machines are JUNK (except for speed queens which are VERY expensive).
Just had to replace the drive block and basket drive tube tonight on mine along with the agitator dogs…made sense to me since had machine apart to do a super deep clean of the inner and outer tubs along with replace the clutch and brake pads 16 year old machine and I plan on keeping it until the tub rots out.
My Aunt has a Speed Queen TR7 in black and she loves it. You could find one of the used (if you’re lucky enough…) because this is actually a rare model.
Whirlpool actually made an HE direct drive for their laundry centers for a bit. They’ve since discontinued it but they did manufacture a direct drive with a high efficiency agitator, soil level selector, deep water wash, and auto load sensing very much like a VMW machine. Those were made until like 2017. It was definitely a direct drive let’s just say that. It had mechanical controls, and the same balance ring. And it probably has the same parts and motor. So Whirlpool made direct drives for longer than you thought. I think the commercial direct drives were made until 2015. It probably used less water than the old school direct drive too. But just like the VMW machines, it had deep water wash option.
It seems like ever Whirlpool discontinued these machines, washer and other appliances have tanked in quality since 2011. Oh well, at least I have something from the golden age of appliances that’s still running.
The wash spray rinse is something I have never seen before either. It is something I always thought would be very beneficial. I'm sure someone familiar with microcontrollers would be able to add that kind of mod to another machine. I can imagine how it could work, but that's something I never got into. Then again, do you _really_ want to computerize an already purely mechanical machine? That being said, it would be VERY easy to implement a manual wash spray rinse with a pushbutton. Otherwise, although the controls panel looks different from my 2009 machine, I can tell just by the sound of it that it's the same internals. Same thunka-thunka-thunka of the transmission; hard to explain but there are fine differences in how these machines sound over the years. This particular era happens to have a noisier-than-normal transmission, yet still not very loud at all.
Desde as máquinas de lavar roupa e louça antiga era mais eficiente e qualidade ótima, hoje vc compra uma máquina de lavar roupa ou louça de 3 até 5 mil reais não dura 2 anos e tenque levar para concerto
I have always and still do love direct drives. I can never get bored of watching them 😊
Completely agree with you.
@@joemaytaga8066 They're straightforward.
I have one at home and it works really good. It has been running since I believe 2007
This is just like my childhood washing machine I first learned to do laundry on.
Interesting to see the spray rinse on the first spin, I thought that was a thing for the older machines.
Great video as always!
Did you know if you hold down the super plus water level to the right it will fill up with more water

Say it again for the people in the back!!!!

Just replaced the motor in my 2003. She should be well for another 20 years!!

2008 really wasn't that long ago. I wonder if there are any of these sitting new in a warehouse anywhere? I guess it's possible.
That is a possibility. There’s a speed queen 9 series dryer near me that was never opened for 2016 so very possible.
If so how would we go about buying one

Same here. I have a 2011 Kenmore elite direct drive
Thank you great video now I see what really goeson

Are you still gonna keep doing Washing Machine Videos?
Pretty washer my friend.
My childhood Whirlpool lasted over 40 years
Nunca había visto un agitador así, que se mueve siempre en una sola dirección.
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes
that is the best washer ever made
Is the fabric softener dispenser compatible with the Admiral washer? if it is, I would like to see it in the Admiral washer
Use a Downy Ball if your washer doesn’t have an agitator or if the agitator doesn’t have a fabric softener dispenser
Those hot and cold valves get a workout!
Nice. Spray rinse during the first spin? Was the knob put to final rinse?
No, it actually did a spray rinse on the first spin. Never seen another one of these do that before
@@DaSamNudge weird. Never understood why whirlpool didn't have a longer spray rinse in the first spin. Seems counter-intuitive to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I will never get over that mechanical noise, lol.
a friend of mines on youtube had a machine like this
I want this washer and its matching dryer.
Probably the only company to use a porcelain tub in this era. Most just used plastic.
Why are you filling a lot of water?
do you see how many towels are in there?😭
you've heard of ring around the tub? But look at that almost black ring around the agitator, is it affecting the cleanliness of the towels?

Agitator needs a good cleaning. Great machine though!

That agitator needs a good cleaning!
